In this particular segment, we are two more away from wrapping up everything and so in this segment I'm going to be talking about project life resource is so in this this context is definitely going teo I mean require some of your interaction. I want to hear some of your ideas of where you gain inspiration and as we each move forward in our quest to be better documentaries of life and be better at our project life efforts are scrapbooking efforts or whatever it is that we're doing, how do we move forward? And I want to just jump in right away and say that one of the best ways to stay inspired really is what you're seeing right here right now while you're watching and that is online education and so I bring this up because for obvious reasons, you know, I have eight individuals in the room with me that I'm able to just be herewith I adore them already they might be f s the past two days where instant friends we're connecting, but I also recognize that we have a worldwide audience that i...

s watching because of this wonderful technology of the internet, and so I think that what creative life is doing is just such a fantastic job helping us become accessible, and I also have another another dear association with another online education site that's called big picture classes and so before we even go any more into the content, we are actually going to have an opportunity right now to have a little skype conversation with one of my very dear friends her name is stacy julian and she is pictured here that's, another industry friend for many years ago, melody ross but stacy and I go way back and we're going to be skyping with her in a minute and just so you know who she is she is the co founder of big picture classes dot com, but prior to that she had a magazine that she started that was called simple scrapbooks magazine, and it was a sister publication she's creating keepsakes, which is where I was and we go back even further than that. So that's how stacy and I know each other, we remained very dear friends over the years and still today, and so we're going to be skyping with stacy now, so I'm not start technically how this works oh, way, how are you? Stacey? I hear you can't see us is that correct? I'm sorry, you cannot hear us correct, I can hear you, I can't see you so it's kind of weird I'm just sitting here talking to my computer screen picture that you're there because I've been watching you as often as I can for the last three days, so hi, stacy and stacy, you can't see us here, obviously on dh. How awkward is that to stare at yourself in the monitor? I know, I understand, but just so you are where I think you've gathered from his much as you've been able to watch that I have eight d our friends here with me in the studio audience who really excited and are lighting up just by senior I think a lot of you know who you are. So I recognized connie myers she's interviewed me before, so I have to put a ah, very cool or you're coming feel like a rock? She is. Iraq started that connie. Well, stacy were so why are we skyping what's going on here? We've got something pretty special coming up so clearly I should have made different plans. So we have something pretty cool coming up in january. Shall I say what's up or sell you? My friends used staying well, talk about it. Okay, perfect. All right. So, stacey, big picture classes, obviously is one of my very favorite companies. In this whole industry of scrapbooking, you started with a focus on scrap booking. It used to be called big picture scrapbooking, right? All right, so now it's big picture classes because you bring all sorts of education tio everybody on all sorts of topics but I taught a class with you guys last year it was called project really life and that was at the end of last year it was an in insanely crazy difficult time in my own life personally professionally and yet we pulled through that and had an amazing experience together, and it was such a neat experience that we decided that we would be crazy enough to repeat that instruction, right? Well, I'm grateful for the opportunity that you invited me to come back. Why don't you maybe explain a little bit about I could talk about the class with project real life, but before I show a little video that explains it more, will you kind of give it the scope of how this fits in terms of the other type of education that you give on your site? Absolutely so first of all, if you're not familiar with big picture classes, the big picture I'm really refers to the life that we lead and how scrapbooking and memory keeping changes us sort of fundamentally and makes us more grateful and just more excited everything that we've been talking about and so whereas what you've been seeing on creative life, I mean it's been huge, you've covered so much becky and seriously amazing but there's there's a lot of how to information out there and certainly plenty of ideas and how to information on the web a big picture we really try to focus on the y two and I think that that's the fundamental difference between what becky has shared here a creative life and she's going to share a big picture classes which is really project real life you get a peek into becky's real life and she shared the view the principles as she lives by in the way that she I mean, you just go much deeper into you know, the way that she organizes her time and her home and her family so that she can be who she is and do what she does and just be such a rock star in our industry. So this is a twelve week class three months is the first quarter of twenty fourteen and it's time so perfectly because there so many people that gets started and want to get started or restarted with project life at the beginning of every year. And so we're just thrilled that we have becky for the first twelve weeks of twenty, fourteen and every week there is basically new content that is uploaded to the web site. There is a gallery there's, a message board, lots of forums on the message board and a chance to interact personally with becky and her too coaches that air there with her so it's a really in depth look at not only project life but project really just like its title so thank you I'm excited