With interior architecture photography- your goal should be to make your viewer feel like they are IN the image. In this unique course, Architecture and Fine Art Photographer Scott Frances walks through the theory and technique to capturing interior photos that make your clients home or business look authentic and real. By using only available light, Scott walks through how camera placement and light shaping can be done to draw your viewer into the image. He'll discuss how to shoot with post production in mind by using bracketing and detail shots. Scott's retoucher then joins to quickly show how having a clear and concise workflow to piece together your natural light images can help in delivering a set of photos to your client who tells the story of not only their space, but also your client.

Some great tips and insights. The poor videography is just very distracting, putting the camera on a tripod would have fixed that. It's weird that someone so into details can put out a course with such jittery videography.

really good. really into the topic. not to much basics.

As an interior designer, I learned a lot from this class. I will use these points in the rendering of the scenes that I am modeling. How to place the camera in 3D Max will add to the beauty of the rendering. thank you.

Best class I’ve taken on CL!

I really loved this course with Scott and found it very informative and inspiring watching the way he works. I feel Scott went into really great detail of breaking down a shoot and the time it can take to produce an image. I would highly recommend this beginners course and I'm hoping that Scott comes back to do another!

So informative and generous about his working method. I've always been drawn to photographing with natural light and this class has given me the confidence and the extra tools to work this way. Thank you! I wish we could have seen more rooms being shot but you get the idea through what is shown.

    Greta value for money.

This was a great introduction to architectural photography for me. It covered just enough of the basics to give anyone new to this genre an idea of what it entails.

Although I was a bit disappointed by the postprocessing part not being in-depth, I did value getting to know his way of working using only available light for interior photography.

  • Harald W. Jan 13, 2021

big thumbs up!! this is great for advanced architectural photography. thanks !!

Really enjoyed this short course. Lots of little tips and tricks for taking indoor architecture photographs, and was very happy to learn some of Scott's methods for capitalising on natural /available light, rather than introducing additional lighting (as minimal kit is my preferred style).

This class was brilliant in EVERY level. When I read the negative reviews, I even doubted whether it was worth watching it. Now that I did, I can tell those guys are completely missing the point. This is exactly what a photographer needs to know. Mies Van der Rohe said: "God is in the details". Exactly. That's why this guy's work is outstanding and this video shows exactly what puts him above the very rest: extreme and obsessive attention to detail. If you want to know how to mask and adjust brightness, learn Photoshop and be an editor, this video isn't for you. If you want to be a photographer, watch this! I hope we have more of these in the future!

Great class! Scott gives an excellent peak into his workflow, highlighting the most important aspects of it, and clearly explains his thought process. I wish there was a more in-depth view into the retouching process, but overall awesome class!

Wow great course and so glad this was all shot on location instead of in a classroom, it made it feel so hands on. Your work is beautiful Scott, thanks for sharing your expertise!

Thought this course was packed full of interesting and helpful information. It was inspiring and got me thinking about lots of ways to shoot a space. Thanks very much Scott!

Scott's work is distinctive. He is one of the few archittectural photographers using natural light exclusively and he does it well. His end product is brilliant, but the post processing regimen is complex and a bit intimidating, not to mention time consuming and expensive. I can see why most architectural pgotographers use supplemtal ligghting, but I thoroughly enjoyed his thoughtful presentation and shooting process, and I will be using many of those techniques in my work.

I enjoy this course the spot for the photo shooting maybe is no the best is a too close apartment, however, the explanation is great and Scott show who solve many issues that make difference in our path to be good photographers.

  • Michael F. Aug 20, 2019

I enjoyed the course over all but its focused driven , no pun intended, for a specific methodology in capturing the images, through post processing. More on an advance level in many ways. Course might be a bit advanced for the causal user

Loved this class. I was amazed at the way Scott shapes natural light to his advantage in a way I haven't seen before. Plus we got to see the gear he uses. In the end what impressed me most was the care Scott takes in paying attention to every single part of the frame not compromising an inch. Great class, highly recommended.

This class was good yet I have a mixed feeling. It seems as if they put a class for various degrees of photographer. They show basic, intermediate and advanced stuff all at once. So most people will get something out of it, but will also feel either lost or bored at some point due to the wide range of levels involved. The good thing is you can watch it again in the future and maybe pick something else.

A great class - I got a lot out of it in terms of approaching the job and setting up images. Thanks.

Scott's attention to details is mindblowing, so it was really interesting to get a glimpse into the master's work. While anyone interested in interior photography can learn a thing or two from this class, I think it is mainly aimed for those who are already at a quite high level and want to delve deeper. I mean, not many can command such prices and have a luxury to work with the best equipment, assistants, retouching houses, etc., but overall it was great to see how it is done at this level and how he manages to express the feel of the spaces.

I really enjoyed watching the Great Master give some of the insight of his craft. Scott's thoughtful commentary and relaxed but very professional presence made this course captivating from start to finish and inspired me to continue a great deal. I saw a couple of glitches here and there and a few seconds of blacked out screen where Scott was talking about a 10 hour shoot day in order to capture a program of images. It would have been great to see what was meant to be showed instead of black frame. I wish there was a little bit more and Nicole would expand on correcting Selective Perspective as this is very interesting to me. Other than these minor points I thought it was a great course and well worth it to me.

It was good information from the photographer (although not presented with much energy or enthusiasm) but when he handed off the work to the retoucher it kind of went downhill. She went very quickly through her workflow, explaining almost nothing. I'm fairly proficient in Photoshop and I found myself scratching my head. All in all, his expertise is valuable but the retoucher, not so much. I'd recommend if you are mostly interested in his thoughts and procedures.
