I have been blogging for more than 20 years. I started out with personal blogs then eventually shifted into blogging and other forms of content creation professionally (part time) in the areas of fitness, nutrition, and wellness while I also train and teach classes. I took this course because I've been contemplating make this my full time work. This was a great review of some blogging basics AND I learned a few new tips and tricks that I plan to implement right away. I particularly enjoyed the discussion about LinkedIn blogging. What a great way to add portfolio pieces that can be viewed by potential clients/employers! Great class! I highly recommend it!r

The instructor was very knowledgeable and motivated, and it was a good intro course to creating a blog, but I thought it fell short in a few ways. Everything about the course, the teacher, students, examples of blogs, subjects and photos, etc., was oriented to women. The course description didn't mention this and I felt out of place and lost interest after while. The course was mostly talking and included too little showing of actual websites, photos, or screenshots of processes of using WordPress, etc. Last, of the photos and blog pictures actually used, most were of and by the teacher, making this feel like a promotion for her business as much as a paid class.

I’m only on the second segment but I just had to express how amazing this class is! She is very knowledgeable and thorough and I find the input of the live students very helpful. I give the presenter and the class 5 stars.

I enjoyed the course, it gave me a perspective I did not have.
-
Lots of great information! I can't wait to get started revamping my blog.

As a new writer, I found this fantastic. Darren was a pleasure to listen to and I would happily recommend this to anyone who is starting out writing for the first time in regards to a small business blog, which is the area that I am coming from. He probably has taught me to use fewer words, but that can wait until tomorrow. Great class Darren

Packed with information and great actionable tips! You get so much for the money, awesome class! Thank you!

I got *so much* out of this course. I learned a great deal from it, and my blog is better for it.
-
Great course, full of insights.
-
I thought this was a great class! Lots of great content and action tips you can use today to either start blogging or being better blogger. Highly recommend this class for new bloggers.
-
This course... it's so helpful! I'm her ideal reader:) She's so knowledgeable, and explains it well.
-
Great tips on blogging, well presented by Darren. Very informative. So glad I came across this class. :)
-
I thought this was a good course on writing effective blog posts. It didn't seem to be too focused on driving traffic, however, his way of presenting his thoughts and tips were easy to watch in a single shot. Great course for non-writers who are trying to become writers!
-
I would NOT recommend this course to anyone who's had a blog and had some experience with blogging. The course really doesn't focus on writing a blog post that drives traffic. It's really Blogging 101 for newbies an the title is misleading. That said, Darren's easy to listen to and he's a very professional speaker. He knows a lot more than he shares here.

Great course, the content was clear and to the point. It is simply the best blogging education i came trough. Thx creative live.

There was a lot of good content here for anyone new to blogging. I am not new to it, but I did gain some insight. Just a note: the 4 EASY STEPS TO LOSE WEIGHT was an intentionally satirical/ironic headline, which you discover once you get to step 3. Step 3 was "getting your heart broken", which I'm guessing anyone would agree is actually far from easy. The humor and sudden depth of meaning are the reason the post got so many likes and comments.

At 52 years old, I just started my own Photography business and feel so overwhelmed with all the social media programs that I need to learn but also learn how to market my business correctly and effectively. This is my first class on marketing and I love April and how she breaks it all down in laymen terms. April I can not thank you enough for making me feel like " I can do this! "

While I would recommend this course, I must say, the speaker is informative; however, she uses a increasingly common habit, Vocal fry, or glottalization and it drives me to distraction. Vocal Fry or glottalization is a low, staccato vibration during speech, produced by a slow fluttering of the vocal cords. Since the 1960s, vocal fry has been recognized as the lowest of the three vocal registers, which also include falsetto and modal—the usual speaking register. Speakers creak differently according to their gender, although whether it is more common in males or females varies among languages. In American English, anecdotal reports suggest that the behavior is much more common in women. (In British English, the pattern is the opposite.) Historically, continual use of vocal fry was classified as part of a voice disorder that was believed to lead to vocal cord damage. However, in recent years, researchers have noted occasional use of the creak in speakers with normal voice quality. Before she records again, she would be well served, as well as her potential audience would be better able to listen and learn without annoyance if she broke this habit post haste. Otherwise, she is endearing and informative.

Been a great course so far, although i personally expected some more template approach and lots more details on traffic. but overall i enjoyed the class. i rilly think every trainer here at creative live should have a personally signed certificate of completion attached to the classes. it will be lovely to have a proof that can be used for professional purpose. thumbs up !!

Greate course....I got so much good useful stuff...April is giving it all...and the audience also...I am so inspied to make changes after gerting many aha'n. Thanks🌼👌

Thanks for the great insights into keeping it real!! ig: outprojects

Great course! Just want to point out a typo in the presentation. "Tenants" of journalism - should be "Tenets" - a tenant lives in an apartment - a tenet is a principle or belief. Just thought you'd want to know! Thanks! shannon borg

Such a great course by an awesome presenter. Loved this course and learned a lot.

I really enjoyed this class! It made me think outside of the box and put into perspective what I really wanted to do with my creativity. Thank you April for putting this course together! You truly are a great teacher and presenter!

Wonderful! April presents in exactly the voice she teaches, with warmth, interest, and humility. I don't even have a blog nor any plans to keep one and I watched for two hours.
