Getting Unstuck as a Photographer - Finding Inspiration in Your Backyard with Philip Ebiner

If you’ve ever felt stuck as a photographer, I want to start by saying this: it’s not because you’ve lost your creativity, and it’s definitely not because you’re not good enough. In my experience, feeling stuck usually comes from overwhelm… too many options, too much pressure, and not enough clarity about what to shoot when everything around you feels familiar.

In this training, I’ll share what’s actually helped me get unstuck over the years, especially during seasons when photography started to feel heavy instead of fun. We’ll talk about why common advice like “just bring your camera everywhere” or “follow your favorite photographers” doesn’t work for most people, and how simplifying your process can make a huge difference. Things like shooting JPEG, using in-camera film recipes, and removing unnecessary steps can lower the barrier to picking up your camera again.

We’ll also dive into practical ways to find inspiration close to home… trying new styles that actually fit your life, using prompts and challenges to give yourself direction, making photography playful again, and exploring nearby places you may be overlooking. My goal is for you to leave this session with a clear, realistic plan you can actually stick with, not a long list of things you “should” be doing.

This class includes a dedicated 30 minutes of Q&A directly with Philip Ebiner.
