I went to school for photography and worked for multiple photographers the past 15 years and I honestly learned more from her studio and retouching courses than I did from any other teacher I had. (And never felt bored watching any of her videos). She is an amazing teacher and really knows what she’s doing.
I never have photographed in Manual, used external flashes, Posed Models or used Phototshop before I started ANY of Lindsay's classes. She IS the photographer I"ve been wanting to learn from! My interests are what she talks about. I'm engaged 250% everytime I watch whatever she is talking about. Joining CL was the BEST $$ I've EVA spent! It's teaching me to become the photographer I've always dreamt of being! XOXO
This is an amazing class.
Wonderful class - thank you Lindsay. I really appreciate her teaching style and I have put most of what I learned into practice already and improved my photos and grasp of Photoshop immensely.
Great teacher, any of her classes are awesome. thank you Lindsay for sharing your knowledge.
Absolutely a great class. I'm only halfway trough and experimenting with displacement maps. Thanks to Lindsay I've learned so many new things in Photoshop. Also the liquify tool is so easy to use and helped me bring some of my portret photos to a much higher level. No more problems with (for instance) lazy eyes. In Adobe CC this tool is even more easy to use thanks to new features for eye and mouth detection.
I DO recommend this class (even though it's 8 years old at the writing of this review) with the following caveats: 1) I had ZERO Photoshop knowledge. I watched almost the whole class, and I was overwhelmed. I went through some tutorials in PS which gave me a "place holder" in which I could put the information I was receiving in this class. I watched the class again, and voilà ! Things started to make sense. 2) I am a total fan of Lindsay Adler. What I loved in previous classes is that they seemed better organized. What I mean is, she would follow the "tell them what you are going to tell them, tell them, tell them what you told them" structure. She just dove into the explanation, making it harder for me to follow the first time around. Other than that, I am glad that I purchased this class!!
Lindsay. Absolutely great class. I think I've looked at it at least 5 times and I have sections that I keep coming back to. The editing techniques you show are applicable to all genres of Photography. Well done and please keep them coming.
The course is great but there are some weird noises at a minute 14:00 of the lesson 7 (starting).
I've been working with PS for years but this really upped my game. Priceless lessons here...no doubt this is worth the money. She's a pro and easy to follow along with. There were things I never knew how to do and now I feel much more confident after watching this. Thank you!!
Lindsay, this is the second class of yours I have taken. I have learned so much once again. I'm a complete novice at photography ( never can get a sharp or perfectly exposed shot) so I really appreciate your editing formulas, your lighting/positioning tips and creative concepts. Thank you.
I have a number of classes from creative live. I love Chris Knight because of his sense of historical context and the fact that he spends great time and effort in achieving his vision. Having said that I think Lindsay Adler is a revelation in the teaching aspect of photoshop. We have all seen the tutorials where the presenter races through the lesson and assumes we know what they are trying to do. Lindsay's teaching of just two segments of this class: Portrait Retouch and Beauty Retouching taught me more than all of the tutorials from all of the artists (except Michael Schnabl) I have watched. Lindsay doesn't just give you a concept then move on. She incorporates the same concept in numerous examples within the lesson and then repeats the skill throughout the lesson. I am 65 years old and have some memory issues and she, through repetition, teaches and gives examples until I "get it" She has enriched the entire photographic experience for me because I always had the artistic ability and now I can translate from the concept to the finished product much better than I ever hoped I would. Thank you Lindsay
Amazing amount of relevant material, well taught, easily applicable at an amazing price. I paid $39.
Wow, this course was SO. HELPFUL. Lindsay goes above and beyond, covering basic retouching techniques (ex. extend a background, change the color of something) but also taking us through some really exciting tricks to take your work to new levels (displacement maps...!). The class is invaluable. Also, I just want to say that Kenna is always a great moderator - I really love her vibe. She really adds a lot to each of the classes she moderates. Great class!
This course was invaluable. I have started doing portraits for friends and family and these classes helped me take them from nice portrait-style photographs to professional looking portraits. The repetition of techniques helps really drive them home and Lindsay does an excellent job of explaining the concepts and not just the procedures. My only critique is that the version of PS she was using is many years dated now and so early on I fumbled with finding some of the tools and replicating techniques in the current version but that's nobody's fault except Father Time.
Love Lindsays No BS Teaching Style Direct & To the Point,...She is Very Thorough!! <3
I very much enjoyed this class and would highly recommend it!
I've purchased a number of Creative Live classes and this one is one of the best. I learnt so, so much and even on software that I've been using for years. I am so happy I purchased this class. Lindsey certainly knows her stuff.
Fantastic Photoshop course. I knew Lindsay was great at Photography, Lighting, Posing and Public Speaking, but I am really blown away by her mad (great) skills at Photoshop. Lindsay really is a fantastic teacher. She turns what might be a more or less dry topic into a fun and entertaining topic. Thank you Lindsay and thank you CreativeLIve. You have a real superstar with Lindsay Adler.
While there are a lot of basics in the first Lesson, all of which is good but might not be new for everyone... after that this class is packed full of hours and hours of amazing information! Lindsay Adler is seriously one of the best instructors I've seen! Highly Recommend this class!
Lindsay Adler is AMAZING!!! She gives you the right tools to get your job done efficiently!! I think I've found my photography "She-Ro"!!!
