I loved everything — the personal story, the artist's style, insights into living and working in Alaska, the tutorial in the wild, editing and the shooting process. These lessons are truly great, and I think I’ll watch them again to revisit some of the interesting details. Thanks!
One of, if not the best technical photography workshop on Creative Live. I can confidently say, regardless of your skill level from amateur to pro, you will get something from this workshop. Doesn’t speak down to you & uses clear, easy to understand terms, without insulting your intelligence. Highly recommend..
Love it! 💯
This is usable workshop for already established company. I didn't find it helpful for me personally because I'm at starting point of everything. I do photography for 2 years. I can imagine this can help someone who is already famous in his country and wants to expand and work with world brands. Otherwise, no, this is not for starting photographers.
This class is for intermediate to advanced print people. I enjoyed the smooth process of printing and would recommend it to others. Lots of information has been covered. Thank You)
What I like best is he is highly relatable, easy going and humble. Alex is upfront and practical. He recommends some brands, the ones that work good for him, but never downplays others.
I learned a lot in this course. From someone looking to explore multiple revenue streams in my photography career as a fine art photographer, Chirs does a great job explaining how the editorial and commercial photography spaces work—excellent job by all.
Wow! Excellent course. Finn and Alex delve into the specifics at every level, and the rationale and thought process behind each step. I really appreciate the attention to detail, and actionable information that I can apply to my work. Thank you so very much.
A great course/workshop, one of the best I've seen with CreativeLive. While at 71 I'm not looking at starting a full new carrier in freelance photography or video work, doing the work helps keep me off the street. It has given me inspiration to do a stoty about what I am going through now as a full time caretaker for my wife, who has been suffering the declining pains of Alzheimer's for a few years now. No one with Alzheimer's travels that final journey alone. In a sence it is an adventure, mostly for those close to the one with the disease. While it's not like the travels I did 50 years ago when what today is called "adventure" (canyoneering, something we used to simply call a hike in the desert...). I spent a lot of my life running rivers and working as a wilderness wanderer and guide/instructor. Now my travels are pretty well limited to long walk with the dog and occasional fishing outings with my wife who used to be a guide herself. Maybe thats not all that interesting or exciting as say going over a cliff with a bike and a parachute, but for many older folks it is the new story, the new adventure as their later years unfold. This in itself will be an adventure, at least for me.
Great class! I walked away understanding the pros of printing my own photos without feeling intimidated. Well Done
Fantastic practical advice
Through and also to the point! Well worth the watch, and I feel confident to print on my own now.
Thank you. Lots of good information. Well done.
Chris really is a gem. There's a lot of noise on the social media nowadays and he is one of the few photographers whose work consistently appears iconic. This course does exactly what it says on the tin. It provides all the essential know-how for photographers ready to make the jump from semi professional to pro.
I don't own a printer nor can I afford one, however Alex heavily inspired me to sift through my hard drives/portfolio, create a new catalogue for printing, and start practicing. Very well done. Feedback: I'm still curious to see the workflow differences between LR and resizing for a print in Photoshop.
I would recommend it for anyone trying to understand the print process better but, I think Alex needs to work on speaking a bit clearer and maybe slow down a bit when he is moving his cursor around in LR as was difficult to keep up with him and to see what he was doing.
Simply outstanding!
I bought Finn's book 'the Photography Storytelling Workshop' a few years back and it absolutely blew my mind helping me to land my first commercial photography gigs. This online workshop builds nicely upon what the book couldn't cover. Highly recommended.
This is more than just a business guide. This is a glimpse into a side of Chris that you don't get to see elsewhere. The first lesson has bits of documentary sprinkled in alongside the brutal honesty of what it took for him to build things up to where they are now.
One of the best workshops I have seen in the last years! Thank you for this!
Great intro class from one of the masters of adventure photography
This is one of the best workshops I have taken. I don't specifically do this type of work with my photography but I still learned so much that I can apply. I could listen to Finn talk about photography all day
One of the best Workshops I've ever watched, Finn is thorough in telling about his process, and how he approaches each job. It was very inspiring.
Guiding light This workshop is at the same time brightly illuminating the path and warmly encouraging and reassuring that everything you dreamt or wanted to do is there for you to grasp. It is irrelevant if you are a professional or newbies like myself, Alex build the foundations for a fulfilling life whether this will be in photography or in anything else!
Why Pay Someone Half My Age For Advice? I may be much older than Alex Strohl but this young man imparts great wisdom. He's accomplished and grounded, and his easy way in front of the camera is as inspiring as his work behind one.
