  • Raissa's work and explanations here are wonderful. 5 Star quality! I am a beginning jewelry student but I have many of the items on her list because I decided to go further with this. She also tells you how to use other tools if you don't have them (i.e. Dremel or even hand-held to twist instead of a flex shaft for twisting the wire)! The dude that wrote that beginners don't have the tools must be joking. There are things you can do ahead of time to prepare yourself if you want to get serious. For example, I previewed this class so I would be ready and got a few things. I will eventually own everything on her list. I'm so glad you included her as a teacher. More please!!

  • I think Raissa's explanations are perfect. She really is the bomb/excellent teacher! I am a beginning jewelry maker and I DO have most of the tools that she uses, so that other "recommendation" is not accurate. I will get the ones I don't have to make my life easier. I'm serious about learning everything I can. I can't imagine complaining if I didn't have all the tools since it is a beginning class, and it would be worth seeing if I wanted to continue into jewelry making. After all, I paid the money to sign up for CreativeLive, why wouldn't I look at the very least?

  • I truly enjoy watching and learning. Step by step. Some of these so instructors , miss steps and never finish the projects, its unacceptable to pay for those types of learning classes.

  • I learned so much from this class!

  • I don't even make jewelry and I enjoyed this class so much. There is something relaxing about watching Raissa make jewelry. She explains everything very clearly!

  • The instructor was excellent but the camera work was not! This is a detailed technique, suggest the camera person get an idea of what they are filming and do better close ups of the important techniques. If I didn't know a bit about bezel setting, this video would rate very poorly. For those that are new to this, I'm sure they missed a lot by not having the correct close ups / over shoulder shots. Maybe refilm those and insert into the class course?

  • I liked this course, Megan explains a lot of things about techniques and materials and it's simple follow all the operations to create these types of rings. I think I'd purchase other classes of her.

  • Good starting point if you have never done any Jewelry at all before

  • This is a fantastic class for a beginning jewelry maker. Raissa is a wonderful teacher. She explains what she is doing as she does it and takes her time to make sure the student understands why she is doing each step. I have watched this class twice so far. The first time I made three different twisted wire pieces for bracelets. The second time through, I made two bracelets and three rings! Thank you CreativeLive for bringing Raissa Bump to your platform!

  • I thought Bonnie was very informative, however I didn’t like the camera angles. Most classes I take, the focus is the table and shows the teachers hands. Thank you Bonnie, I enjoyed you short class.

  • Another excellent class! Thank you Megan!

  • I LOVED this class! Megan is such a detailed teacher. She leaves no stone unturned. So much fun! Can't wait for my next class!

  • Short and sweet. It is an intermediate class so it is assumed that there is a certain level of experience that the viewer has and doesn't rehash a lot of information. I appreciate that. I would add that there is a brass solder sold by Rio Grande. I have been using it for several years and it is a great color match.

  • One of the most special things about Megan, is that though she is a creative, she is extremely good at business. Her organized way of thinking and presenting material, and her genuine joy when empowering her students with the tools needed to be successful, is charming and so much fun. Somehow there is such seamlessness and flow to her class structure and explanations, that I can absorb what she says and easily retain it. I really can start a jewelry line just with this class. She is amazing and LOVE her style!!!

  • After watching Megan solder in this class, I felt like it was something I could take on. There's a lot of soldering in this class! But there's also a lot you can do without soldering that's covered. I have a better understanding of how jewelry is made from this class. I'm looking at things that I own and thinking that I now know how to recreate them!

  • This is a great addition to Megan's metalsmithing series. She makes the topic really approachable. Bonus that metal patinas were added in to the class. I loved the class!

  • I love that Megan invites you into her studio (virtually) and reveals her design process. As someone completely new to metalsmithing and jewelry making, I felt like she made the topic approachable and doable. Statement earrings demystified!

  • I really enjoyed this class! It was very informative and gave me a lot of ideas for expanding a jewelry line to include a variety of bracelets and finishes.

  • Megan' an excellent instructor and lays things out very clearly, with a lot of good tips based on her extensive experience. I've experience making wire wrapped chain and have taken a beginning metalsmithing class before, and this class had some good refresher information. I particularly appreciated seeing her techniques and process for streamlining production.

  • I really enjoyed this class! Megan provides a great foundation for using metal sheets to design/make jewelry and using wire to make unique findings. This was a great class for learning the fundamentals and sparking inspiration for new projects

  • Megan is an awesome teacher! She is genuinely enthusiastic about sharing her metalsmithing skills with us. I am really looking forward to trying my hand at designing and making a chained necklace on my own soon.

  • I can't wait to take the c)ass again-

  • The content was good but could not see some of the techniques. Maybe use of the overhead camera positioned over the work space would have helped. Overall a good class.

  • Disappointing!! This is such a basic course with the instructor having less knowledge on the tools, materials and all pertinent information that would make it a tutorial that I would purchase. The instructor has surely taken "her" time meddling deconstructing and putting things together for minutes as if she has not much to talk about with awfully long .... gaps of silence and at one point commenting on " Well, this can be done if you give me 30 minutes!" ( Putting a bead through a jump ring! ). She does not seem to have a "better" system on putting this on without fuss that I and perhaps the students may know! I suggest that if Ms. Blair has had it prepared to get the beads she needed, do a research in youtube and really know beyond whats presented then it would sell. The students seems to even suggest and identify the materials for her ! Her tentative use of words and even contrasting themselves made it more confusing to follow along! Example , " Let's now do this .. You can do this ... but you don't have to" , "Let's use this ...but you don't have to" ..."Where is? ... I forgot to bring it ... then proceeded to do it anyways". and MORE :( I suggest that Creativelive would screen their instructors thoroughly and not based it on just a book somebody authored etc. Experience is MORE RELEVANT and the ability to convey a thorough knowledge and burning passion of what their teaching. I really want to learn more about Beaded Jewelry and Creating Clasp etc... I am sure there are a lot out there! Amazon book best sellers with high commendations from their reviews and YouTube. Keep up the great work! Creativelive !!! I am a fan.

  • Loved this class. I have been in business for awhile but Kari reminded me of lots of things I need to remember. Like why I started down this trail. And LOVED the "There is no reason why you can't do this" slide. Thank you Kari. I feel this will be a great primer for those just thinking about or getting into the business- lots of nitty gritty information.
