Okay let's dive right into it let's talk about what we're going to be learning they of course, my name is tracy reed and just a little intro on me I'm a digital scrapbooking designer and teacher and like chikayo said, I have ten years of experience, so I'm taking all that experience and turning it into three classes for creative life and we are on classroom or two, which is layering today so let's talk about our segments and what we're going to be doing the first segment today we're going to talking about paper as a design element and there's lots of different ways to use paper as a design element you can use it in the background to kind of ground your layout, you can use it in the foreground as actually part of your design and, um, creating design aesthetic, not just lying low in the back room and then uh different ways to use oops, sorry different ways to use your photos as a part of design, too. Now here are some examples of all of the differently outside we're going to be looking a...

t today. These are all from my personal gallery that I pulled as examples and you can see um all of these layouts newspaper in different ways and you really don't have to just put one paper down and call it good and put your plop your photo on there and a couple embellishments and you're done. There are so many ways that you can enjoy all of the great digital scrapbooking products that are out there on really create fantastic design while doing it segment two we're going to talking about the dreaded embellishments, how do you cluster and how do you make it look realistic and fun? And what can you do to break the rules? So we're gonna talk about realism, stacking order, how you make sure that it makes sense. We're going to talk about the science of clustering, visual triangle rule, ofthree rule of thirds, white space, all that kind of stuff we're going to talk about how to make it easy. You don't have tio reinvent the wheel every time you can make it a lot easier on yourself, and we're going to learn how shadows make or break a cluster and how important they are to make sure that, um, you add a realism here lay out using that me if you use the wrong shadows and everything's going to fall flat. And here are some of the examples of layouts that we're going to be looking at early outs from my gallery, and you could see how they all are clustered and they have balance in design, and we're gonna learn how to do that segment three. We're going to talk about brushes, masks and blending. We're going to talk about all the different ways to use brushes and paint in your layouts. We're going talk about blend moods and a past the a lot of times we don't understand what they mean and what they d'oh, we're going to talk about blending photos, papers together, how to get some cool effects using blend modes and masks. We're going tio talk about lighting effects toe highlight certain areas of your layout to give that extra punch to your design, and then we're going to talk about dodging and burning things like washington, how to make that look realistic and here's more examples here, some painting and blended layouts that we're going to be looking at and last segment we're going talk about journaling entitles aa lot of time people ad there journaling as an after thought, it's what you do with the end of the layout to tell this story, but it doesn't have to be that way. It can be a part of your design, and it could be a major part of their design and it could be fun. Title works dumps a lot of people, what do you do, what? Kind of alphabet, so use can I combined fonts? Can I combined brushes? We're going to look at a few different ways to build titles on our layouts, and then last but not least, we're going to make some realistic stitching, which will be fun. You can learn all of the secrets of sitting with me, and here are some title heavy layouts, journal, heavy layout. So we're gonna be looking at

I have recently discovered digital scrapbooking and have been using a great scrapbooking software that I downloaded on-line. There are limitations with the software that prompted me to look deeper for ideas. Traci's course was fantastic! I learned so much from her not only in scrapbooking layouts and using different elements in a page but my level of understanding of photoshop has improved dramatically. The presentation was easy to follow and broken into perfect chunks to go back and review the techniques. Thank you so much Traci for presenting this awesome course. I will look for more of your courses. Your scrapbooking is beautiful and inspiring!

I'm a photographer. I do a lot of graphic design for my business. I feel like I'm fairly knowledgeable. I saw this class being shown for free on Creative Live one day and it wasn't my first choice to watch, but was the best out of the list... I was wrong. This is a great class. I didn't expect to learn that much and I've been learning a lot! Great info!
