I like his classes, I have watched them before. I thought this one would newer. I signed up just to watch his series on here and they are a bit outdated. Also, he seems very parched. Drinks a lot during the class. It’s more of a photoshop course.
I really enjoyed this class and can say I learned quite a bit. Mike Kelley's delivery was dynamic and sincere. Thank you for sharing !
I enjoyed this class, with clear explanations.
I thought this class was valuable especially with how Mike demonstrated light painting and post production techniques in Photoshop. Thanks Mike.
This was very informative, I don't understand the complaints. Score of a deal.
Very good basic course. Not too detailed but I found it useful and helpful with some good general info on architectural architecture. Some info on running a business and some on architectural photography.
For sure !! amazing classes !
Firstly this course should be renamed to just Architectural Photography. There's very little information here about shooting real estate photography. Mike Kelley is more of a fine art architecture photographer and the techniques he shows are not really relevant for real estate photography. Kelley's well-known for his blue hour shots and with these he often sets his camera up for a few hours and documents the changing light to later blend into one image. His work is very Photoshop intensive and each photo could require a few hours post-processing in PS. Real estate photography generally requires a complete house to be shot in less than an hour and delivered to the realtor in 24-48hrs. The course is more of interest to those wanting to shoot high-end architecture or interior design projects. Kelley gives some great tips on the business side - how to do marketing, attracting new clientele, how to maintain a healthy relationship with your clients, what to do when things go wrong. Kelley also discusses what gear he uses including the very useful tilt-shift lenses, geared head on his tripod for fine control, shooting tethered, and also some of the lighting he uses. The course features a photoshoot that Kelley did of a historic theatre, and he discusses the techniques he used to capture the images as well as how he processed them in Photoshop. The course was enjoyable & informative, and Mike Kelley is an engaging & fun presenter, with a laid-back style.
Informative class if you if you already have the fundamentals down. Great to peak into his approach with dealing with clients, shooting, and post production!
If you are into architectural photography and need some tips to tighten your game, this is it. My KEY takes were: Using the gradient tool more for FILLS instead of CONTENT-AWARE, Taking a lot of photos to blend them later is okay, use light-painting in tough situations, go with your gut and chill the hell out.
Love this class! No bla bla, only useful information. Thank you :)
It's a short, condensed course covering the basics, so if you are looking for detailed techniques about how to take the pics, this is not your course. But it's really good for someone who already have some knowledge about photography and is looking to expand into this area. I find it very informative and helpful!! Great tips!!!
I am not new to Architectural Photography but I am struggling with a few aspects of photoshop that Mike cleared up for me in this class. As for the negative responses, I think back to my college classes in photography and remember weeks would go by and I would feel like I learned nothing new. Of course thats not true, sometimes just listening opens up new thoughts...keep it up Mike, as Frasier said, "I'm listening"
I am not new to photography but am new to real estate photography and I really enjoyed taking Mike's class. This class is not for everyone but at this price you can't beat to soak in knowledge from a successful architecture and fine art photographer. Great job Mike, thank you!
Can't believe some of the negative reviews. There are three things he said alone that make this class worth every penny. I won't tell you what they are...have to watch it and judge for yourself. I am new to the real estate angle, but have a long time career in photography. This class is an eye-opener for me. I'm excited to start thinking about real estate & architecture photography as an art form the way Mike does. TIP: Watch every minute too - esp the Q&A where some of my "a-ha" moments happened.
Excellent class. Mike’s teaching style is easy to understand and he’s very generous with his knowledge. The business section was super helpful. I have all his classes, he packs many tips into a short class.
Great tips, love his down-to-earth teaching style.
Enjoyed this class. Took it to learn more about architectural photography because I know little to nothing about that area of photography. I feel Mike gave a solid introduction in the how-to's of getting into this business, offered some good outside sources, gave good supporting personal stories. Would have liked to lean more about balancing light color and to be referred to some outside sources on learning more about that. Overall, I feel this was a solid intro to architectural photography.
I bought this class to get a better understanding of Mike’s photoshop techniques. Unfortunately Mike explains his techniques geared more towards those already an expert in Photoshop.
Good basics for someone who is considering this architectural genre. You will need more detail to pursue the field, but this will get you started. Worth the price I paid.
Mike does an excellent job of conveying his style and passion for architectural photography. The presentation was well thought out and gives you a strong platform to build off of. Looking forward to his other courses.
Like both Real Estate Courses by Mike and Marc & Tiffany.
It's a course by Mike Kelley, and so of course, it's awesome!
I thought this course was worth the purchase definitely. Its short but packed full of useful info. This isn't a "how to get over your fears" touchy feely type course; it gets right to the point of how to get into the business, best business practices and how to post process a photo. He has some other courses that go deeper into the post processing bit which are also useful. If you were serious about giving architectural photography a go you could dive in with the information he gives you here. He talks about pricing but wished he talked more on that and gave examples and even a screenshot of a proposal with line items. I guess I can look that sort of thing up on line. I enjoyed this class and am going to go practice what I learned here.
Extremely helpful! For an amateur the first part was very helpful. The second video was more than I could have hoped for! An in-depth walk thru of an image. Very well done.
