Fundamentals of Photography
John Greengo
Master the basics with the gear you already own.
This was a great course learned a lot, I love the way, Pye teaches very informative and humorous. Looking forward to the lighting course.
I thought I some what understood ISO but after watching that faucet lesson I am lost, I going through the rest of the lessons right now, but is so hard to follow up and make sense of what is being said, that is easy to loose interest in this lesson.
I'm in the middle of the course and am enjoying it. I have to watch him at .75 speed, though. But it works.
I watched this class "live" and was simply amazed at the amount of information Pye covered. Yes, he talks a little fast, and since I was streaming the class I couldn't stop it to review anything, but this guy really knows his stuff and explains it very well so I absorbed quite a bit. Bye is enthusiastic, clearly enjoys his craft, and delivers excellent information to students in a light heartedI and fun way. I think some reviewers are a bit harsh about his humor. Lighten up, people! His examples and the additional information his co-host provides are very worthwhile and you can tell the course was well thought out. I plan to buy the class to help me get back into DSLR photography.
I like the information - but man he talks way too too too fast. It made it hard to follow in certain areas. Slower would have been more appealing in the learning aspect of things.
Trying to watch lesson on right now. Began OK. Then paused. Then resumed but no audio. Now 5 minutes later STILL NO AUDIO. NOT a very good way to entice folks to spend their money on your product.
I have enjoyed this class and feel it has helped me. It is a "101" style class so he is not going to into depth on some areas but he absolutely gives you enough information on the topic to get you going & help you understand a concept. I find that his teaching style is very good for me & keeps me paying attention.
Great classes guys, thanks for all the hard work to put this together. I learned a bunch that I didn't know!
Pye is one of my favorite teachers. He is enthusiastic and his passion for photography shows through. He is light-hearted & easy to listen to plus he is very clear in what he is teaching.
I feel more comfortable with my equipment already... this class really helped answer some of my WHY questions. Highly recommend this course for anyone who really wants to understand the fundamentals.
Absolutely loving this class! It has already started helping me refresh my photography skills and every aspect is explained so clearly.
I really enjoyed this class. I am not a beginner, but there were still things I learned here that I found helpful. I really enjoy learning from Pye. He is quick, gets to the point and doesn't spend a lot of time going over and over the same point. There is a wide variety of things that he covers, so really something for everyone. I would recommend purchasing this class if you want to understand your camera better, improve your technique and start taking better photos.
The instructor speaks so fast. It would probably help if he speaks a little slower so we can follow through easily.
I have tried to learn photography myself via the internet / YouTube but always felt like I was missing something in my foundation. Sure I can zero out my meter...but why? How do I know the settings I've selected are the correct ones? I've been circling this drain for a year until this course. WOW! Pye has SO MUCH information in every video. He doesn't just stand in a classroom and talk, he's out in the field actually putting his settings into his camera, talking about why and why not and then shooting. He's hands on the entire course. You don't just hear him, you see exactly what he's doing! I'm a visual / listening learner and this is my eureka moment! Thank you Pye! Watching the Exposure video and how you changed the settings yet maintained the exact same exposure was mind blowing. Awesome course! I would recommend this to anyone new to photography or anyone that feels like they don't have all the info.
WOW!! Where were you when I was starting out!!! I have already learned things I never knew from just a couple of segments. This course is a must for any beginner, intermediate or even advance photographer. A great course!!
Pye's first class in the series of three is very informative, and excellent for beginners.
Thank you so much for this class!! For over a year I had my camera set in a way that prevented me to capture many timeless moments "timely" (ex. Evaluated metering, Al Servo, etc) My photos will improve greatly going forward.
Seen just a little bit but this guy is such a great teacher...
Pi is an outstanding teacher with a wealth of practical knowledge.
