  • Great class

  • This songwriting course does a great job of breaking down the process in a way that feels both practical and inspiring. The instructor explains melody, lyrics, and chord progressions clearly, using real-world examples that make it easy to follow along. It’s perfect for beginners but still offers useful insights for more experienced songwriters. Some parts could go a bit deeper, especially on advanced techniques, and a few more hands-on exercises would make it even better. Overall, though, it’s a solid, well-paced course that gives you real tools to improve your songwriting.

  • Caught this course on free stream day, and was totally impressed! DJ Hapa is so good at explaining things, in an easy and clear way! Great attitude and energy too! Really like his teaching style! I learned so much from catching what I did of this that day, and I'm not even a DJ! Lots of respect now for the Art of DJ'ing! Wow. Thank you! Look fwd to following you and maybe even dabbling into some of this myself now :) Great course loaded with golden nuggets for learning the craft!

  • After I took this course my mixes began to really sound better, and after learning more tricks and trying out new things and practice they are amazing, and I am very comfortable and happy with the results. Graham is a great teacher, great musician and singer too, we are so fortunate for his contribution to the music community.

    DIY Mastering with Jesse Cannon

It's good. There's a lot of knowledge contained within the course. I think because we live in a digital age, and this is a slightly older video, there are a lot of new tools that I'm sure would be shown if the same course were presented today, but I think all the principles behind using them are more or less the same. I learned some new tricks and ways of thinking about things and validated some things that I already had been doing. My only gripe is the fact that the audio examples appear to be taken from the ambient mic? Or a combination? And so when you're supposed to be listening to subtle changes in multiband compression, it's kind of impossible when you're hearing phasing and other artifacts that aren't part of the original source material. That being said, you can still learn the concepts anyway just by watching and hearing him as he makes changes and talks about it. I definitely learned from this course.

  • Great class!

  • Real Great Course. I learned a lot about Music Theory and now am jamming better than ever on my keyboard. Thanks Allen

  • I like how thorough Jesse is and I appreciate all the real-world demos.

  • Pretty dated, but an excellent class. JK walks through everything he explains with thorough, real-time examples. Extremely helpful!

  • Excellent content highly recommended for beginner /intermediate.

  • Lots of helpful information here but it would be even better if the instructor spoke more clearly. He speeds up and mumbles dramatically toward the end of each sentence making it pretty difficult to hear what he's saying. If you do more classes, please work with a video or speech producer to improve the delivery. Thanks!

  • I just wanna echo what the other reviewers have said. I've been looking for a while for a course, teacher program that can fill the gap and connect the dots to the fundamentals you need to address, i've tried various well known programs and forums but nothing has laid things out so clearly and concisely as Isaac Cotects programs have, a great place to start from to become a better producer and mix engineer. Obv this is a few years old now and things have evovled since then, instead of the eq matching you could try something likr room correction, i've used it for a few year but all this time my monitors were not calibrated properly and i was mixing too quiet! ;'( These programs have all the steps you need to level up your mixing and production game.

  • Great teacher, teachings, very inspiring, and more than i expected!!! Thanks Isaac and Creativelive for this!

  • Great course!

  • Great intro to DJ-ing, covering gear, building blocks of music, beat matching, and lots of little stories about his experience. Also touches on what to think about depending on what kind of DJ you want to be and how that might change the type of gear you're after. As a classically trained musician, I also find his notation for phrases, beats, etc a lot more simple and intuitive than traditional theory. Thanks, great course.

  • AMAZING COURSE!

  • u da best man , learned so much from this class , thanks

  • Disregard the comments saying that this is not the fundamentals of mixing. They're only be saying this because they didn't watch all of the videos before the actual mixing of the songs. Here's my review. This has been a very refreshing class because Jesse talks real life situations of what it's like to learn how to mix. I love how he talks about his own past struggles with mixing and how he overcame those struggles and he gives us key points to do so that we don't go down bunny trails of trial of and error trying to figure out how to mix. I highly recommend this class to anyone who's a beginner or intermediate mixer or if you feel lost sometimes with certain things when mixing, Jesse covers it ALL here and shows you how to overcome and how to be decisive in how you mix. You really owe it to your mixes and clients to invest in this class and set some time aside to watch, listen and learn and you will have a stable foundation to mix anything rock and edm going forward no matter what your mixing skill level is at. My quick tip to anyone reading this is to watch every video because if you don't you'll be like these other nonsense reviews who never watched the whole class and therefor never grew in their mixing skills. Honestly I can't get enough of this class. I keep going back and re-watching and just can't get enough of this class. You apply this stuff and you'll be a pro mixer! Here's to making some killer rock songs in 2020!!!!!!

  • Isaac is the man! He is such a great teacher and you can tell has full control over the information. I already feel like I am many steps above friends who have used ableton for years because of this course setting a foundation for me to learn and experiment. Thank you Isaac and crew!

  • I'm about 75% through this course now and am absolutely loving it. Graham gives a very clear and detailed look at compressors. Thank you!

  • Even though it's a bit old now this is still a fantastic walkthrough of Maschine. Lots of great content here!

  • Wow, this course has been so helpful for me. I've always been frustrated as a musician with the production aspect and this course has given me the tools to overcome those roadblocks and get to making music. This course helped me in ways I could have never expected: I don't even have Ableton Live, I use a different DAW, but I was able to apply everything to what I have and learn more about my own DAW capabilities in the process. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to get into producing music. Fantastic.

  • Please make an update to this class or create a brand new one based on the newest Maschine + Mk3! thanks in advance!

  • It's great to learn from a master such as DJ Hapa, the course content is the perfect blend of comprehensive content and practical demonstrations. I've learnt a wealth of valuable information! Thank you Creativelive and DJ Hapa for an excellent course

  • Очень круто, понятно и полезно! Исак крут!
