This course is excellent for an advanced retoucher! Really glad to see a class that is working at a fast pace and high level.
Very good results, I love it.
Absolutely love this class! I've owned it for a couple of years now and find myself coming back to it time and time again. Lisa is really easy to listen to with her clear and confident direction. I Own a few of her other classes too and truly enjoy watching her teach. Thank you for the amazing content!
I am seeing many reviews on how this course can be scattered and super fast. This is true. HOWEVER, this is the BEST hair retouching class I have taken. You must be willing to move around and piece together some of the tips. If you are willing to study and take notes, this class will up your game on hair editing! You need a fairly sturdy knowledge of Photoshop as well. I like Lisa's courses. I will be taking more.
I work as a retoucher, and am looking to up my game. As such, I find most classes too slow and boring–and very well might know better ways (for me) at arriving at solutions. However, this was a great class for picking up some tips at the professional level. If I were at the beginning level, I might have a hard time keeping up. The only thing I wish she had covered was how to cover up dark roots–which used to be a frequent request. Right now I do the patch /transform/liquify–but am wondering if there's a different way.
Lisa is super knowledgeable about her craft, but she cannot teach. I would love to see this class s-l-o-w-e-d down and allow her more time to show and explain her examples. I'm going frame by frame to make notes. It's like trying to follow a conversation in a language you are just learning, so essential facts are missed. BTW I have all her courses because she such an expert.
For a studio photographer or professional retoucher, that works on photos a that are mostly shot on a white or neutral gray background, this class has more value. Masking hair from a neutral background is one thing - as taught in this class - but masking hair from a more complex background (Leaves, clouds, background with similar colors as hair) doesn't seem to be covered.
Let's not worry about the speed; you can replay and replay until you get it. In fact her pace means that you get a lot crammed in here; some you'll use, some you won't.... yet. I've found Lisa's sessions are great for returning to again and again until I perfect the techniques or feel ready to try another. Yes she's a little rough and ready, but she knows what she's doing!
I read a few bad reviews of this course, but I really enjoyed it. I liked Lisa and I did not think she went too fast. It is not a follow along and do it at the same time class but an overview of what is possible and includes some really great tips. I would definitely recommend it.
Excellent material, exactly what I was looking for. Lisa is going a bit fast, but that is why I have the rewind button. I think Lisa is very methodical and she knows how to pack a ton of tips and tricks in a short period of time. This is stuff to really study and practice with.
Lisa, You gave me a lot to think about. I have always Hated retouching hair. You have given me many new toles to work with. Tomorrow, I will have many cups of coffee, and then watch the tutorial again, and again. Thank you. - Ned
Great class if you are already knowledgable with Photoshop. If you are a beginner in Photoshop you would probably get frustrated at how fast pace this class is. I learned a lot! Thank you!
This class is really fast paced, but very informative. While not everyone appreciates it, I find Lisa's care-free teaching style refreshing and engaging. I have and will recommend this class to colleagues and enthusiasts that request direction. Great Job, Lisa
It is un-freakin' believable how helpful this class is. I actually gasped out loud as a couple of techniques were being shown. Thank you!
I love Lisa's way of teaching - I do a lot of Hair competition work and this gave me tips to handle situations I was troubleshooting in a way harder way. I agree with some that it was SO MUCH information in a small amount of time. Not Lisa's fault. She needed a whole 8 hour segment to slowly go through the steps. Unless you are an advanced retoucher - this will not make sense. I would LOVE to see her back for a slowed down - longer instruction. Thanks Lisa!! xx Donna
Lisa is a great instructor. Fun and enjoy watching how she teaches! This is an intermediate and advanced class for sure. Lisa obviously was putting a lot of information into the class and teach us as much as possible. She is one of the BEST instructor I've ever seen! Fast, well organized and completely to the point!
Aimed at experienced PSD users, I've learned some new very good techniques that builds on what I know, and plenty of stuff I didn't. I liked the rapid fire and conciseness, with everything explained in more detail in the accompanying PDF. Worth every penny!
VERY advanced. I thought I knew photoshop. This was way over my head. It's a good class if you are already advanced.
Lisa was obviously trying to cram a lot of advanced information into a short class here, but she was fun to watch and I thought she did an excellent job. The extra time she put into the bonus materials more than makes up for how rushed the video was. The PDF workbook is 23 pages long with screenshots, step by step instructions and loaded with tips. Then there are over 50 quality hair brushes in the brush sets. I'd love to see her come back to CreativeLive some day for a longer class covering more topics.
Masking hair is one of the most difficult things to do well, and Lisa provides intermediate and advanced users several methods for handling it. She's fast and often assumes PS knowledge, but this is an advanced course. I learned a number of tricks that will be helpful in the future. A+
She is all over the place... needs to slow down.
If you love Photoshop and are serious about retouching, this is one of the best classes from one of the BEST instructors I've ever seen. It is fast pasted, but well organized and completely to the point. I don't know about you, but I prefer an engaging instructor that is passionate about her field and wants to give you as much information in her course as possible. The bonus materials alone are worth their weight in gold and should help anyone having trouble following along with her advanced techniques. I hope CreativeLive brings her back soon!
This is an advanced class, therefore the educator expects students to already know concepts and techniques. That being said, I love this class. Very informative and I'm happy to add what I learned to my toolbox.
Would have liked warning that this was so advanced. Waaay too fast for me. Like the addition of the workbook so I can do it slower and try to get it. I would prefer less rushed version.
Definitely not for beginners! Contains a ton of useful tips and tricks served in a nononsense way. Lisa does not waste time describing basic stuff so professionals should be delighted!
