Filters and Smart Objects with Lisa Carney

Lisa is very passionate and knowledgeable; which makes learning efficient and fun.

I have been working my way through all of Lisa Carney's classes on Creative Live. I love her teaching style and how she shows the how and why behind each of the techniques. Very informative and has really helped me level up my PS skills. I have no problem with her recommending 3rd party plug-ins. These are tools to help you save time and if you are retouching and creating work for a living these are tools of the trade. However, one of her favorite plug-ins is Particleshop by Corel. I purchased this plug-in for my Mac to use with PS CC 2020 and never could even get it to launch. Corel's tech support is awful. After 2 weeks of back and forth I finally requested a refund. I found Flame Painter as a better alternative to Particleshop. Even in her classes, Lisa acknowledges that Particleshop is "buggy." Other than that, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Lisa's classes again and again.

This is an intense course, but I'm learning a lot from it! They go through the materials fast, but that's what rewind is for. I also appreciate hearing about the design industry and what it takes to be successful. You will need to learn some Photoshop basics before you take this course, but it will help you keep up when they go through some of the more advanced materials.

Question: What is Simon's last name and does he have a web site? Yes she does talk fast but . . . 1. You can select to slow the video down by .75 2. You can follow along as the transcript highlights as she talks 3. You can pause and read again in the transcript 4. You can down load a step by step PDF file of how she uses the filters It's only advanced if you don't practice, practice, practice.

Oh my word! this must be the best money I have spent in years on my photoshop education. This class is amazing, just so very informative and I have only watched 2 lessons! Finally understand what the jargon around brushes means and how to adjust the settings to get what the gurus can do with brushes. Love this class - thank you Lisa and love: "Don't panic" :-). If you like photoshop and spend loads of money on other people's actions and overlays and "stuff", you need this class. Brilliant.

A little disappointed but overall happy. I bought this on a major sale and I'm glad I did. There's 21 lessons but at least 8 of them deal with extremely expensive (like $100 when I checked the website) plug ins. Had I bought this class full price I would be very upset about that. However, the majority of the classes dealt in more intermediate techniques and I learned quite a lot of tips I will use in the future.

This is one of the best courses I have taken on Creative Live. Just amazing. This is geared towards intermediate to advanced Photoshop users. So happy to see an advanced class!! Very happy to see Alien Skin being used as a part of this course. Highly recommend this course.

I love Lisa, I could listen to her all day, and she is certainly taking my editing to a new level, thanks so much to the two of you.

I love all the info Lisa is sharing in her class. she is amazing in all the knowledge she has and is sharing. I wish someone would tell her to not use some of the expletives and bad languages uses while teaching tho.

OMG... I was more listening than watching that class while editing pictures. And I picked up so much tipps and tricks and sometimes I simply turned my head to the other screen going "wait... what?" and I got shown another way of faster editing. The only reason I did not pay attention the whole time was because she used a lot of plugins I would have to buy. But there were many, many tipps I could adapt without these plugins

Good content and nice personality. I like this one and other class from Lisa "brushes". Don't think its advanced one, more for intermediate level of Photoshop users. Thank you.

Well organized, fast paced dive into the material-- Lisa is clearly an expert on the subject--as well as being an engaging and entertaining presenter. The class itself is totally worth the cost... the additional materials put it over the top in terms of value. I'll be looking for more classes by Lisa.

Lisa is very talented and I think the class is great. However, If Lisa was using racial slurs she would be told immediately how inappropriate it is. No , actually she would already know that. Yet, she has very inappropriately said over and over "Holy Jesus, Sweet Jesus ". I find this extremely offensive, I would buy the class if it were not for that. Unfortunately Creative Live is not great about telling their instructors that you can be creative and still not use profanity or other offensive terms. They should realize that they have a huge audience and surely I'm not the only one out of hundreds of thousands that wishes they would tell instructors that they should be aware of all sensibilities and be careful of their language.

I can't say enough about this class. I am looking forward to watching this again and applying all I have learned at my leisure. Lisa Carney is am amazing instructor and I loved Simon as well, they did an awesome job! Just the handouts alone are well worth the price of the class. Thanks for another class filled with excellent content and lots of laughter. I own all of her classes and will certainly purchase any other's she instructs. Way to go Lisa! Photoshop is a never ending learning experience and Lisa did a great job introducing stuff that I never knew existed in Photoshop. She did a great job giving us more tools to help us stand out in the marketplace.

Great class presented in a way that keeps your attention. This class is packed full of fun ideas with a ton of great take-aways for your 'bag of tricks! I would recommend this class 100%!

Lisa is knowledgeable, funny and inspiring. You always get great value with her courses.

Previously had no trouble downloading any Tutorials. Although the Bonus PDF's/PSD files could be downloaded the actual Tutorial wasnt able to be viewed. I also was unable to find a contact to request assistance with the problem & so have stated it here. I did watch most of the free view video and chose to buy the product. The Tutorial appeared in my owned section but no access to the files was possible. I also received confirmation of my purchase and was unable to view the files from that link also.

I attended Lisa's last Creative Live class during Photoshop Week and could not be happier to see her again on Creative Live. She has a wealth of knowledge we'd be crazy not to soak up. Can't wait.
