Great class

After I took this course my mixes began to really sound better, and after learning more tricks and trying out new things and practice they are amazing, and I am very comfortable and happy with the results. Graham is a great teacher, great musician and singer too, we are so fortunate for his contribution to the music community.

It's good. There's a lot of knowledge contained within the course. I think because we live in a digital age, and this is a slightly older video, there are a lot of new tools that I'm sure would be shown if the same course were presented today, but I think all the principles behind using them are more or less the same. I learned some new tricks and ways of thinking about things and validated some things that I already had been doing. My only gripe is the fact that the audio examples appear to be taken from the ambient mic? Or a combination? And so when you're supposed to be listening to subtle changes in multiband compression, it's kind of impossible when you're hearing phasing and other artifacts that aren't part of the original source material. That being said, you can still learn the concepts anyway just by watching and hearing him as he makes changes and talks about it. I definitely learned from this course.

Clear, concise, interesting! Zach presents a lot of information in the context of an actual song being constructed from start to finish. The entire process was easy to follow, and Zach provides key insights for each step. For example, when starting a project, I've never known what to do first - lay down a drum track, record guitar, record vocal ... ? After watching this course, I have a much better idea about how to decide which thing to do first, and the concept of scratch tracks adds a lot of flexibility to the process. The addition of doubled tracks and other instrument layers ("overdubs") made a huge impact on the overall sound and these seem like very achievable steps for a home studio. I've done some home recording and mixing with garage band and an old version of logic. This course is a great update on that. While Zach demonstrates protools, I think it's pretty easy to map most of what he did to other apps like garageband (which admittedly has more restricted functionality). I'm looking forward to starting my next recording project using what I've learned here!

so far this has been a great training class for brushing up on the basics it would have been nice if you would of went over gain staging more and how you got the static mix level wise when faders are at zero its a little deceptive. I did appreciate the minimal set up you use though.

I watch this a 1000 times to this date from since it first came out. We are talking about modern next level metal music from one of the best multi talented producers of our time!

Just amazing how easy can be explain this techniques, and for those who need to see how its done, its perfect, for me it is just perfect!

I am a member of URM academy and this course is super defined! worth every penny to get in depth understanding start to finish of certain tools and plugins and how to use them. a lot of other instructors don't go as deep as this with the why and how to use certain plugins or what they do.

I love Brendon. He has always treated fans super well. There's so much wisdom to be gained from listening to him about workflow and music in general. Great class!

Great course! Drum section was excellent. That guitar tech needs to take his head out of his arse though.

Lots of helpful information here but it would be even better if the instructor spoke more clearly. He speeds up and mumbles dramatically toward the end of each sentence making it pretty difficult to hear what he's saying. If you do more classes, please work with a video or speech producer to improve the delivery. Thanks!

I couldn't even finish and I had to write a review. This women rocks. She is tuning the snare drum, oh my god. She was like "get out of the way drummer, Sylvia is here." This women is awesome.

I just wanna echo what the other reviewers have said. I've been looking for a while for a course, teacher program that can fill the gap and connect the dots to the fundamentals you need to address, i've tried various well known programs and forums but nothing has laid things out so clearly and concisely as Isaac Cotects programs have, a great place to start from to become a better producer and mix engineer. Obv this is a few years old now and things have evovled since then, instead of the eq matching you could try something likr room correction, i've used it for a few year but all this time my monitors were not calibrated properly and i was mixing too quiet! ;'( These programs have all the steps you need to level up your mixing and production game.
