Amplification: Getting More From What's Working
so far we've covered the first three phases of the personal branding framework, we have the plumbing which is all the setup of our assets, we have the asset production which is the framework that we're building upon the facebook page, the emails, the linkedin, the website, all these components, we've talked about the editing and distribution of that content on where it lives and the last stage is amplification. Amplification is using techniques to be able to get more out of what's working. And the most common kind of amplification is advertising. Let's start with facebook for a dollar a day which is our favorite way to boost you can boost post on any social network on any digital platform but we find that facebook is the gorilla of social media in the same way that google is the gorilla of search. opic wheel and the ones that carry the most authority remember we talked about scoring authority based on this 30 point system. Take those items and boost them for $1 a day for seven days. Some people will say to me oh well I'm a big shot and I want to get there faster, I'm gonna put $10 a day. No no no no no start with $1 a day for seven days then you've spent $7 and then the data comes back to you and you can determine did it do well or did it not if it did well now put $30 for 30 days. So again a dollar a day then I'll put $ for another week. Then I'll put $1000 as long as it's starting to do well, we'll talk later about what that means and how something is doing well. Other people ask, how often should I post? Let's say you recorded a bunch of one minute videos. Maybe you got back those edited videos from Fiverr and they're ready to post. Unless you already have a huge public figure page. I'd say just post them all at once. Oh no, but people will be overwhelmed with all the content that I'm posting all at once. Now the issue is that you're not even getting reached to begin with. So I wouldn't even worry about that. The average facebook page has 3% reach. So if you have your 1000 fans, only 30 people are seeing it anyway. So don't worry about that. Just post all your stuff and start boosting it for a dollar day and you're going to start to find certain patterns are going to emerge. What are those themes that you could choose your topics on what you think. People are going to resonate with. You could choose different videos and think what you believe, people who people are going to resonate with. But until you put it out there, let the data tell you the system is so smart, it's going to tell you who the winners are and that will give you direction and where you're going with your topic will, it tells you what topics you want to go after. It tells you who else you should create more content with. It tells you where you should focus on your editing, it tells you what kind of style to do. Maybe you find that 15 2nd vertical videos work really well for you because you're in the health and fitness space and entertainment people or you have a younger audience, they want to, I know I'm stereotyping with like Snapchat and Tiktok, but you'll learn about your audience and what kind of content they'll produce. The biggest problem I see here beyond not doing it is pre assuming who your audience is and pre assuming what content is going to work when you have that public figure page that's starting to generate power. Then you're able to trace those users all the way through from the y to the how to the what now we're gonna move to a screen share. I'm gonna show you looking at actual data from my account, we're gonna log in and from some of the accounts of friends of ours that have volunteered their data so you can see exactly how they've been producing content, how they're evaluating what's working according what we call the standards of excellence and how they're able to monetize that so that they're able to sell their products and services based on content that they produced and sequence people along the way that is a profitable, personal brand.
