Introduction to AutoCAD (Self-Paced)

This introductory AutoCAD course starts with the basics, including learning to create drafting symbols, kitchen and bath fixtures, and a floor plan. You will then integrate all these elements into a single deliverable sheet file. The course covers AutoCAD skills such as drawing, modifying, layering, adding text and dimensions, and plotting, all while working on a residential project for Habitat for Humanity.

• Create Drafting Symbols, Fixtures, and a Floor Plan: Learn how to draw essential drafting symbols and fixtures for a residential project. You will also create a floor plan and integrate all components into a complete deliverable sheet file.
• Distinguish Between Annotation and Real-World Model Components: Understand the differences between creating drawings for annotations and real-world model components. Learn how each type of drawing is applied at different stages of the design and construction process.
• Create and Insert Blocks and Externally Reference Files: Learn to create and insert blocks and how to externally reference files into your AutoCAD project. You will also determine the appropriate times to use these techniques to improve workflow.
• Master File Management, Layering, and Plotting: Gain skills in managing files, drafting on layers, and integrating component files into a cohesive project. You will also learn how to plot your final design, preparing it for presentation or printing.
