Getting ready for Photoshop Week 2017 is solidly on the mind and to get ready we decided to test our skills.
Stock photography is many things, but it is not subtle. We’ve all seen the images of identically powersuited corporate professionals shaking hands over that totally lucrative deal they just signed. The perfect family sharing a laugh over a pile of raked autumn leaves. The young women ecstatically eating salad. My, but they do love salad.
We at CreativeLive say, enough! We’re calling on our talented community of Photoshop wizards to add some context and excitement to the surreal world of stock photography. Tell us a story. Why is that girl so delighted? Or is that fear? What’s going on? And what could possibly be so contemplative about the experience of staring at a hole in the wall? What’s going on in their minds? Where could they be?
Bust out your lasso tool and flex your masking skills, and rescue these poor people from their cliches. Show off your technical skills, but we’ll be most impressed by the original, clever story that your editing creates. Don’t be afraid to embrace your inner absurdist.
