DIY Photography and Lighting

Havent used my studio gear for a little while, and last time i did, i just shot too flat with no shadows, this was a really great refresher, love the attitude and the language used, worth it! a must if you are new to studio lighting, including sppedlights, got some good info for when i use a speedlight outdoors in sunlight. thankyou.

I enjoy DIYing even more than the photography, so I might be biased. But this class is extraordinary.

It's a fun course, with a lot of interesting ideas presented in a way to help spark the creative juices in anyone wanting to branch out and experiment with different ideas. Mike's presentation style is fun and easygoing - perfect for this type of discussion. If you're not afraid to color outside the lines and see where the road takes you, this is a very enjoyable bit of inspiration.

This is so relevant and inspiring. It makes me want to go and build a light table and start shooting straightaway.

For a shorter-form class, this gets right to the point with practical information; and Andrew indulges the audience questions enough for us to see some creative experimentation with the final product.

Going into my 4th year of photography, I finally built a photo studio in my home and after purchasing some lighting gear and other accessories, I decided to buy this course for additional ideas - GREAT class! I learned a LOT and was very inspired to be more creative. I especially liked that Kevin didn't joke too much or stray away from the course very much at all. Yet, he was still very entertaining and very informative. I'm putting so much of what I got form this class into action right away! This course DEFINITELY pays for itself - right away!

This is a great course, however, tonight 13 Jan 19, is not ‘live’, it is a repeat from last year!

Super good course highly recommended it will help you get started on a low budget, yet creating wonderful images. Is there a link to west got?

Great class for exploring approaches to light. I am disappointed that the gear lists referenced numerous times throughout the video are absent from a downloads section within Creative Live for this class. References to the lists and specific equipment being available on the instructor's website returns dead URLs and files that can't be located. As part of our purchase for this class, those materials should be readily available, but aren't.

I enjoyed the class very much. Kevin Kubota shows how amazing images can be achieved with some practical DIY lighting. Makes me want to get out there and try these options. He makes better images attainable through a little innovation and practical problem-solving.

I've been lucky enough to see Tony present in person and enjoy his CL courses. Love his courses!

Great Class! I learned a lot about lighting and enjoyed Kevin's humor and style. Kevin kept mentioning a PDF available for downloading but I couldn't find it anywhere.

Informative and entertaining. Gave me a lot of ideas for DIY gear and modifying my existing stuff. Learned a bit about lighting in general, too. Would definitely recommend.

Each class of Tony Corbell is great. I learned a lot from him. He really knows his job and he is a great instructor.

Love it!! Very creative and full of inspiration. Mike Hagen explains the different effects in a great way, he is precise yet easy-going so he makes learning fun. I recommend this class to all who wants to take their creative photography to the next level without spending money on expensive accessories.

I am so glad that I stumbled upon this website. It has me excited to keep going further in my photography abilities. I can't wait to be able to watch more classes. Thank you so much for this, I am going to stay up all night checking out how to do this way of shooting different ways. DYI I love this lesson.

Fun class full of neat ideas. A lot of this DIY stuff is available on the internet, but having a curated set with variety and being able to see the process was helpful. I'll definitely use some of these in my own photography. My favorite thing about the class wasn't just what Mike taught, but how it got me to thinking more about the technology behind the ideas and different ways I can use my camera. I appreciated the instructor's enthusiasm and clear explanations.

This class is genius!!! Mike Hagen does an incredible job making DIY photography so easy. I loved seeing how he put each piece together at home with stuff that you either already have laying around the house. It's so easy to get lost in the world of photo gear so this class was GOLD! Can't wait to try out what we learned!

Mike has an easy-going, pleasant & fun personality. He explains things clearly. Rolls with whatever happens. And, he's very good about answering audience questions in an understandable, positively reinforcing and non-judgemental way (which can be rare for some established pro photographers...).
