Color Techniques For Retouching with Lisa Carney

Another awesome course by Lisa Carney, packed full of information This course is really a comprehensive look at colors ... I learned so much, and even stuff I thought I knew pretty well, I found some pretty eye opening new information. I find Lisa Carney to be a wonderful teacher. When she has an important point to make she'll say her point, pause and then repeat what she just said, just to lock it into your memory. Fantastic. Side note: I signed up for the CreativeLive creative pass as soon as I realized how great all of Lisa Carney's classes are. I'd started to buy them one by one and quickly realized they are all wonderful. You can watch this class from beginning to end and get great information ... but to get the most bang for the buck you'll want to pause, hit rewind, get a cup of coffee, open Photoshop and try out her tips while you watch. There are sections I rewound and watched about 5 times, to be sure I understood all the subtle points. Lisa Carney is pretty amazing - she works really hard to thoroughly explain the process she uses to solve problems, and she never glosses over anything important. To cover a particular point, she'll start with a finished file with all the layers - and instead of simply explaining each layer like a mortal would do, she'll literally delete all the adjustment layers and start from scratch to show the process. This is incredibly empowering since it gives you an understanding of just how easy the process can be once you get the hang of it

Lisa's classes are AMAZING! So much information - I have to make sure I spend enough time on each section! Fantastic - well worth the time and $$'s.

No doubt, Lisa is a great profesional and maybe is not a perfect teacher but her courses are worth while. My only comment is that you should know in advanced some pointsin order to not get frustrated with them: there are not easy to follow, you have to work hard with them, make exercises with your photos and very often you should go back to repeat some parts. Last but not least there are not for beguinners. If that is the case, you shoul take some courses available in Creative Live. Nevertheless, I recommend all her courses. Specially, I recommend this one if you are interested in printing your photos.

I own all of Lisa's classes. She is NOT a good teacher, BUT she is an absolute expert in retouching in Photoshop. With her classes, you have to work through them slowly, keep rewinding, take screenshots and notes of all the little gems she passes to you. After your headache is gone, you will realize that you just gained a wealth of information. All of Lisa's classes are fast paced, go off on tangents, and it's hard to stay on track but they are well worth the time.

Lisa is an amazing instructor who can make advanced color and retouching topics seem easy. I use Lisa's classes to further my knowledge on topics that are barely covered in my photography classes at school and subsequently, allow me to produce results that are professional.

Love, love, love, her years in a serious professional capacity shows through.

This is a wonderful class. Not a single watch class because it is jam packed. The workbook is wonderfully amazing! I love that she gives different ways of doing the same thing.

She's an excellent teacher, one of the best I've seen. The great thing about her is she can backup everything she teaches with real world example. The class moves fast and is not for the beginner. Having said that I will be taking more of her classes (5 Stars).

I think this class has less-than-stellar reviews because, frankly put, it's very difficult. This isn't a 2+2=4 type of class that we all wish existed, especially for something as complicated as color grading. There are no filters and there are no shortcuts. This is hard, time-consuming stuff and it will irritate you. That's not the instructor's fault. Consider this class an encyclopedia of tools that you consult gradually over time—rather than something you knock out in a day and absorb completely. I've used Photoshop for a decade. I have been working on this course for over a month and I'm just now finishing it up. I have learned a good deal of new tricks, and more importantly, I've learned how and why these tools work the way they do. That control is the true recipe for creativity within Photoshop.

This course has an abundance of useful information along with professional tips based on actual field experience. This course is definitely one I will come back to from time to time to reiterate the information. For this reason the way it is organised is perfect to find information about a specific technique or adjustment layer. It is well composed with some humour and advanced information. Loved it and highly recommend it for people who want to deal with the little details and get things exactly the way they want. Not suitable for lazy or sloppy people who just want to get the job good enough for sharing but don't care about getting it perfect for print.

I am really enjoying this class! Lisa makes complicated concepts easy to understand. She presents various ways of doing things so that you have options and can use the method that best works for your own situation. She moves quickly through the material, which I appreciate, and I since I own the class I know I can go back and review material when I need to. I love her style and approach to teaching, as well as her real world anecdotes and the way she shares her experience, both good and bad examples from her career. I'm so glad I purchased this class!

This class was so helpful. It's been a couple months since it aired, and I'm still referring back to it and applying techniques I learned from Lisa. Especially loved the tips about solar curves, though it was a bit painful to go back and examine some of my earlier work with them.

Excellent course! Introduction and instruction in many advanced techniques for correcting/adjust color in images. I love that she covered so many topics. The workbook is incredibly valuable. I liked following along in that while I watched. I'll have to revisit this video a few times, so I'm awfully glad I purchased it.

Advanced color by one of the best digital artist's in the business! I love Lisa Carney's workflow strategy in Photoshop and problem-solving approach to editing.
