Set Up Your Etsy® Profile
Setting up your profile like I said, there is a profile page, a member profile page and and about page so the profile page that we'd get to it when you're in your shop, you always want to look at the top bar there's there's this little options if you go to account settings, it'll take you directly, teo it'll take you directly to your account, and what you'll do is, um, you can you can connect your social media, which is great people can like and share your your shop listings and or your shop entirely if you have those activated it's a really great thing to have whenever you're on at sea, make sure to look at the top of the page, especially in the admin section there's always going to be little tabs of extra information that you want to pay attention to. I'm not going to go through all of those taps today, but I definitely want you to take some time to click on them and see what each of them dio because you will want to enter in some information on those tabs, but we're going to talk ab...
out the profile page so click so on your profile page you have an avatar, your little representative photo there are two different camps with the avatar image some people think that it's better to have a picture of the person because it's a to kind of show this is made by a person and some people like having a product it's entirely up to you and really it depends on your brand so I show I show my ring because that's when in my my best sellers and I want people to really pay attention to that and it's very tiny seventy five by seventy five pixels this is where you put your full name and then you have the about section on the bottom and what it is if you wanted if you wanted when you fill that out you just click on that and what this is is it's basically it's basically your artist bio page it's kind of I like to just think of it as an about the artist type thing it's where you put your experience or your education you know kind of a resume thing you can put links to your blog's and other sites that you have information about yourself um it kind of goes on you can be assured auras detailed as possible as you want but again it's it's kind of look at it like an artist bio page and then the about paige this one is all about your your work in your business your business practices so to get to it you will click on your shop and it will drop down these menus click on those two buttons there and this is the senate page on this page, I put a picture of myself because I want to represent that this is my shop and I'm a person that's actually making these things and you get teo to put a little quote from yourself onto it. The story my story is pretty short on my about paige, I just wanted to kind of be to the point, and I have some some images that go along with it as well. You enter in your images you can download, I think it's fought five images that will automatically scroll through a slide show to show the things that you make, how you make them you could take pictures of your studio, you can include pictures of yourself. The whole point of the slide show is to bring the potential customer into your world so that they know who they're buying from and that they like you so much that they're going to buy something from you. You want to make sure everything you do save save button. I can't tell you how many times I forgot to do that. Um, you have an opportunity on your about page to put links to your blogger facebook page, social media so you want to make sure to fill those in there as well those show up on the the front page of your about page if you do work with outside manufacturers people to help you make your things that don't live in your house then this is where you go ahead and you give them the information. So if you do that then that is where you apply to do that? Um it's beautiful, right? I really like the way the about pages like because it's really a it's really a kind of ah ah good representation of the personal side of it. You see down there at the bottom there's all the links to your block and everything kind of get that social media thing going and then beautiful pictures again pictures super super important. Ah, when promoting your shop and it's it's very true on the about page because the pictures are really big case, so maybe even get some professional help with this part of marketing your shop. Okay, so this is I really like this about page because it really does show kind of the personal side of it. They have just it brings you kind of into his world and you can see he's making it he's he's finishing it and the close up. And I just noticed that he has his baby on his lab, so yeah, I mean that's the kind of response you want when you look at it about paige and I'm going to show scroll she, um her son did an interview with her and interview with the artist and she put it on her about paige I thought it was just a sweet way to kind of involve her family into her business so I really you know you can be as creative as you want tio with your about page for sure and then pictures of her shop her packaging the about paige is I think it's it's really important to fill it out because it's completing the entire package your brand of your shop okay more inside stuff in phone appearance so to get when you first sign up for etc this is kind of the page you'll get too so you'll automatically be filling in your info in appearance but if you already set up your account then thing you will be I'm doing it in a little bit of a different way the banner image oh this is a really interesting thing local markets if you have that marked checkmark then you can go into the etc system and let them know where you actually be physically selling your work and it's going to attach that to your about paige so that's pretty cool more social media places so to get to the info in appearance section if you already have a shop you would go to the your shop bring down the drop down menu click click ok get to know these drop down menus they it can be a little complicated how you actually get to specific places eso outside I really wanted to illustrate that and we're going to set up our shop title which is really, really important for seo especially it is one of the main things that thie internet search engines look for when they're crawling around looking for website is it becomes the ult title for your shop, which is the words that are attached to your website and so it's really important to have this be very keyword rich or search term words within your shop title because that will help etc search engine help customers find your shop so you put that in there so where it shows up is right there underneath your shop name and you'll see it says thie full string of words that I put together I tried to make it sound as natural as possible kind of this is a sentence that you would actually say even though it's kind of just a big string a key words so keep that in mind that you want to keep it a little natche as natural sounding as possible it also shows up at the top if you if you hover over your tab on your browser, it'll pop up this little information screen and it will add automatically your shop name okay, so you don't necessarily want to say see what promise means by making stuff? Because then it will say by mickey stuff again, so don't worry about putting your shop title in there. Just make sure that your key words are good, and you'll notice that it actually drops the hand made the very end of it, too. So you want to look when you do your shop titles when he entered them in, you want to review and see how it looks ok?
