It’s that pumpkin spice time of year. Pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin spice pie, and pumpkin spice photography? Okay, so maybe not the last one (CreativeLive does not endorse sprinkling pumpkin spice into your camera sensors, no matter how much you like the smell), but tis the season for bright and vibrant fall colors.
So how to start this autumn extravaganza? Here are five different types of fall photos found on instagram by some amazing artists to give your inspiration a jumpstart.
From @jonathangipaya we have a beautiful bride popping out of the image with strong contrast in front of Washington’s evergreen trees. The colors of the fall offer us the ability to involve the environment in unique ways.

“Tis the season… for another Fall picture.” – @missholldoll. Get up high if possible and explore to find your photo. During this time of year, the remote outdoors can give a change of perspective (Also they can give you a chill so bring a coat. For real though, it gets chilly).
It’s not all about the wilderness though, exploring the city streets can offer a special insight to what this time of year has to offer. Here, @kylekesterson walks the streets of New York finding a beautiful sunset.
Of course the staple of any good fall photo (especially on instagram) is to include a deliciously inviting latte. @dmotif shows us how easy it is to stop and style the classic shot with some extra color of leaves placed on the side to give the perfect context.

No fall photoshoot is complete without tossing leaves into the air with reckless abandon. I asked @alex.a.s. what made this image special to her, “I love the colors, the spontaneity of how was it taken, her facial expression, and all the falling leaves… I feel like it captures the season really well.” (Let’s not forget that rad hat to boot)
We only get so much time before the rain and snow hits us so don’t waste anymore time!
