Surface Pattern Design

This is the course I’ve been waiting for. I’ve taken lots of online courses, most well overpriced, but this is the first time I actually felt like I was in the room being taught by a professional. I followed the course making notes and now I’ll go back to the beginning with illustrator open to practice what I’ve learned. Thank you for this fantastic course, it’s given me everything from how to find inspiration to marketing and manufacture. I hope the students in the class went on to enjoy success, I shall definitely be looking out for other courses from Bonnie. Thank you

What a feast I had following this course! I enjoyed every minute of it! I loved Bonnie's way of explaining things by doing them over and over, sharing all the golden nuggets of making patterns, sharing her work and style of working to inspire her students...Thank you very much! I wish it had not taken me so much time to get into this course (I bought it a couple of years back and only finished it now after a long break in the middle of the course). But better late than never :-). Now it's the time to dive deep into the creativity ocean. Thank you once again!

I'm only halfway through the class and can't believe how excellent it is. The breadth of topics and techniques covered is vast. If I'd only come seeking a tutorial in Illustrator, I'd feel satisfied but she gives so much more information and tips about how to get started as an independent artist in the surface design industry, plus bonus materials and tips. Bonnie speaks at a good pace for taking notes, she shows you every step in a technique and having an audience that asks periodic questions help make this class learner-friendly. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Wow! I don't know if I'm able to find words to express how grateful I'm for this course. It is complete and easy to follow. Bonnie is a great teacher. I'm excited to start creating my own patterns. Such a fantastic course, the best one I've ever taken of any topic. Bonnie is a very good teacher, not only delving into how to achieve an effect but why you might do it in a certain way, along with offering multiple approaches. She shares it all: technique and technology, artistry, business management, product expansion, and more. They're not part of the course "offering" persay, but I also really appreciated the in-person attendees. Bright and curious, they asked great questions and it was inspiring to see their passion light up with the new information as well.

Wow, thanks Bonnie. This was the most comprehensive hand's on course that has helped me to understand the workings of designing in Illustrator. You are a natural at instructing, let alone designing. Cannot recommend this course enough.

Bonnie Christine's course was absolutely invaluable. I took my time and meandered through each lesson, jotting down notes, practicing in Illustrator as I went along. I took it on as a journey with no pressure to rush as I truly wanted to grasp her concepts and methodology. I am hopeful that over the next months my understanding and comfort level deepens and I can be ready for her Immersion 2021 course. Highly recommend.

Class was helpful but a bit out of date. Bonnie owned an iphone ver 5 and many of the tools have evolved over the last 5 years so tricky in some videos to follow along - had to google tools to find where they were located. Might be helpful to add the date this was created (2015?).

Worth subscribing to the annual pass for this course alone. I'm a fairly competent Illustrator user and I learned so much I didn't know. Bonnie's teaching style is concise and flows well. Great support material too - fantastic value for money!

Highly recommend this course. Bonnie explains things clearly, even a person with the most basic of illustrator skills (me) can create with confidence and have a lot of fun doing it. I am so happy I did this course, it has opened up a whole new world to me.

Amazing Course and so well taught, I just love it. I came across it because of the striking pattern designs in the snippet for the course, they are just beautiful, but my main reason for taking it was to learn illustrator in order to be able to create patterns and designs for online printable for my website (I don't know anything about fabric) and it does that wonderfully well too.

This is the by far the best class I've taken on Creative Live. I've taken classes elsewhere on Adobe Illustrator and learned only a smidgen of what I learned from Bonnie. She repeats what she's doing often throughout the class, not just once, so you really get it. I love her teaching style and I felt that she really does care about what she's teaching and that her students learn all that she knows. Excellent and highly recommended. Thank you Bonnie!

Before I started this course, I already had some knowledge of digital surface pattern design, having already done another online short course on it. However, this course taught me so much more. Initially I was going to skip the basics that I already knew, but watching those lessons actually taught me new techniques and shortcuts. I really liked that Bonnie walked us through ways of finding inspiration and taught us to nurture our creativity and find our own style. This course takes you from the very, very beginning, right up to the exciting parts of presenting and supplying patterns to sell. So, whether you are already a pattern designer or if you are completely new to this, I would highly recommend this course. For me, it has been a huge step in my journey towards becoming a surface pattern designer, and I love that I can always return to specific lessons if I need to. Fantastic course.

I have so far only watched part of Lesson 1 on free class day and I have purchased the class. Bonnie, I love you. You are so free and open and caring. I would watch your class multiple times just for the encouragement. I look forward to seeing the rest!

The course looks great. Bonnie is as amazing as her designs. However, I don't see the downloads enabled for me. Are they only available if I buy the course??
