Family Portraits with Michele Celentano

Michelle is an excellent teacher. One can learn lots from this course. Having worked with children for more than 30 years, I would discourage any one from lifting a child by the wrist joint. What ensures is a "pulled elbow" ie. dislocation and/or fracture of the elbow. this can reoccur and is very painful. Please do not toss babies for a nice photo.

Michele is a wizard! I got both her courses regarding family posing, and it was an absolute game changer. I wish I could upload before and afters so you could see how much I have improved. Its night and day. The great thing about her technique is she shows you how to add on from one position. So you can keep adding on people and its beautiful. Her teachings on how to interact with clients have helped me tremendously. I am a shy person my nature, but I just pretend like I am her and it all works out! :D I feel very blessed that I had the opportunity to learn from her. I wish I could hug her. :)

Michele is a wonderful instructor. I really enjoyed how there was teaching then a real life photo session. This was very helpful to see the techniques in action! The class doesn't stop there. Michele goes into how she runs her business and her pricing techniques. This was just as helpful as the portrait posing and techniques.

Michele commands her subjects as brilliantly as she commands her camera, whether posing people or becoming friends with them. She illustrates how to master a portrait session with confidence and poise (even when screaming). Beyond this, beyond the clarity of her lessons, watching her photo shoots is simply great entertainment.

I recommend this course to anyone that is interested in family portraiture. Michele is a great and engaging instructor, I learned a lot.

I love this class! I am transitioning from film & television to photography, specifically children and families, and this class is wonderful! I am only on Day 1, class 6 (The art of posing) and I have learned so much that I have already applied to my own photography. If you're like me, you have come across other's photos and thought "meh", and then you come across some and you are like "wow!". What is the difference? Well there are many factors that make a great portrait, but one aspect I hadn't spent as much time thinking about was posing. You don't think about how important posing is until you see it in action here. I am looking forward to the rest of this series and soaking up all of her experience and knowledge. She's cute and quirky, and very organized in her teaching. Thank you Michele, great class!

Michele did a great job covering the entire family portrait experience from a buyers perspective, which helped me to re-think how I do my pre-shoot consultation and post session sales. She also did a great job showing the difficulty a person new to the industry has when attempting to try to do family photos, but felt a little stressed with the guidence she provided to the students. I enjoyed the section concerning age attentiveness, and ways to deal with it, I also benefited from some of the posing and background chioces but felt that this area could have been expanded a little further as well as clothing and lighting. I appreciate her straight forward and direct approach to telling how she runs her business and pricing structure, which helped me align my pricing more to an "industry standard" rather than low balling or pricing too high because it is difficult to get pricing from just general research. The class is worth the price, and I do recommend it.

Michele is a true artist in every sense of the word. While her photography skills are exceptional, it is her ability to connect with families that absolutely had me mesmerized. She is a natural with people of all ages. Her teaching style is second to none. I especially appreciate that she had the CreativeLIve attendees the first family. With many of these courses, I find myself feeling completely inadequate because the instructors make it look super easy. When the student photographers worked with the family, they represented ME. This was such an encouragement. I also was thrilled that the second family was more of a challenge as it showcased Michele's talents perfectly. The business section was insightful and inspirational. Michele Celentano is an amazing photographer and an awesome teacher. In this workshop, she covers everything from equipment to communicating with the subjects. She's charming, intelligent, and a lot of fun to watch. I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop, much more than any other I've seen. I will be looking for more from Michele in the future. Best $149 ever spent!
