Interaction Design with Jamal Nichols

This course was an excellent introduction to interaction design. Jamal is a brilliant presenter and a born teacher. I would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn about this fascinating field.

I loved this class! I've been studying UX design for a while but I still had many questions regarding research and when to conduct different methods. Thanks to this course my questions were answered and more information was shared that I wasn't aware of. The best part of this whole experience was using real examples and putting my self in the shoes of users to better understand what methods to use in my research. Thanks Jamal!

A good course with some nice pdf files included about Interaction Design. Both nice if you need a clear proces to improve your workflow of if you need some basic toolts, tips and advice how to get better each day.

I'm a newbie to UX and found the material presented to be at a level that didn't overwhelm me.

Jamal's explanations were very clear even for me as a not native speaker. I really liked how he talked about microinteractions and how to become better as a designer. I want to see more from him as an instructor!

This course was amazing. I've been a designer for almost 7 years and used this as a refresher. There were some sections in the 3rd part around user research, where you could tell that's not his specialty, but overall this course was one of the most original, interesting, unique explanations of the core concepts of interaction design I've ever seen. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to brush up on their skills or who is new to the field.

Jamal had such a good energy that kept me focused. He uses analogies that really helped to understand what he was talking about. Laced in some good moments of humor. He stays on topic in a way that is neither dry or boring. 10/10 would watch more of his videos!

This course was so much fun to watch. Jamal is a very engaging speaker and went into great detail while still being direct and to the point. The bonus videos are great! They feel like a behind the scenes look and he really goes off script to give detailed answers to questions like how to design your portfolio site. Great class!

I love this course. It completely changed they way I look at apps I use on my phone now. My favorite chapters were the one on Microinteractions and Mental Models. But I also loved the step by step breakdown and the passion and humor with which Jamal discussed best practices and heuristics. Highly recommended!

I was previously trained in interaction design but Jamal solidified and validated everything about what I learned, but that didn't stop there. He gave much more insight into what interaction design entails, who the product is for, for what purpose and what context it's used. He delved deep into how to put all the artifacts from conception to mockup together and enlightened us with his personal experiences as a freelance designer from his beginnings in Germany to now. This was definitely a class worth attending

After viewing this course, I have a ton of ideas to bring back to my current projects, and how I can improve my past projects, as well as best prepare for the future. Jamal's extensive experience and real-world comparative examples, helped paint the picture on how to put this course content to good use in my day-to-day design activities. I appreciate Creative Live's layout of limiting 2 questions per segment. This allowed for more time for content and I'm able to write down my questions to address and connect with Jamal offline. I'm also grateful that Jamal/Creative Live organized the course segments in a timely way that the course went fast but stayed memorable and understandable. The bonus materials are such an invaluable source of information! Jamal conveys his knowledge and passion for interaction design easily. You can tell he genuinely cares about paying his experience forward, by how he expresses his design approach and how he really listens when he's asked a question. Even if you know about interaction design there is always something more to know and Jamal has a ton of experience to share.