we're going to have a party we're going to have a good time and like I said it was such a good experience last time that we're all really looking forward to sharing that again so thank you so much stacey and and here in our audience to you any of you have any questions for safety before we let her go e I didn't give them the heads up I was gonna ask him but I know someone is dying to know anything about stacy as far as the history that she has in the industry or maybe what she's doing with her big picture site right now are there any questions that you guys have everybody wanting to be shy right now? Okay connie what I stay see what kind of scrapbooking you're you doing now that's such a good question I am getting ready for december I am going to do a project life video album yeah no, I'm not kidding you not staged their promise. I wanted to do one thing if you go to big picture classes dot com forward slash project light we have gathered together all of the resource is that we have to support people who love project life so we have a free community obviously, free cost, nothing there's over twelve thousand people there, they're just because they love project likens you can ask questions and share ideas, and then we have this giant class coming up with becky, but we have a really fun class in december called december duos itt's twelve days of christmas for the last twelve days leading up to christmas, we are using one of the super cool project by many albums, and we are challenging me, doug with photography prompts, and we're going to document december and a really fun, simple, inspiring away so that's what I'm working on, that the scrapbooking that I'm getting ready to go with that's awesome! I love I did not know, of course, that you were doing that, and I love that you're using a project like many album. We're all getting very excited about the many album because we've had so much inspiration on it, I'm sure you guys can see stacy, and I think a lot of like our marlowe, our little chunk of what we do in this industry is different from one another. She has her focus, and I have mine, but can you see how like minded we are and how our hearts are really very close, aren't they? Stacy and it's often times I think we've said to each other either through text or email or conversations like this, we often will say, I wish you were my neighbor, you would be the friend I'd borrow the cup of sugar from because we are that to each other, even though we live in many, many miles apart and we don't actually share any sugar. But casey and I have had many moments in person where we've seen each other either a trade show or back when we used to do live education together and we would get teary. We just we just understand each other, and we understand what our purpose is and not just paper and plastic and teaching people cute things and don't you go tearing up? But we really do have a very shared vision in this industry, and we're both very, very passionate about what we're doing. So, stacy, thank you so much for being with us this morning. Thank you. That created by thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Ever who's watching and I just appreciate the chance to be here, so keep it up. You're doing a great job. Thank you by sea. Amazing. She's. Amazing. I know some of you know her. And if anyone did it before, they at least get to know a little bit about her role in this industry and visiting big picture class big picture classes dot com is is worth it so we wanted to just kind of kick off and talking about project life resource is like I said online education it's such an easy accessible we're all experiencing it right now way to learn more and to feel inspired so at their website currently right now registration is open for this to us it's quite different than the one I'm teaching right now which is why we're even talking about it it's actually really, really different and I have a little video that I want to share with you that explains what this says project riel life higgins and I invite you to join me on a twelve week journey starting in january two thousand fourteen by big picture classes workshop is called project riel life realized means laundry barron's relationships, e mails, deadlines and everything in between I have some ideas I'm excited to share with you on how to appreciate even those seemingly mundane parts of our life I'm going to be sharing lots of real life ideas from my own home in the kitchen, home office spaces and all over the place during the top week workshop we're going to plan we're going to organize, we're going to create and naturally we're going to do a project life together we're going to actually put this idea of cultivating a good life and recording it into practical application, I understand what it's like to have a full plate in any given day, there's so much to balance between work, being a parent, cleaning up messes, solving problems, volunteering, fostering friendships and even squeezing into downtime way all have frustrations, goals, struggles, triumphs, enjoys thiss israel life and these twelve weeks together, it is my hope that you will be more inspired to see that every day beauty in your life is ordinary moments that we all have our exactly what we should celebrate documents, I'll see you in january. So that's it that's what project, where life is about? You can tell that this is definitely more of a focus on when it might tag line is cultivate a good life and recorded we keep talking about that. Scrapbooking can contend to take on such a focus of the actual action of scrapbooking that no matter what style it is, that's, what you're doing this, you know, thiss being this process of putting things together, but cultivating a good life and really being able to dig into that is what this course is about, and we joked it to be getting, you know, a while back when space and I talked about collaborating on this and she asked me to teach on big picture, she said, becky, because she's known me a long time this is where I want you to tap into your inner life coach and I laughed and laughed a lot because I'm not a life coach what you still making your life coach? But I do have some