A superb course and one which I already see myself referring back to regularly as I work towards elevating my craft. Thank you!

Excellent class for beginners of Macro Flower Photography. I especially enjoyed how in depth the video was working directly with the two students. Flashing back and forth to the actual photos taken to see the individual changes. I was so inspired I went out and recreated the make shift photo studio/lab the students were using at the end.

What a fabulous course. I have all three of Frans Lanting's classes on creative live and they are the best. I have purchased dozens of classes by other photographers and honestly, these are the ones that never grow old and I always come back to. So grateful he took us into his studio at the end. Fascinating to see how the pros set up their studios. His soft spoken manner makes me eager to hear more. He is simply the best.

Mr. Frans Lanting demonstrated a lot of class during all the sessions. He was an absolute professional and gentleman, what an honor. I learned a lot, and I rediscovered details that either I knew and had forgotten, or that I didn't even realize I knew. I will go back to revisit some specific sessions. Thank you Mr. Lanting.

What made this course so helpful and interesting to me were the videos of being out on shoots, the detailed discussion of various photos, information about camera settings, the various ways of using birds in compositions, and the critiques of submitted photos. Frans' passion for birds really comes out, and it is clear that his extensive research and experience makes him an excellent instructor. I truly enjoyed this class and feel I learned so much.

I just finished this class. I've taken other photography courses offered on Creative Llve and they have all been good, however, this class was amazing. Frans gives great instruction on camera settings and techniques, along with composing images. I enjoyed his beautiful images and his presentation on the Life Journey. Thanks to lockdown, I have come across this video among others by Frans and finally got to meet Frans on video. I knew Frans from his NG photography on orang utan and rafflesia in Borneo. I am now hoping to try out his techniques to use reflector/diffusor on rafflesia flowers among others and telephoto lens to isolate flowers and orchids, use other accessories like clamp, outdoor loupe, lensbaby, softbox and more. I learned so much and highly recommend this most practical lessons both in the field and classroom.

Great class! I learned a lot about bird photography and it is obvious how much the instructor cares about the animals and the Earth. Very inspiring.

This class was exceptional! Frans was an excellent teacher and covered even more than I expected! I think I learned everything I needed to learn to get started. I also l found his critique during and the class and at the end super helpful. I would definitely recommend this class!

A most excellent class! Frans is an excellent instructor and presents information in a way that makes you want to keep listening through the last word. In the past few months I have spent a lot of time in parks photographing birds and, while mostly satisfied with my images, I have had too many that just missed being "good enough". On my first trip out after the class, I could see the difference in the quality of my images. I'm anxious to get out even more. Thanks so much!

I really enjoyed this class and would recommend it to anyone wishing to learn the art of bird photography. Frans Lanting is articulate and thorough in his presentation of this class and his knowledge of bird behavior and bird photography is evident.

I feel quite bored watching this class. I It was too simplistic and the teacher spent way to much time on each image. I didn't learn anything new.

This course is such a fabulous blend of watching Frans think out loud in the field about settings, and then talk through his ideas about compositional ideas for birds in flight, bird portraits, flocks of birds and more. Don't miss this as all his ideas can be applied to every other field of photography, but also there is the added benefit of this remarkable man's knowledge of birds and how to photograph them. I can't recommend it more highly!

It is great to see him working and telling how is his journey as a human been has been. If you are a professional maybe is a little slow the progress of the course but it is completely valuable.

Awesome to watch a legendary photographer that cares about his photo as an expression of a human being.

This is an excellent course. Frans Lanting is an excellent instructor. His voice and approach are very supportive and calming. I highly recommend this class to anyone interested in macro photography. Personally, I learned a lot.

In this course, Frans talks about a lot more than taking pictures! He talks about telling a story, making a photograph (not the same as taking a picture), understanding life, making art, what it's like to work in photography, ... This man is incredible, his body of work is insane, his humanity knows no limit. A real INSPIRATION!

I've admired Mr Lanting's work for decades but thanks to having CL's Creator Pass, I was able to enjoy The Art of Photographing Birds even though bird photography is not my primary focus. Mr Lanting is absolutely engaging, articulate and delightful to listen to. What a teacher!

I am a new bird photographer and found this course so informative! From bird portraits, to behavior, to shooting at different times of day, his explanations were clear and easy to understand. I especially loved the fact that he took us along on "field trips" and shared settings and gear, and demonstrated it all by showing examples of his photography.
