I disagree with some of the other comments here. This class was fun to watch and inspiring for a beginner like myself. Cleo seemed like a friendly tutor. I learnt many different tips and tricks throughout her class. :)

This class is exactly the healthy comfort food I needed. I am a graphic designer who has always felt intimidated by illustrating but have always wanted to go for it. This is the perfect encouragement.

It's always interesting to see each artist's thinking process and creation process and I really enjoyed this class because she explained very throughly her tools and steps to create her illustrations while sharing some tips. Overall a really fun experience.

Thank you for the amazing course. Right now I'm in Sydney in our biggest lockdown because of covid 19. Its been a hard month. After doing this course I'm now happy up to have all this free time to create. Thanks for helping me turn the lights on.

What a delightful and helpful instructor and class! Kate's insights, tips, and demo....not to mention her personal narrative....was fun and just the 'right size' to get started on a drawing journey.

The instructor was nervous in the beginning of the class, but then relaxed as the lessons progressed. This class is a great overview for beginners on different color techniques. The most frustrating part was the camera work. Too many times the camera was focused on the teacher and not on what she was demonstrating. And the camera stayed on her for long periods of time. One time she said, "If you look closely...you can see what I'm saying..." And the camera STILL stayed on her. It's as if the camera person zoned out and wasn't really paying attention.

I agree with the reviewer who noted that Cleo does start off a bit awkwardly. Having never done a live demo myself, I can't imagine how nerve-racking it is. But her natural talent shines through, and in the end, she wins us over with her unmistakable passion for sharing her art (tips, tricks n' all) with the world.

Inspirational! All in all, the class was pretty simple: take some time every day to draw...anything. But sometimes you need someone to tell you that. Kate's very down to earth manner makes you feel like you can do what she has done. And you can! I just finished the course and feel very excited to draw. I'm already thinking of all the things I want to draw. I do think, format-wise, we shouldn't have spent so much time in the middle of the class talking about materials. I think it's probably best for people to get started with what they have and then, if it becomes a habit, invest in some good materials. At least that's how I'm approaching it. But I you can always skip that part, I suppose!

Kate, your style, your videos are so refreshing. They aren't "you should do this" only suggestions on what works for you. Mistakes are welcome. Dive straight into ink. As a fellow graphic design who hated drawing (except chickent scratching design ideas in my journal), this has helped me find a style I look forward to drawing everyday. Thank you for a quick, easily digestible series of videos.

The class was good, like a 101 & lots of motivation to really get out there & start drawing. But I wish there was more on the actual drawing. My advice is catch the class online for free & then decide if you wanna buy.

Love Kate's energy. Hearing her story gave me (I can't draw. Seriously. ) the motivation to challenge myself to draw too! (Btw, I just purchased some faber castell pens and a moleskin after watching this : ) )

Loved the quick and fun demonstration. personally, i loved it with less color, but, that's just me. the color looks nice too! the class is not concentrated on techniques though.

I love this class!!! Cleo is such a natural, enthusiastic and funny teacher. She shares her ideas very freely and makes learning so much fun. She likes to explore her materials by experimenting and also making charts. In art school I always thought this was a little boring, but Cleo makes it fun. It is a good way to warm up and prepare to draw and then begin paint. I have learned to enjoy this process so much by taking this class. I would recommend this class to both beginners and experienced artists.

This was fantastic and exactly what I needed. I really enjoyed spending time in Kate's studio and learning from her and seeing how she works. This is really inspirational for a drawing newbie! Thanks Kate and Creative Live!
