I am a full-time web designer so I love all of her reasons for having a website. I do nature and travel photography as my side business.

A small little lovely course! You will learn a lot abot photography here!

I dabble in art and mostly do life/leadership coaching. I was looking for a good overview of the basics of Instagram and this was very helpful and gave enough detail without being overwhelming.

  • Leah K. Jan 12, 2021

I have been a photographer for 15 years but have been slow to adapt to social media. This was a great introduction to IG for me.

  • Robin S. Jan 1, 2021

This class was just what I needed and has really helped me out on this confusing topic (for me anyway). It was done at a great pace but I admit I watched a couple of the technical segments twice to fully understand. 2 hours was the perfect length and I would take more of Pei Ketron's classes.

A very good class for someone who is starting out with instagram

Found your class really enjoyable and helpful. Have been on instagram for a little while but have just been slowly learning tricks as I go on my own! So thank you for this.

I thought this class was great. It was more of like a beginner's crash course into Instagram, so I would have liked more specific actionable steps as to how one could grow an audience versus an overview of what Instagram is. Yet, I would still recommend the class to people since it's a good launching pad into instagram.

For the most part, I used Instagram in the most basic way. Because I want to promote my photography, I have to get better about how I use it. I took this class because Pei is also a photographer, and I specifically sought out her opinion on the platform. For those more intermediate and advanced users, they might not get as much value from it. However, I recommend the course to others who want to build their profile and understanding of how Instagram can be beneficial to their business.

I enjoyed this class and found it helpful. I'm primarily a DSLR shooter, but want to up my game for those times that I want to use my mobile phone either to shoot silently or to take advantage of photographic moments on those occasions that I'm not carrying my DSLR. Pei uses an iPhone, throughout, however, many of her recommendations apply to newer top level Android phones, such as the Samsung Note 9, as well. Pei demonstrates Portrait mode in the iPhone for a shallow depth of field vs. the native iPhone for wider shots. And, for wide angle photography, she uses a "Moment" cellphone case with a "Moment" wide angle lens attached. I've just added both accessories to my "gotta have" list. In addition, she teaches some basics on lighting, posing, composition, rule of thirds, and depth of field. Pei effectively demonstrates the use of burst mode to capture fleeting moments and exposure compensation to counter harsh light, as well. Professional photographers will already be familiar with the photography concepts taught. However, mobile phone photographers and beginning photographers who want to capture beautiful pics anywhere and anytime may find this course beneficial. It's short, about 40 minutes, total, and so priced a bit high, in my opinion. However, CreativeLive.com has GREAT sales--especially on weekends. Watch for it on sale and it's a worthwhile purchase. For future mobile photography classes, I'd ask for a more in-depth presentation of iPhone camera settings and features. And, as an Android phone user, I'd love to see a top Android phone or two used and explained, as well. Thank you Pei and thank you CreativeLive.com. I enjoyed this class. I watched it twice and picked up useful tips, both times! Daniel Williams, Santa Fe, NM danielw58@gmail.com

Definitely not for "growing" your audience. Class is for absolute Instagram beginnners. Worked for me, but the title is misleading. She teaches the basics of setting up your profile, etc. I was expecting to learn some tips and tricks about photography for IG, given that she is a photographer, but it was more about administrative things, captions, connecting with your audience. All good points, just not quite what I was expecting. Glad I got this on a large discount deal. Ok at that price but I'm glad I did not pay full price for this.

Learned a lot, but I wanted her to go though how to use all of Snapseed not just what she used. Maybe you could have a Snapseed Class.

  • J. Aug 25, 2018

Very informative for an Instagram newbiew like me.

  • C.C. C. Aug 4, 2018

I have been hesitant to switch over to using Lightroom CC from Classic, but this class took away all of those fears. Plus, I trust Pei fully when it comes to photography and she showcased all of the features any photographer is going to be curious about. My on-the-go workflow has forever changed for the better because of this course. Thank you!

I would recommend this course to those who are more so beginners with Instagram. If you already have plenty of experience you will most likely not learn too many new things.

  • Carla G. Jul 12, 2018

This class demystified Instagram and how to use it for personal and business use. I have taken other classes but this one explains how to maximize your account and I finally understand hashtags, and their use. I recommend this class for business and personal use alike. There is so much more than posting pictures which I should have known. Even if you think you know Instagram, there is something to learn here. The instructor also goes over IG Stories and how it compares to Snapchat. I am following this instructor Pei Ketron on Instagram as well since the class.

  • Michele G. Jul 12, 2018

Great information! Love the tips, tricks and ways to use Instagram for your business.

  • B. Jul 11, 2018

It's not her. She clearly knows photography. At least I think she does. But what happened to knowing that you can't really see a photo online that well, especially in something like instagram. And moving sliders is so different than getting the good light in camera, as, you know, photographers do. This is a great way for the lay person to produce better looking photos. Not better photos. It's like taking a profession and learning to fake it, but forgetting to mention that's what you are doing. In this age of short cuts and faking it, shouldn't we just have that clause stated some place: Warning! This is a great shortcut but not great photography. A quick copy of a great work of art produces a quick copy, not art. Are there now people who don't know the difference?

Great except the sound volume is lower than average Creative Live show

  • Maryanne E. Jul 9, 2018

Nice lesson. I picked up some good tips
