  • Thank you I am very good at photography, but this class has helped me with shooting with manual mode.

  • Terrific course. I've had the Sony a6000 for 3 years now, but never really knew about all the settings and what should be "default." I learned so much.

  • It is so intimidating to pick up a new camera. I have never been good an instruction manuals - I get lost. John has done so much research to master this and other camera formats and systematically teach basic function in a very digestible way. This was invaluable for me. Thanks!

  • This is an excellent course; it truly answered several questions I had about the more arcane aspects of my Sony 7R3M camera's menu system. Thank you John Greengo!!

  • This is an amazing class thank you very much....

  • Love your camera courses please put one out for the Sony 6400, Thanks !

  • I really enjoyed this class! John is a great teacher and he covers every single detail of the camera. I also purchased the class about the fundamentals of photography and I am very satisfied with this purchase.

  • not quite 100%. Last lesson cuts off before he is done. I would also love if his materials to print off included a set of cards for the material in the last lesson. Otherwise excellent course. thank you!

  • John Greengo is an excellent presenter. He's clear, concise and there's never any useless filler in his classes. A+

  • Good class, clear, concise and well paced. It would have taken me much, much longer to learn this much about the camera without this class. Good stuff!

  • As usual John's classes are fantastic. Really worthwhile if youve bought this camera. As he says the cameras instructions are quite poor so this really helps accelerate you.

  • My first stop when considering a new camera or an upgrade is to watch a John Greengo Fast Start tutorial.

  • Great Instructor! I’m switching from Canon to Sony, and often found myself frustrated with the quick access to settings and lack of info in the manual. This class simplified everything for me, so I’m confident to use the camera.

  • I'm new to photography and reading the manual front to back had me lost. This course was great and was hands-on. I feel like I can access many things in my camera now.

  • I was expecting this tutorial to focus only on Sony A7 ii. but had other models which I was not interested in.

  • The class was informative, but it has NOT been updated to the latest firmware release (5.0). The menu system has changed the new FW release, so don't expect this class to track with your current menu layout. With that said, the information on the individual menu items was valuable. It is clear the instructor doesn't understand the networking elements of the A9, or networking in general. Most of this menu system was glossed over. I found his explanation of individual menu items related to camera operations very helpful. I would recommend this class, but it would be much better if it were updated to reflect the latest FW release.

  • lesson 2 , time 4;45 - holding the camera with thumb on top is awkward and twists my arm. Thumb on the bottom feels better and my arm is closer to torso. So not sure why you say thumb should be on top.

  • As a new user of a mirrorless camera, I found John's class extremely informative and easy to follow. It contained so much information that I'm sure I'll be coming back to it after a couple of months to refresh my memory and try using new features. I also thought the handouts were quite useful and was glad to get the copies of the slides used in the course. Why search all over the internet for dribs and drabs when you can find so much detailed information in one compact course? Highly recommended!

  • Awesome! I am so bad when it comes to diving into looong small-print manuals... This was the perfect thorough overview. The demonstrations are particularly helpful.

  • John Greengo is just a great teacher. This course contains so much valuable information. It would have taken me forever to figure it out on my own. Well worth the money.

  • John Greengo was very thorough in his presentation of the complex information on the Sony a6500. I'm a lot more confident with the camera and the setting now. Thanks John!

  • Excellent tutorial delivered clearly and expertly by John. Since Sony's manual is lacking, I can't imagine trying to use this camera without John's class. Straightforward information with great reference material makes learning the Sony interface almost easy! Highly recommend this class!

  • I recently switched over from a full frame Nikon camera because of camera weight. I love my A6300, but really didn’t know all its capabilities until I took this course. John is extremely knowledgeable and the course is well presented and I learned a lot. My husband probably got tired of me coming in and showing him what new thing I had just learned. Highly recommend this class, even if you’re an experienced photographer.

  • John distills an unreadable manual into what it could have been. He is always a great source for specific camera and lens information. In this case, I am considering a transition into a mirrorless system and needed background that goes beyond the usual camera reviews you find online. Once again, CreativeLive and John Greengo answered all my questions.

  • I'm writing this review long after the class was recorded. I own a Sony Nex-7 (significant camera setup overlap with Nex-6) since 2013 and even now found the lessons useful. Most importantly, it reminded me of the DMF function, that I've never really put in practice, which will most probably change. I love that camera! Thank you John and CreativeLive team :)
