  • Caught this course on free stream day, and was totally impressed! DJ Hapa is so good at explaining things, in an easy and clear way! Great attitude and energy too! Really like his teaching style! I learned so much from catching what I did of this that day, and I'm not even a DJ! Lots of respect now for the Art of DJ'ing! Wow. Thank you! Look fwd to following you and maybe even dabbling into some of this myself now :) Great course loaded with golden nuggets for learning the craft!

  • Pretty dated, but an excellent class. JK walks through everything he explains with thorough, real-time examples. Extremely helpful!

  • Excellent content highly recommended for beginner /intermediate.

  • Great intro to DJ-ing, covering gear, building blocks of music, beat matching, and lots of little stories about his experience. Also touches on what to think about depending on what kind of DJ you want to be and how that might change the type of gear you're after. As a classically trained musician, I also find his notation for phrases, beats, etc a lot more simple and intuitive than traditional theory. Thanks, great course.

  • u da best man , learned so much from this class , thanks

  • Even though it's a bit old now this is still a fantastic walkthrough of Maschine. Lots of great content here!

  • Please make an update to this class or create a brand new one based on the newest Maschine + Mk3! thanks in advance!

  • It's great to learn from a master such as DJ Hapa, the course content is the perfect blend of comprehensive content and practical demonstrations. I've learnt a wealth of valuable information! Thank you Creativelive and DJ Hapa for an excellent course

  • I’ve always wanted to be a DJ and dabbled with gear and software since I was a kid. But as a result I never got really good at it. So I finally decided to give the subject it’s proper respect and study it. Boy am I glad I did. This guy is a terrific instructor. Just enough theory to give you a solid foundation, just enough practice to get you to work on your skills. I’m half way through the material and I’m loving every minute of it. I learned in one video more than I had learned my entire life watching random YouTube videos and talking to others. I would definitely recommend it to any DJ, new or experienced that want to get their fundamentals down cold.

  • much respect to DjHapa ,i had to re-learn and unlearn some things.

  • I first want to start by saying, DJ Hapa, you've done an excellent job on this DJ Fundamental Course. Your explanations of the course was in depth. I've been djing for private party and events for about 5 years already and basically started learning how to dj on my own just by watching videos. By taking your course, it has open my mind to a better understanding of djing. I highly recommend anyone who is in the process of djing to take this course. Hands down, job well done. My other courses that I'm also taking is Intermediate/Advance DJ strategy and Serato Scratch Fundaments.

  • I am still in the process of watching your courses. So far I'm very interested in them and hope to learn a lot from them. I hope to start practicing soon. You make it easy to understand the fundamentals of DJing. A lot of motivation Thank you for your time.

  • Great class! I've been deejaying for 10+ years, but did take away a lot from this. The mic section was especially valuable for me personally. It is one area that always scares the hell out of me and which I need a lot of improvement in. Everybody is approaching the art of deejaying in a different way and there is so much to learn from other people in the industry so I wholeheartedly recommend the class for experienced djs as well.

  • Greetings from South Florida, My name is DJ Royal Flush and I wanted to give feedback for the class. I am happy with the time and effort Hapa put into his sessions. Ive tried learning online before with other organizations and they didnt go as deep as Hapa did. I will be looking forward to future classes

  • Update please!,,

  • I think It is time to do an update to this Class, Maschine have gone to an all new level... It will be nice to have JK Swopes, Knock and Flux, giving and Advance updated class of how much Maschine has grown up.. ~Dracula NoRelation

  • Excellent instructor…employs “Learner-centered” and “Knowledge-centered” learning that employs the aural, tactile, and visual methods of learning. DJ Hapa, always explains and gives an example of why you must do something in a certain way; for example, when practicing manual beat matching why you should close your monitor screen (to prevent you from staring at the screen) which would prevent you from listening and concentrating on the beats. He also reminds you to make sure you have your headphones and monitor speaker on, and of the importance of nodding your head to the beat, while moving your body to the beat, which will help you lock into the rhythm so that you can properly time your “baby scratch” and drop the incoming track “in on the One. Most important, to record your practice session(s) so that you can listen back to it (them) and make the necessary correction(s). Moreover, DJ Hapa is a very humble and informative hands-on master instructor whom is able to translate his vast knowledge of DJing into digestible modules of learnable instruction!

  • Just what i needed, great work flow an easy to follow. looking forward to the next level . Thanks

  • Hey DJ Hapa, my Man! This is DJ Monty from Las Vegas. I took your scratching and mixing seminar at the 2015 ADJA show here in Las Vegas. I just bought and downloaded the 13 DJ fundamental videos courses from CreativeLive.com. The videos courses are Awesome. Thank you. I may not make it for the live classes starting in September in Las Angeles at Scratch DJ Academy, but I will attending the Academy soon. DJ Monty, Las Vegas, Nevada

  • This was a great class with a great teacher. I just started working for a DJ company and wanted to learn about the craft. It was a great class to learn the basics to really get started. I highly recommend to anyone that wants to learn about DJing.

  • This was a great class. I am an up and coming DJ. I have been teaching myself for the most part. This was the first actual class that I have taken and it was very good to know and hear that I have been teaching myself properly. It was good to hear that I am on the right path. I was also able to pick up some tips on what I can improve and change about how I proceed in my journey. Would like to have more classes like these. Thanks.
