color is critical to good design.
Color is a critical element of good design. Learn how to make expert-level color choices in Graphic Design: Color with Timothy Samara. In this class, you’ll learn about the fundamental principles for working with color and how those insights can help you create cohesive color palettes. You’ll learn about:
This is GREAT, especially for ppl new to Graphic Design. Tim is a natural teacher.
All courses in Graphic Design from Timothy are just great! Thank you
It's a fantastic course. I learnt a lot about color. it's just a pity the slides aren't available to print!
I've studied color in various ways (for both graphics and painting) for 15 years and I can recognize this is really good information. That said, it's only a high-level overview; it's not meant to teach you everything you know, but rather cover the highlights only of color theory. It's still a good class. Timothy is a great lecturer, but this is not a hands-on deep dive, which would take hours, if not days.
I wish there was a neutral option for the grading of this course. I for one, did some research about the subject, and read Sean Adams book; I would say that some of the content at the beginning feels erroneous. For instance, the course says RYB are the primary colors.. but actually they are only, in the world of artists using paint ink printing etc and is not necessarily scientifically proven to be the primary colors when it comes to our eye perception (scientist video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hbxy1W9O_Wk), but RGB is closer which is why TV CAmeras and anything electronic uses the RGB system. ( additive system/red green and blue). heres is a video which actually make the experiment with light (*also RYB/CMY (substractive) system red yellow and blue produces black not white ) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ-mEddsYqo ------- 2. There is not explanation has to how to interchange or use the different colours in RGB RYB and CMY modes which I think is important if like me, you work with different media. Besides that, I appreciate the rest of the content although it became a bit confusing at rare times with the saturation and value explanation.
Very detailed course. Definitely, the fundamentals of colors.
Precised, and thoroughly covered course. A must try to make your base at least.
Precise, clear and interesting course. The course gave me the insight I was looking for, I love it.
Instructor T. Samara knows his subject thoroughly and it shows. The pace is just right. The content includes much more than you would expect in a 5-lesson course. I want to get the entire bundle!
This class is totally on trend. I can see it being VERY popular. CreativeLive obviously loves him & his (awesome) topics, as his classes are often available for limited time (for free). Speaker is well versed/uber knowledgeable on the subject/techniques; obviously very passionate & a creative/visionary. I would suggest for him on future verbal teachings, to work on the elimination of the verbal tick of saying "uhh" so very often. Otherwise, A++++. Thank you.
