Huge strategic flaw. Being the same as everyone else is not a strategy. Sure it may seem out of date, but go read Michael Porter. Differentiation is the only way to win

My initial thought when starting the Copywriting for Crafters class was not what I was expecting when learning about copywriting (legally protecting my intellectual property), Nonetheless, Lisa was amazingly detailed in explaining what and how I should be writing my product descriptions to form an connection with my customers and generate that sale. Exceptional class.

This was a great course for giving starting points and methods to make your copy more engaging. It doesn't tell you what to write or is not overly specific, but then what course could cover that for everyone. It does set you up with ways to write and include storytelling techniques that will help make customers read your copy, and hopefully,​ take the action you want.
I thought this course was pretty great. Melissa packed a lot of value into a short class. I took notes and brainstormed on a lot of the exercises and strategies she recommends while watching (pausing as needed) and finished the class with a document full of good ideas and first-draft copy. It is a short class, so if you're looking for something that really gets into the nitty gritty of how to write, this probably won't be enough for you. But if you're just a bit stuck on how to tell your story in a compelling way, or need to inject some excitement into your copy, I'd recommend it.
Thank you for this. I am just starting out and am still deciding which products to sell. I have so many ideas. During this presentation I created a draft of an Ideal Customer. As I thought about how a few product descriptions would might read if I spoke to that customer, I could better see which product ideas are solving a "challenge" and which ones are not. If a product idea is not solving a "challenge," I can abandon it.
I cannot wait to see how the principles I learned in this class will convert my views to sales! I finished the class and immediately starting editing my product listings to ensure that I met my customers in their "mental dressing room." It also helped me to see how important it is to include a call to action. Incredible class, Lisa! I will be back for more once I finish making changes that need to happen NOW.

Definitely a high quality course. Though my product isn't exactly what this class was targeted to, I feel like I came away with lots of practical information to use in my product website. I'd recommend to anyone who wants to up their game or even learn more about copywriting if they've never done it before.

Can't keep silent ( as I usually do :)) This is the first time when I'm actually watching the class, not listening, and even don't think about doing something else in paralel, or going to grab some food, or even to go to the toilet! This class is amazing - Lisa does a great job demystifying the Etsy algorithm as it relates to listing product. She gives specific examples of "okay" copy and how to turn it into great copy that will translate into actual sales! I have tons of work to do now, but so grateful for this course and Lisa's great instruction.
In building my own website, I was struggling with copy, writing is not one of my strengths. I asked a couple of friends for help but didn't really get any. I decided to buy this course and by the end of it felt confident enough to do it myself.

This course is so helpful and well worth the money. It's broken into sections making it easy to do in parts and so easy to follow Lisa Jacobs. Lisa explains it so effectively making it so easy to learn and a pleasure to listen to. There are great questions from actual Etsy sellers and a complete workbook to fall back on. Without being intimidating, Lisa Jacobs is powerful and articulate in her delivery. Her dedication, expertise and warmth are evident in each session. Throughout the course, Lisa reminds us that our customers—both potential and current—are flesh-and-bone people. Therefore, the content and copy writing on our websites must show the same careful attention we would exhibit in face to face interactions. In my opinion, some of the most salient course features are: the explanation of the distinction between content and copy writing, the marketing umbrella and its application, and of course, useful tips and real-life examples on how to write good, attractive content and item descriptions. Overall, this was my favorite class from the "Increase Your Holiday Sales Seminar." I happily recommend it without hesitation to creative business owners offering products or services.
This is TERRIFIC course, and Lisa is a superb instructor! She’s genuine, high energy and man did she pack a ton of info into a one-day course!! She offers real. and practical, put-it-to-use-now methods, and I’m excited about changing things up with her suggestions. It was a pleasure to tune in for the day. My head is full of ideas. I’m so glad I purchased this course – I’m already looking forward to watching it again to glean even more gems I can put to work.
