It was true to life and yes, a bit chaotic. But I enjoyed it, it shows the work that often does go into a session with all the multitasking. I got some great ideas for poses, and learned some new way to interact with younger children. Thank you for a honest session and not a perfect planned one.

I do agree that some aspects of this class was pure chaos but that's mainly because there was no assistant to help Vicky who seems to be a master of multitasking. I don't think that her style or techniques are easy to implement because it does require certain type of personality - just like she said - that's her and people come to her because of who she is. I still learned loads, especially how to effectively use furniture. Thanks a lot for this course, Vicky! :)

Highly recommended. I gained practical skills and inspiration. Definitely worthwhile for professional family photographers.

I thoroughly enjoyed this class, Tamara Lackey is an amazing individual and trainer! I loved what she said about not letting ourselves be diminished by someone else's narrow view... This class touches on many business related topics, I had many "aha" moments and feel excited and committed to tackle various aspects of my business in small steps!! Thanks for sharing so much of you!!!

Just to be clear - this is families with ** smaller children ** You do get to see Vicki interact with a live family and with pets. I was just hoping to cover adult & older children as well.

This course was really good! I specifically appreciated Tamara's insight into different children's personalities, how that appears on camera and how to work with each. I did find her comments about Adobe Lightroom were inaccurate, but that didn't take away from the course! I also really appreciated her critique of child portraits near the end--I took copious notes and am excited to try incorporating what I've learned into my next shoot.

Tamara Lackey brings amazing energy to her teaching and shooting style. She shared a ton of tips and tricks for capturing the true character and personality of each child in both individual and group portraits. I have always found it to be particularly difficult to capture portraits of multiple children that are composed to be both visually interesting and true to their unique story. I learned so much about directing and communicating effectively with child subjects, and how to use my gear and other tools to streamline the process and keep it all fun for the family. No matter how much you think you know about photographing children, this class is an asset that you will not regret! Thank you Tamara Lackey!

All I have to say is - Vicki you are a saint. To handle four kids, dog and their parents too, not to mention a class of students watching...AND YOU'RE TAKING PHOTOS, GOOD ONES!! All I know is, I could not handle that as you have even though I was a teacher for 25 years (K-12, all of them) - and wonderful people like you are far and few between. May you stay healthy and happy and continue interacting with kids and parents - you really have a talent! (I had to turn the sound off on the vid because it was driving me crazy,, with kids, dog, etc etc!)

I own I think all of Julia's classes. This is probably my favorite. I will say that it's because its exactly the type of photography I have been wanting to focus on. So the information was extremely valuable to me. But I do love all of Julia's classes and you can learn so much from her as a mentor regardless of the type of portraits you shoot. Thanks Julia for a wonderful class I have watched it multiple times!

I absolutely loved the course!!! The teacher was extremely engaging, so much so, I lost track of time... I learned more from this course than any other I have subscribed to. Both Vicki and her husband are positive and passionate in their delivery. They also have developed a level of expertise and a passion to share their knowledge honestly. It wasn't about ego, but rather, a genuine helpful attitude, which was so refreshing!

I love Tamara's tips for working with common personality types found in children. I also love that class allows you to be "fly on the wall" during her photo shoots. It's so helpful for me to see how other photographers engage their subjects (especially children). Tamara brings a ton of energy, excitement and playfulness to her shoots. It opened my eyes to how fun (and how exhausting) a photo shoot can be when you give it your all. Great class!

Tamara Lackey is engaging, energetic, knowledgeable and humorous. This two day class is perfect for artists who have creative skills but need development with business skills. I expected this class to be all business, but I was pleasantly surprised that she delved into the physical (studio space), mental and emotional barriers (confidence) that hinder photographers from reaching their goals. Some of my biggest takeaways from this course are not only the business tips but also life lessons. Such a great class!!

I really loved going beyond the theory and seeing live examples with dynamic situations in the studio. I feel much better equipped to assess my clients and get great looks from them now that I can recognize where their personalities are and adjust my approach.

My favorite part was seeing how Julia's business evolved over time and transformed into what it is today. Good tips for finding inspiration to develop a niche and practical marketing advice. I'm glad I took this alongside Tamara's business class - the two photographers had very different approaches to their business and shooting family photography in many ways, but it really illustrators how there's no one way to do everything. I learned so much from both of them.

I'm not even a children's photographer but this was so interesting I ended up watching the whole thing when it was streaming. I can see why it's fun photographing children. I've been trying to guess which of the 6 personality types the kids I know best fit into ever since I watched this!

Great class with an engaging teaching style. I like how Tamera both gave a lot of attention to the psychological barriers that get in the way of running successful businesses and also included practical steps with concrete examples. For a two day class, it had a lot of depth.

This course was fantastic. I learned more on what I need to improve and change in my business. I especially liked learning how she balances all the things in her life. She is a fantastic teacher who keeps you engaged throughout the course. Thank you creativelive and Tamara for producing such a great course!

I really like the way Tamara approaches the process of photographing kids. The way she explains things is really easy to follow and the child profiles are so helpful.

Tamara is such a great source of inspiration to me, I have watched / bought almost all her courses and she really helped me get the best out of my business.

Vicki Täufer is such an amazing instructor! The energy she brought to this class was incredible and inspiring. Group posing is something that I really struggle with, and fear. It was insane watching her light, direct, and roll with the punches during this class to efficiently capture portraits that flatter and brighten her subjects. I learned so, SO much today that I cannot wait to try out on a model call. Learning about the strategies that she and her husband/business partner use in their post-production and sales process was so much icing on the cake! The content in this class is going to make me so much money! Thank you Vicki & Jed!
