Sony A7 Mark II Series Fast Start with John Greengo

Great Instructor! I’m switching from Canon to Sony, and often found myself frustrated with the quick access to settings and lack of info in the manual. This class simplified everything for me, so I’m confident to use the camera.

I was expecting this tutorial to focus only on Sony A7 ii. but had other models which I was not interested in.

Excellent tutorial delivered clearly and expertly by John. Since Sony's manual is lacking, I can't imagine trying to use this camera without John's class. Straightforward information with great reference material makes learning the Sony interface almost easy! Highly recommend this class!

I stored my Sony A7II for more than a year since I've been Canon's user for 7 years and I felt unsure of taking this new camera which implied a different menu system, different functions, a little bit intimidating. Finally, I took a bit of valor, put my camera next to the computer monitor for then start watching this guide and I spent a great time actually. I'm amazed at how helpful and clear is the sequence of the chapters. It was enough to get to chapter ten to know all the basic controls and start taking pictures with an equivalent confidence of my good old Canon, or even better since in the chapter 8th I learned how accurate and easy to use is the focusing system, either, manual or auto (For stills I've always used manual focusing). Very informative, enjoyable and now I became a new fan of the mirrorless cameras, at the point that I'm considering to buy another two :D

Taking this class should be the second step after opening the camera box. John walks through every piece and menu of the camera. He showed real-life examples which helped make things stick. I highly recommend it.

This class is fantastic - packed with so much information, great visuals, and reference material - it's the best tutorial out there by a long shot! John is a very effective, clear and knowledgeable teacher.

Was so grateful to find this class introducing the operation of my first mirrorless camera. The Sony a7 series is quite different from my Canon DSLRs and I am confident that John gave me a good head start. Without this comprehensive intro it would have been VERY frustrating and I would not be making full use of the camera's many abilities! Thanks for a great course at a fair price.

Great class. I watched it last spring when I first got my Sony and then watched much of it again this week. There was just too much information to absorb before I really got to know my camera. I really appreciate the time that John takes to put together the great visuals. He's a very good teacher. I've watched several of his classes on CL and have even sat in on a class. John is an excellent teacher! In fact his Fundamentals of Digital Photography 2014 was the first ever class I watched on CreativeLive, and since then I'm in love with his teaching style as well as with CreativeLive! I bought my Sony A7II in March 2015 and when I found out that John is giving a class on it I was very excited! As I expected I learnt many secrets about my camera which I had been using for 9 months already. For example about the option of focusing on the eyes, setting the buttons, making panoramas etc. The camera is still smarter than me I must admit. I am enjoying my Sony even more now since after the class I feel much more confident. Thank you John and CreativeLive for such an opportunity! I would recommend to everyone who has a Sony a7II camera and the other cameras in this line to watch this class. It's a concentrate of useful information, very detailed and to the point. I spent two days just watching the class and practicing new knowledge with my camera straight away. I had to postpone all the other life chores. And I would be ready to watch the class again after some time as it's a professional camera which needs a lot of practice!

INCREDIBLE Class! I couldn't find anything on the internet that truly explained this camera, explained what it can and can't do and what accessories would work with it. I have had my Sony A7II for awhile now, but was so overwhelmed by it, I rarely even took it out of its case. It was just easier to use my Canon 5D III. After this class, I am so excited to finally practice with and use my Sony. John is an incredible teacher. He is thorough, professional, fun and knowledgeable! Where to start... John is a fantastic instructor, everyone knows that by now. He is thorough, extremely well prepared, and his presentation style is superb. But that is half the story. You have to be interested in the content. If you have a Sony A7x II, or are planning to buy one soon, or maybe considering getting one in the future - then you must watch this course. It is the most detailed review of its capabilities without casting opinions about how it compares to other cameras or mirrorless vs. everything else, etc. This camera's menu system is not simple, and this course provides a precise map. The hand out materials are extremely well put together and the presentation itself covers lots of ground. This is a dense course that imparts a lot of learning in a short amount of time. In a word - efficient. Get it. Watch it. Use it.

John is one of the best presenter's Creative Live has ever had and I have watch many. His presentation materials are the best I have ever seen and is very detail. Hope to see many more subjects covered from him.

Fantastic information. I have the Sony a6000. A friend noticed this class was available for free today, so I have watched (gulp) the entire thing in two sittings. Even though the cameras Mr. Greengo uses are more expensive/fancier than mine, I learned a ton about the Sony set-up that I can use on my a6000. I will preview his Fundamentals of Photography, but I am 90 percent certain I'll be signing up for that within a couple of days. Thank you.

John's delivery & subject content was fantastic!

John has an amazing ability to teach anything in photography. I have seen other classes he teaches. He speaks at just the right speed and gives such details of everything he teaches. His illustrations are top notch and so easy to understand. I would say he is one of the best teachers I have ever heard. He also covers everything that needs to be covered about a topic.
