How does lookalike audience targeting work? Let's say your customers as gentleman on the left. Yes, it's Bob Saget, he's 59 years old. He's male. He's high net worth and he uses a mac, the ads manager platform. We'll take a look at all of those attributes and they'll find a certain percentage of the population that matches your customer In the most relevant ways. And so what they found for us here is this lovely gentleman, very handsome gentleman on the right. He's 51 years old, he's male, he's high net worth and he's an iphone user. So they're similar enough in terms of age group. They're similar enough in terms of demographic. They're slightly different in terms of device usage, but they're common enough and they're similar enough that the thought is that this gentleman on the right is going to behave very similarly as our current customer. So he might respond to messages in a similar way, he might be interested in our products and services, the way that the customer, our current cus...

tomers are and therefore he is highly likely to be someone who's going to want to hear from us and want to engage with our brand and product and service. So some best practices when it comes to creating lookalike audiences is you want to use your highest converting custom audiences as the seed audience, then you generate a look alike audience against that group of people, meaning if you are going to be creating a custom audience off of those people that have already made a purchase with you that are already loyal to your brand or your company, you'd want to then create a look alike audience that mirrors that group because they are then highly likely to convert with you as well. It's the most efficient way to scale your instagram marketing efforts to generate convergence and revenue for your clients and it's definitely a best practice that you should keep in mind. And this is how that works. So going into back into ads manager to create a look alike audience, you will have to select a seat audience. And as mentioned, a best practice here is to select your highest converting seat audience in order to create a look alike audience against it.
