Apple Final Cut Pro X: In-Depth with Larry Jordan

This is a great class, however, its very outdated. I'm watching this in August of 2020 and many parts are hard to follow along with, or i have to pause and google often to find out how to do things in the latest version. If I had known I may have purchased something different.

Larry is an outstanding expert in the subject and an excellent teacher. There is so much to learn about FCPX and I think I will have to view this course several times, but already I feel I know more than enough to get started. An excellent tutorial and well worth the price.

Do you believe in serendipity? I've been tasked with building the replacement for my video/photography class as it relocates from a tech school to an art school. That move will require new equipment purchases including editing infra structures that will support 4K digital cinema productions. I've been editing for a very long time. (I even cut 16mm Bugs Bunny cartoons for local broadcast many years ago.) But I admit I never had a proper understanding of the storage vs. computer argument until now. So buying the proper raids has become top of my purchasing list thanks to the very first lesson in this series.

This. course. is. EXCEPTIONAL. Larry is a profoundly gifted teacher and I have learned so much in just the first few lessons it is mind-boggling. Not only will you learn how to edit on FCPX you'll also gain a much deeper understanding of how to structure your drives and storage to create maximum efficiency in the editing process. HIGHLY recommend this course.

I am only in as deep as the first two videos and already I can tell that I will come away from this course with a great understanding of the software...and I'm going to enjoy the process. Not all educators are created equal, and Larry is on top of it. Organized, well spoken, takes questions well and never stumbles I'm really excited to finally wrap my head around FCPX!

I am sooooo happy to have bought this course! I've never worked with FCPX -- Larry Jordan is an EXCELLENT teacher -- no need to monkey around looking for videos elsewhere - this one is really, really great. Well presented, and a reference to go back to when I need it. Plus I happen to enjoy Larrys' dry sense of humor. Would love to see more FCPX with him.

I followed several courses about FCPX. But after this course, things came alive. Well worth the money. The way Larry teaches is clear, practical and very understandable. He places things in perspective and explains things about soft- and hardware like bitrates, codecs, ram etc. you should now as well. Questions of the viewers and the three guys in the studio are a well appreciated bonus. The only downside is that the title "up-to-date" suggests it will cover FCP 10.3 as well, but this is not the case. Nevertheless I am very happy with this course, so I am looking forward to the FCP 10.3 version. Please CREATIVE LIVE: offer it soon!

I was wondering why I should buy this course when there are so many free Final cut X videos on YouTube. I am happy I decided to spend the hundred bucks! Larry doesn’t just teach you the software; he teaches you about computers, about workflow, about editing…He teaches you how to get that story out of your head and onto the screen.

Larry is the best teacher I have ever studied under. I am 58! That says a lot. He is a gold mind of knowledge and makes it all very understandable mixed with some dry humor! I am thankful I found this class. Thanks Larry!

I have finally finished watching all the sessions, stopping and replaying sections to work on my own project so Larry Jordan's screen and mine matched. Great instruction for a newcomer who has just moved up from iMovie! I would not have bought Final Cut Pro X without having bought this course. Hope he will do a second course.

Final Cut Pro with Larry Jordan has been of enormous help to me just stating in FCPX. Larry has a unique way of getting the message on the basics across in an easy to understand manner. I have not yet looked at the entire course as I am practicing the steps as I go through the course. Many programs of FCP are not presented in the easy to follow manner thatL array does so well. I am 100% delighted with my purchase. I am in Sydney, Australia, and, due to the time difference it is impractical to view courses live. So I had to purchase on trust which in this case was a good choice. It would be good if Creative Live could perhaps rerun programs so overseas folks could view them at a convenient time. The courses still need to be purchased as I find it best to run it on another monitor and put what is taught into practice. Well done and thanks for the special offer in July.

There are not enough superlatives for Larry Jordan and for this course. I was a faithful FCP user until FCP X. I switched to Premiere and was quite impressed with it. As it turned out, I had just returned from a week of shooting footage and was looking for something more "efficient". The day I returned home was the first day of this course so I downloaded the trial version and decided to give it another shot. I AM GLAD I DID! My faith was restored in FCP and my love for editing refueled.

Pretty good. Definitely up to Larry Jordan standards. Bit home-spun and mumsy at times but that's much better than being aloof or 'down wiv the yoof'. Could perhaps have been a little more detailed at times, but have a sneaky feeling that more will sink in after a few views with the FCX software alongside. Good value for money, recommended.

I purchased FCP X on the same day as I purchased my Larry Jordan class. Within a couple of days I was able to produce a good quality product that I am using within my business. Larry's teaching approach is fantastic. He is clear and concise and he breaks the subject up in such a way that you're never left wondering if you might have missed something. This was the perfect class for me, and I'm so glad I bought it!

I had taken a Lynda course in Final Cut X and learned only 1/10th of what Larry had to Offer. Really hit on all the Points necessary to make Final Cut Sing! A good investment, I am sure I'll be watching more than once.

At the moment I am very busy taking film and don't have much time to look at this course but what I have seen it is very informative. Larry Jordan has a super in-depth knowledge of Final Cut he also has a superb way of putting the different ways and means of working with Final Cut Pro over and my first views are very good indeed.

So, you have the best nle in the world - what do you do now? Why, you have a humongous training event given by the only person who can pull all the strings together intelligibly and with humour. With the understanding that all 'students' aren't always on the same level, he manages to engage everyone no matter their experience. Skills are quickly improved, difficult techniques mastered, and a much better understanding of the the power of FCPX. The combination of CreativeLive know-how and the delivery of Mr Larry Jordan is truly impressive. Attending this class was really a life-changing experience. Larry is a wonderful teacher and clearly on top of the program and methodology, and the way he structured the course, did frequent reviews and constant technique reminders (naming keyboard shortcuts as he did them, for example) really added a lot to the presentation. The depth of the class was very much appreciated, and his command of a complex subject showed that it was possible. I have wanted to understand FCP for several years and have only gotten the beginnings of a handle on it in the last 6 months or so. This class was an exponential knowledge upload and I hope will allow me to do lots of things I've only wondered about. I thought Jim was a good foil for Larry and did a nice job keeping things together, even when there was a technical problem. The value for me of being able to sit through the class before deciding to purchase was huge, and I am very much looking forward to reviewing the videos as questions come up. Larry Jordan is the go-to person for training on FCPX. I was thrilled to learn that this course would be offered by CreativeLive. I wasn't disappointed, and there was so much information to absorb I took 20+ pages of notes. Even with that, I knew that I had to have the course for later review. Now that I "own" the course, I can access it from their server at any time. Another plus is to have the indexed course, enabling me to go to the section I need.

This is a fantastic course. Tons of useful material, and Larry does a great job of educating, entertaining, and making simplifying the complex. There is so much information, it would be great to have a more detailed index as to what is in each segment in order to go back and review or search for items or topics quicker. Thanks
