Erin made me feel comfortable with the process. Not so daunting after all. I’m looking forward to getting on with it now.
Very good class with a clear and easy-to-follow instructor. Great teacher!
Recently got my Creative Pass and I decided to explore the Creativelive library out of my usual fields of interest. Saw the title of the course and I said to myself - what is this? I literally had no idea about Screen Printing and that was actually the main reason I took the class. In just two hours I went from not having a clue to understanding the process and imagining me doing it :)) I'm not sure it will ever happen but I really enjoyed the class. Loved the style of teaching, very calm and confident, as well as the moderator's and students' questions which were filling up the gaps.
This class is a very basic class on making your first quilt out of square blocks. And on tieing a quilt. It is good on that level. She didn't go into much detail about how to work with different fabrics, advantages and disadvantages and different applications for say using jeans vs. linens vs. cotton. Or how to combine them so it does work. I did like that she wasn't from the quilting police and really encouraged us to try things. And to get stuff from Thrift stores, yards sales, etc.
I have been sewing for about 55 years and have made a few quilts. This class was better than I expected, in that it got me thinking about how I can use fabric scraps, fabric from my stash, and designer swatches I got from Fabmo in Sunnyvale!! The teacher had good ideas that you may not find in more traditional quilting classes. So not so perfectionistic and limiting. GO for it!
I love Betz. My most favourite instructor. Bought all her classes in another platform. Looking forward to more classes from her.
I really enjoyed this introductory class. I have always wanted to try Screen Printing and now I am even more excited to give it a go. Stay safe.
Great class, I look forward to trying Shibori techniques very soon.
Really well organized, clear instructions, very easy to follow!
Great intro for beginners. Good overview of the whole process and the equipment needed. Fantastic!
Betz is organized, pleasant, and interesting. I am enjoying her courses. I watched a free preview, and that sold me on getting all of her classes. Love you, Betz!
Great beginner course. Helpful terminology. Hope Erin provides a follow up for more complex printing (textiles please). Many thanks.
I watched all her three classes. They are all packed with lots of information.Thank you
Perfect introduction for beginners.
Wow, that was a great course. Erin is clear, engaging and encouraging. I would loooove to see a follow up course with her that explores some of the more advanced silk screen printing techniques that she mentions in the last segment. Great job!
What a thorough walkthrough for beginners. There are so many tips and Erin covers every single item that you'll need for every step of the process. She's got all the bases covered.
I am taking other tote classes this was the best class yet .Betz do a very good job teaching make it so easy any one could do. Even if it is your first time sewing this class is great. I plan to take all her classes.
I came across this video a couple years ago and have been wanting to try it. The instructions and technique were very clear. We're going to include an eight year old in the project so it will be fun to see how creative she will get!
I love this class. What a wonderful and easy techniques, Only problem is streaming. this class stopped at least 20 times.
Kaari is such a great teacher! She outlines the basic process and steps in the indigo dye process, and encourages experimentation. I enjoyed hearing the traditional terminology, and learning more about how indigo dye interacts with different types of fabrics. Kaari provides lots of tips for adapting your process for different materials, so you always get a deep, rich blue dye. It really got me brainstorming: I started seeing all sorts of things around my house as potential resists for my dye projects! I love that indigo dye projects turn out different every time, and that this should be celebrated! As Kaari mentions, indigo dye projects have a wabi sabi aesthetic, and there really are no mistakes.
I loved this class and the instructor. Excellent and informative. Thank you so much.
Woah! That class was jam-packed with goodies. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard on it!
This was a great beginner class for bag making. I make and sell bags and still watched it from beginning to end. She gives a lot of great pointers and explains each step along with the why and ways to change it to make the bag customized. I like the length of the class as you could watch the class and have enough time to sew while she is sewing.
I'm a self taught sewer. I've been sewing for years and wanted to try quilting. A family member asked me to make some memory quilts for her siblings, with their father's t-shirts who recently passed away. I of course made them before I saw this course available. I quilted the top & batting together (stitch in the ditch style) then used a minky back that I wrapped around the sides as it's binding. Now that I've seen this entire workshop, I realized I should have used a few more techniques to make it more stable to the backing. I learned a lot of things in this workshop! I would highly recommend this to others interested in quilting. I didn't find the camera angles annoying at all. I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and look forward to making even more quilts! Thank you!
5 stars +++++ I thoroughly enjoyed the whole course. I found that these classes gave me the understanding and confidence of sewing 'any' tote with both a slip and zipper pocket, etc. After watching these classes of Betz I'm able to put together my own tote without having to refer to patterns or instructions. I started as a beginner not able to figure my own dimensions. Now I have confidence to do just that. Yes, very happy I purchased this class and am happy with the confidence it has given me. Thanks Betz and creative live Cheers Lynnette