thoughts I'm lots of different areas of life that have helped me and this is my opportunity to share them with people who do have an interest in cultivating a better life not because of the ways I do it but to inspire you and finding the ways that you can make that life what you want it to be and so that's really the focus let me get a little bit more specific about what those twelve segments are just with like like this course that is here in creative live I broke it into twelve segments similar situation are twelve weeks over the course twelve different segments and topics and so as a project life resource and sharing this with you I wanted to just tell you exactly what you're going to get out of that course. Section one would it be surprising if I told you that we're going to focus with begin with the end in mind as one of the topics putting first things first nurturing relationships, organizing to simplify living in gratitude finding balance in routine balance is a big word we all struggle with and I get that nurturing your inner homemaker honoring tradition, cutting out the clutter embracing imperfection memorializing the past and looking forward with bright hope so we're not cutting or not pasting we're not slipping cards and pockets that's not what these topics are about they're very life oriented, very cultivating that good life, the purpose and all of these is to really help people in that way. And so that is what project real life is, and it is a very biased opinion that I share with you that this would be a great resource to help for those of you who have felt a little bit of those heartstrings being tugged during this course, even though we're talking about scrapbooking a hobby it's because you're connecting with what it's about and why we're here doing this and what it means to you and what it could mean to your family and that's where we dig in, I'm big picture, okay? So that's what that is and one more know about that cost something special that we wanted to d'oh is a little different because this is the same content that I'm going to teach starting in january is what I did last year, so I'm going to clear about that just because some who are watching or maybe some of you who are here, they have taken the last time my content is the same minor edits toe, you know, adjust to the time of the year that I'm sharing it but something special that we're adding to the class this year that you can only get through being a registered student in the new class is a set of exclusively designed cards are for project life. They have never before been seen. So this is a first peek that I'm sharing with you guys, and the whole theme of this pack of cards that we're making available for registered students is lists it's all these life lists is the name of it. Seven things I want to dio want to get better at five of my favorite hobbies three things I would go back into different seven of my all time favorite songs five favorite memories from childhood six fashion trends I hope never returned seven places I really want to visit for favorite gifts I received four people I text the most three movies I can, I can quote most almost entirely, and seven of my quirky habits that's just a handful the whole product, the whole kit of cards that comes becomes available for all the registered students has this look and feel, and it carries this theme of life list. So I just want to share that with you it's, kind of a fun, exclusive thing that we wanted to do for the registered students, so you can check all that out on big picture classes dot com

I have been involved with scrapbooking for many years and have made numerous purchases for supplies, a room full and then became so overwhelmed by all of it that I have done very little. The reason being, that I was so conscious of what everyone else was doing and mine never quite measured up to what I saw that others were doing with all the embellishments, and techniques. I then turned to card making because it was a much quicker gratification than studying and laboring over the perfect layout with the perfect paper and etc. I had gotten an earlier Project Life kit of Becky's a few years ago and because of a very busy life had never fully gotten the concept, but thanks to Creative Live and Becky I am on the right track now. I am so very motivated and have recently taken all of my photos out of old albums, boxes, etc. and have them at least in order by years so that now I can begin to document this life of mine. By the way, I just turned 70 and boy does that mean a lot of photos. I am equally excited to get an album started for each of my grandchildren that they can document their own lives. My three youngest are 9,11 and 13 and are so heavily involved in sports, community, church and life itself that they need to document this now, for sure they will forget when they are 70 and trying to play catch-up. I have been a fan and follower of all things Becky Higgins since the beginning of Creating Keepsakes and have always felt she was so very authentic in her aspect of documenting, living life and celebrating everyday living. She is awesome and thank you Creative Live for having her on and allowing so many of us to share in this 3 day event. I know I am catching this in the summer 2014 when In fact this was done in 2013, but better late than not at all. A very special thanks to Becky!!!

I am very excited to document my families life. I have 5 kids and a wonderful husband and life goes so fast. I feel like I do everything on the express train! However, this course was not for someone with the ADD brain. This 3 day course could have easily been consolidated down to one day.... maybe two. I think Becky is adorable, however, think she said the same thing over and over again just a different way. I am excited to start project life and review the videos as I need to.

I need help with organization and this class really helped. I also love the simplicity of Project Life. One of my favorite things was how pictures are taken of kids projects to preserve them rather than keeping the originals. Photos of hands has also become a new interest thanks to one of the guest presenters. This class was worth every penny!
