This course is excellent for an advanced retoucher! Really glad to see a class that is working at a fast pace and high level.
-
Glad I bought this as it is the "one stop shop" for Ps FS IMHO! I'll need to watch it several more times for sure, but I never understood the depth of utility inherent in Ps FS until now. Thank you very much Lisa and Creative Live.

Very good results, I love it.

Another awesome class from Lisa Carney! Great explanation of frequency separation and as always funny and entertaining.
-
Great class! Lisa Carney is an entertaining presenter who knows what she's talking about. I learned a lot and enjoyed it.
-
Made me realize things I have not thought of and gave me structure! I love her candid style and honesty as well. She is amazing!

This is the first thing I've seen on retouching, and I have had to come back several times but it's nice to have a whole definitive process in one place. Lot of info and skills in here to hone.
-
I had never done any retouching before so it was so great to get a definitive process on how to do it. Whole bunch of new tricks in the ol' toolkit now :-D
-
Lisa really dropped some gems here. Information hundreds of YouTube videos won’t teach you. We love you Lisa… was an absolute pleasure🍾

This technic is awesome. I do not do portrait, but I use it to clean pave roads and trucks. It save me a lot of time and I can be so much more creative. Lisa is wonderful and I love her teaching. Congratulations Lisa, good job!

Great Course. Enjoyed everything. learned a bunch =) Thank you

If you were like me and had no idea on where to start and feared that the editing process would be too destructive and would have to start all over again if the client didn't like your completed work - then this is the class for you. I watch this class often for review and to make sure that I maintain these good habits Lisa suggests to do. If you follow all of her helpful commentary on her how's and why's you will end up in a far better place when that time comes that you have to re-edit your edit. I cannot say enough great things about her work flow and how it not only enhanced my images to the result I was looking for but also decreased my editing time(bonus!!!!). I also on a whim sent her a email through her personal site and she replied with a massive helpful technique for enhancing freckles on a job I was working on. She is amazing! She is a true teacher who is there to show you how to use photoshop for you to find and gain your own editing style. Far too often i find myself in retouching classes that only demonstrate how to make your images look like who is teaching the class... Workflow and Style are very different, you can have the same workflow but your style is determined by your taste. Her workflow is solid and delivers time and time again. This class should be in everyone's dashboard hands down.

Lisa's energy, industry experience, and depth of knowledge of Photoshop are very impressive. I enjoyed how she taught multiple ways to approach retouching issues. As someone who has worked with Photoshop for several years, I learned quite a bit. This was definitely worth the price.

Absolutely love this class! I've owned it for a couple of years now and find myself coming back to it time and time again. Lisa is really easy to listen to with her clear and confident direction. I Own a few of her other classes too and truly enjoy watching her teach. Thank you for the amazing content!

Another awesome course by Lisa Carney, packed full of information This course is really a comprehensive look at colors ... I learned so much, and even stuff I thought I knew pretty well, I found some pretty eye opening new information. I find Lisa Carney to be a wonderful teacher. When she has an important point to make she'll say her point, pause and then repeat what she just said, just to lock it into your memory. Fantastic. Side note: I signed up for the CreativeLive creative pass as soon as I realized how great all of Lisa Carney's classes are. I'd started to buy them one by one and quickly realized they are all wonderful. You can watch this class from beginning to end and get great information ... but to get the most bang for the buck you'll want to pause, hit rewind, get a cup of coffee, open Photoshop and try out her tips while you watch. There are sections I rewound and watched about 5 times, to be sure I understood all the subtle points. Lisa Carney is pretty amazing - she works really hard to thoroughly explain the process she uses to solve problems, and she never glosses over anything important. To cover a particular point, she'll start with a finished file with all the layers - and instead of simply explaining each layer like a mortal would do, she'll literally delete all the adjustment layers and start from scratch to show the process. This is incredibly empowering since it gives you an understanding of just how easy the process can be once you get the hang of it

Absolutely love this lady's style. She teaches the timeless mechanics of ever-evolving Photoshop for future reference, not a step-by-step series of instructions that probably won't work on your particular image. Hugely appreciate her emphasis on real-life workflow and time management issues. It's invaluable reference for a production environment. And don't get me started on her wisdom about billing!

I am seeing many reviews on how this course can be scattered and super fast. This is true. HOWEVER, this is the BEST hair retouching class I have taken. You must be willing to move around and piece together some of the tips. If you are willing to study and take notes, this class will up your game on hair editing! You need a fairly sturdy knowledge of Photoshop as well. I like Lisa's courses. I will be taking more.

Lisa's classes are AMAZING! So much information - I have to make sure I spend enough time on each section! Fantastic - well worth the time and $$'s.

Finally someone that I can follow and not fall asleep to....Lisa's presentation style is great and very energetic and at a pace that you don't get bored with...
-
Ratta-Tat-Tat WONDERFUL. 8 gazillion great things with off beat Marx Bros Humor Not for beginners, I'd say

Not for the faint of heart.....and yes there will be homework. I was bit reluctant to take this course with some of the negative reviews, but I took a shot and have to say it is one of my favorite CL classes so far. This was an opportunity to spend time with a seasoned veteran who shared the way she approaches and thinks about retouching. This is WAY more important that going over every detail. There were some things I was not all that familiar with....adjustment layers, luminosity masks, and more...and I think it made sense to not go over these in great detail in the class, and had you go learn this on your own. Instead the focus was her professional perspective on retouching and understanding that there were many ways to achieve the same result, and you would have to develop your own style and choices. But getting an overview, and an ordered way to proceed from a seasoned pro was incredibly valuable. So this worked for me, and highly recommend for those comfortable with having to stop and do a little "on your own" research, and then come back and proceed. If you expect every detail explained within the class then maybe this is not the one for you. My skills and approach to retouching are simply on another level because of this class and I've already signed up for another one of her courses. Thanks Lisa......

Very expertly taught... this a fairly concise guide on how to use FS in your work. No recipe for 16bit though... google it.

Lisa did a great job, most of what she taught are things I've picked up from other places (many other places) so it was nice to see it all presented in one setting. She taught me a few new tips and methods I put in my toolbox. I've mostly been self taught at Photoshop through the years so I'm always adjusting and growing in the way I edit. This was kind of a confirmation that's I've been on the right track. Lisa's teaching style is a little haphazard but I was able to follow it pretty well... I wouldn't have finished the course if it were live however.
-
I would recommend this class for people who have at least some photoshop/editing experience. As someone who's been photographing and retouching for years I found this class to be very useful. I like the pace and structure. I'm the kind of person who has to apply what I've learned in order to solidify it so I would watch a few segments then jump into photoshop to apply them. Lisa does tend to talk fast and will breeze through the demonstrations, so if don't already have some experience and understanding of what she's doing it can be difficult to follow. But if you're looking to streamline your workflow and get more of a handle on photoshop I'd definitely recommend this course.

I used to do most of my editing in Light Room and recently began pulling files into Photoshop to get a little deeper. I saw a few simple YouTube videos on Frequency Separation, and while they work, there's only so much you can do with it. I was amazed with Lisa's course at just how much you can add to a simple Frequency Separation, such as the color, the dust and scratch, the extra blur layers, the eye sharpening, adding volume to the skin, and so much more. She moves fast, but if you've got a decent knowledge of Photoshop you can keep up. If you've purchased the program, it's easy enough to pause ... do the work ... then continue. All in all I'd say it was a great class, I got a lot out of it, and I WILL be using it on a regular basis.
