Lightroom for Scrapbookers with Jared Platt

I have spent a small fortune buying classes from Creative Live, and I have learned a great deal from many terrific instructors. This class ranks as the #1 best class I have purchased from Creative Live. It was done in 2014, and the changes and improvements in Lightroom since then are far too numerous to count. However, I just watched the entire class again (August, 2018) and I realized that the class is as valuable today as it was when I originally purchased it. The title says it is for Scrapbookers, but it could have been Lightroom for Everyone. Jared covers every part of Lightroom as it existed in 2014, not just Library and Develop! He has a marvelous teaching style that motivates and inspires one to grab a camera and go take great images. Yes, it is dated. Yes, it is a long course - but only because it thoroughly covers a vast amount of information about Lightroom. And, yes, it still has real value in 2018, and I plan to rewatch it once a year now for the motivation it provides and the incentive to bring myself up-to-date on ALL of Lightroom's latest and most valuable features in all modules. Thanks CL for bringing Jared Platt to us, and please bring more of his great classes soon.

Great class and purchase. I have learned a ton and still only half way thru the course. Jared has done an awesome job teaching Lightroom. I actually reorganized all my photo files on my computer and moved them to an external drive. Now, I will move on to key wording all my photos for easy retrieval and organization. Another excellent course from Jared. It still incorporates what he has taught in his "professional" courses but with the correct amount of modifications to suit his "hobbyist" viewers. Well done.

I have been attending photography courses for 15 years - and educational courses for 29 - and Jared Platt is BY FAR the best teacher I have ever experienced. He is personable, "real", talented and knowledgeable about everything photography. He is easy to understand yet delved in-depth, to the topic. I would recommend this course to beginners and experienced photographers alike.

I absolutely loved Lightroom for Scrapbookers taught by Jared Platt. I didn't even own LR at the time, but after watching his class for two days, I decided to add LR5 to my PSE12 for my digital scrapbooking projects. Jared is such a remarkable instructor, and one of the most amazing human beings around. The project that he is working on for Trajan and his family is gut-wretchingly beautiful and brought tears to my eyes several times during the presentation. I hope to watch more of Jared Platt's webinars through CreativeLIVE in the future. Thank you.

Excellent class. Should be listed as intro to Lightroom, everyone can benefit from this class, not just scrapbookers!!! Jared is an excellent instructor, answers questions,and explains the concepts in an easy to understand way. Would take another class with him as the instructor.

This was a great class. It gave me a good starting point on what to do with my pictures in LR and I Love that this class covered how to work with video and create a blurb book. I missed so much during the Live class that I just had to buy it so I can soak up all of the information on my own time. An added bonus is Jared's teaching style, so easy to understand the basic concepts for using LR.

Jared's class was a good review of the LR and PS basics. The best part for me was the book/scrapbook publishing aspect which I don't do any of right now. Incorporating Trajen's story/book in the class is incentive for me to complete a project of my own cancer survivor journey. Much appreciation for Jared's generosity in donating the proceeds of the Trajen presets to help defray medical expenses. Keep up the great work.--sjmacro

I originally took this course for the scrapbooking information. I was captured by Jared's teaching style to really pay attention to the strengths of Lightroom even though it was a program I've never used and didn't ever think I would open, let alone get excited about. I was working in Lightroom all evening, and am looking forward to continuing, thanks to all that I learned with Jared's course. Great course and I will be interested in whatever Jared has in the future.

Good class. Jared is an excellent instructor and provided good information. I was more interested in Lightroom than scrapbooking and I think the mix was about right for me. While I found the focus on Trajen interesting and heartwarming ... I found that too much information was shared and too much time was spent on his story. It was distracting for me and I think would be hard to listen to over and over again if I were to buy this course. I think that some of the material was rushed because of the time spent covering this and other unrelated topics. I prefer a more focused approach. I was more comfortable when he was showing photos of his kids as examples the first day. However, I enjoyed the class and learned a lot. Thanks!!

This has been a great course. I have been using Lightroom since version 3 and have taken several other classes on Lightroom. I am retired and make scrapbooks from my travels. I was great to see the workflow and naming conventions that Jared uses as it is like mine. Jared is also a very good presenter and I have enjoyed it all. Aslo purchased the class and will be looking a purchasing other classes that Jared has done. Ralph Bunn

This is my 2nd LR class with Jared and it solidified some things I already learned. After the first class I made a digi supply catalog to organize my supplies (188GB) I then had a usuable catalog with most of the keywording done! As soon as Lr gets an easy way to get the majority of my images into LR, I will be thrilled. When I have recovered from the 3 days of sitting, I'll be ready to try out the Book module in a serious way. I already have a digi supplies catalog as well as a photo catalog. However when I am ready to scrap I import the photos I plan to use into the digi supply catalog. Works great! Thank you, thank you again!

This has been an inspirational class. I have had lightroom for a long time, just couldn't make myself learn yet another new program. I desperately need to keyword; to organize my images. I have items from genealogy,family photos, and the senior pictures I do with increasing frequency. Add to that scrapbook supplies, boy am I in trouble. You have made it seem like a relatively easy process,something I can do with the basic skill set that I already have,it will just take time. Thank you for the inspiration to just get started!!!!.

I am fairly new to Lightroom and use it mostly for editing photos,which I'm still slowly finding my way at but I had no idea that I could edit videos or make custom books. I am beyond thrilled with this course and Jared's easy style of teaching.

I'm not a scrapbooker, but I just purchased this class. I'm looking forward to finally getting all my photos organized in Lightroom! Jared is an excellent teacher. His style is very clear and direct. He packed so much into this class. He doesn't dilute any of the information even though this class is not directed at professional photographers.
