Good course but is more for beginners. My comment is that there are some aspects that needs to be treated more openly and with more details, and not set an unique view of how to set your workflow. An example is the DNG conversion, this is a debatable topic that requires more discussion. Also, I think you benefit of doing the culling process outside of LR using other tools like Bridge or PhotoMechanics because is faster and you can do a lot of manipulation before hitting the catalog. Thanks

This course is excellent! I love the way Jared Platt explains everything in detail, this is very informative but outdated since there is a new version of Lightroom. Is there an updated addition of this course to help learn and follow all the workflow with the new version?

  • Elizabeth S. Sep 16, 2019

This is an ESSENTIAL excellent course. Jared is a great teacher and really has figured out a workflow that will speed up your process. I have used LR for many years but really learned to harness it's power in this class. Seriously amazing. 5 stars!!

  • Hunter K. Jan 14, 2019

I find this very informative but out dated as the new Lightroom classic and CC are in place. Is there an updated addition to help explain what went where?

  • Maria V. Oct 17, 2018

The class was very informative. As a beginner to Lightroom, I will have to watch the class again, but I do not mind because Jared Platt made the class enjoyable--great personality and great personal stories.

  • Brandon L. Sep 6, 2018

Jared's classes are always informative. His file management system alone is worth the price of this course!

I learned a lot from this class when I took it a long time ago. I'm not as fond of his ego but that's fine as I don't have to be around him all day long. What I found extremely useful was the video on synching Lightroom Presets. I set this Dropbox synching system on my laptop and desktop Mac computers and it works perfectly. I also use it for other programs as well like Photoshop and another program called Keyboard Maestro. Thanks for your help Jared. Much appreciated trick.

Love Jared Platt's style of teaching and always find new things every time. I got started with his videos (I own them all) because I had such a mashup of backups and nothing was streamlined and I always lost images by misplacing them on one drive system that had space or another. I hated that feeling. I always find his courses detailed and he always covers all aspects from start to finish, beginners to advanced through out his courses. I now own the CRU units he talks about and, WOW!! they are the simplest most solid units I've ever used, and I've used A LOT of different raid systems. Watching his workflow from Camera -> Working Drive -> and all the way to Archiving the images, is priceless. When photography was just a hobby, a single ToughTechDuo with 2+1 spare, 7200rpm - 1TB Hitachi drives in raid 1 was perfect. It was all I used for 3 years and barely touched my other backup systems such as Synology 5 bay (Second best), Drobo 5 bay (Worst), QNAP 4 bay (Okay), and a few others. Those all were just cluttered and filled with random data dumps every time I got overwhelmed. Now i have a fail safe and solid system thanks to Jared's techniques. I'm truly confident that my clients data is safe and that i'll no longer miss place images from having such a mash up of data spread over multiple systems. Thank You!

I am very familiar with LR already and I still found this class well worth it. Jared took us a step further to help organize and develop a work flow. The charts that he developed and is included with the class is good reference as I went through the set up and went through the entire workflow the first time. I made slight revisions because I am not a working professional. But I do have family and travel photos that are treasures that I want to make sure are secure and organized. I will then publish especially old family photos to Smugmug so that other family members scattered throughout the U.S. have access.

As a photographer with IT background ( specialized in storage and backup), I have to point out that RAID 1 ( mirroring data between disk 1 and disk 2 ) is only a way to securely store files in case one of the disks fails. RAID is NOT backup! The real backup practice should use backup software to schedule backup from the RAID data to backup drive or disk or cloud.

It was good with some useful information but a lot of unnecessary talking by Jared platt that made it hard to keep interest

  • A. Jun 24, 2016

I thought Jared was straightforward and full of information. I am new to Lightroom and this helped me greatly! It was awesome to learn about his back up systems as well and how they affect the workflow and actually simplify it.

  • Amber R. Jun 24, 2016

Very detailed workflow outlined, all aspects of Lightroom Module explored and great tips for just about anything. The downside was his suggestion to supplement Lightroom with a bunch of additional programs, services, and products. His professional approach is very expensive and not attainable for most photographers.

  • Kevin John P. Jun 24, 2016

A massive amount of information not just on Lightroom. If you want to learn Lightroom this is a great course.

