Action - Find Out If Our Products Pass The Keyword Test
In this video, we're going to see if our products past the keyword test and what this test is is the top three keywords for the product have a combined 100,000 searches or more per month, the tool we're gonna use to determine. This is called keyword planner, which is a part of Google adwords and it's a free tool and I'm gonna show you how to do this right now, hop over to your internet browser and in google, type in keyword planner and we want to click on the first link that shows up, that's adwords dot google dot com slash keyword planner. Once we're here, you're gonna want to sign into your google account. If you already have on and if you don't already have a google account, you can create an account really easily for free. So I'm gonna sign in now and now that were signed in, you're most likely going to be taken to this page, which is the page that we want. But if for example it took you to another page, let's say campaigns, all you would have to do to get to the keyword planner, w...
hich is what we want is to click on tools and then click on keyword planner. Now that we're here, we're going to search for new keywords using a phrase website or category and we're gonna type in the double dog leash and click get ideas. The double dog leash is a very specific phrase and it's unlikely that people are going to search for it. But what we can do is look at the searches for terms that are related and we're gonna add the top three here. For the sake of our criteria, google gives us a range and we're going to go with the highest end of this range. So although the range is 1,010,000, we're gonna count this term as 10,000 monthly searches. So if you look at the top three, we have 10,000 here add a million to that here And 100,000 here And that's well above the 100,000 searches per month. And for that reason, if we go back to our criteria we can check off. Yes, it passes the keyword test. Now let's take a look at the acrylic stapler Here, we have for the first keyword, another 1000 for the second keyword 10,000 for the 3rd keyword. This product does not have anywhere close to 100,000 searches per month. And for that reason I'm gonna go back and say no it does not pass the keyword test. Finally we have the belly casket. And if you look at the belly cast kit, we have 10, for the first search term, 20,000 for the second, 30,000 for the third, Which does not pass 100,000. And for that reason I'm going to go and check no for the criteria in this video, we found out if our products past the keyword test in the next video we're gonna see if we could create a product listing that would beat our competitors, pause this video now and don't move on until you've determined whether or not your products past the keyword test.