  • Edward R. May 10, 2016

I would recommend this course but I have some suggestions. Jared is not always as precise in his terminology as necessary to follow his logic. For example he will refer to an image in a hard drive but does not specify whether he is referring to the working hard drive or the portfolio hard drive. The lack of specific nomenclature is confusing when trying to follow his work flow and translate it into a personal work flow, incorporating his principals but perhaps using a different design.

This class is amazing. Chock full of information. I have been using Lightroom for a few years, but wanted to learn how to make my workflow more powerful and efficient. By the end of this class, I felt like a Lightroom expert, and that is a testimony to the depth and quality of knowledge that Jared shares with us! Well, well, well worth the purchase.

Just posted on Facebook: ShoutOut to Jared Platt for finally drumming into my head how to set up the proper hi-volume workflow in his CreativeLive course. Watched that part again last night. Ready to RAWK now! Jared Platt's Complete Lightroom Workflow ... it's completely changing how I work ... and how fast!

  • Константин В. May 6, 2015

This is wonderful course! Finally I have switched from Aperture to Lightroom, because now I know maybe everything about the effective workflow in Lr which actually is much more effective than in Aperture. This course is not really about “This button does this, that slider does that”. This is about probably the best way of using Lr on all parts of the workflow: from importing from the camera to printing or making a gallery.

  • Jason B. May 6, 2015

This was an awesome course! I was there in the audience and it was a struggle to think of anything that Jared didn't cover. If you want a synopsis... it's simple. This class WILL cover the full functionality and efficient usage of LR CC and a whole lot of things that cross it's functional path. Jared is also VERY good at showing alternative methods (such as hardware and services) that can be utilized with his principle based approach to efficient workflow. Although why you would question his personal endorsements is beyond me. This course will empower you, enable you, and free you to the degree that you apply the principles contained within! Are you asking if you should get this? YES!

  • Z. May 3, 2015

The course is up to date and filled with great information. The presentation is organized and has a logical flow. Jared focused on the changes while not ignoring the inherent nature of Lightroom. This product gets better all of the time. I was able to watch several segments, and I will purchase it in the future. I snoozed and missed the sale price. Creativelive does it again with a great instructor with great material. Thanks

Excellent course. You can get a Lr plugin to change KB shortcuts so the expensive device Jared has is not necessary if you are on a budget (just change ones you don't need for new ones like photoshop). I think the Mac has its own feature too May I also recommend Laura Show and Dave Cross. These are my main goto instructors for anything Lightroom and Photoshop.

  • W. May 1, 2015

I am new to Lightroom and from the start of the course it became very clear to me that Jared is one quality person with a real passion to explain everything with great skill and a motivation for success. I did not hesitate to download his course as this is the basis for my personal development and the journey to experience great photography.

This Lightroom CC Workflow course was packed with useful information from A to Z for serious hobbyists and aspiring professionals. I like Jared's teaching style. It is very organized and detailed. He is serious and knowledgeable about the subject, but keeps the mood light with a little humor along the way.

I've been using Lightroom for about a year now. I'm pretty comfortable with the basics and a little more. Sometimes knowing what I want to learn next depends on knowing what's out there to be learned. I listened in to this course from work to get an idea of whether there was enough new content to warrant buying the course. Though Jared covers lots that I know, he filled many small things I didn't know and covered some bigger topics that were new to me. I decided that I wanted to own this course because I respond best to structured learning, and Jared starts at point A and carries through to point Z, so to speak. I have watched his live and rebroadcast courses before and I really like and learn from his teaching style too, so I'm sure this course will be the boost I need as I prepare to subscribe to Lightroom CC instead of just using my local copy. Though another reviewer's tone wasn't very nice, I have to agree that it would helpful to have a written synopsis or outline of courses to help when deciding whether to purchase. Looking at the titles of the included videos is helpful, but not enough. This would be especially useful when a person hasn't seen the live broadcast first, and is simply evaluating a course in the course library.

I've been using Lightroom for a few years now and was excited to see the innovations added to Lightroom CC. I watched most of the first two days of the live course and then bought it so I can go back and see the parts I missed. I thought that Jared did an excellent job of explaining workflow and how improving it makes my life easier. Also, he covered several camera issues that I had not thought of and found very helpful. I'm now following him on FB as well. Great course.
