Here Ian shares how he makes his living as an outdoor photographer and filmmaker, and doesn't hold any secrets back. It's helped me get my own outdoor photography and filmmaking business off the ground.

Ian delivers a well thought-out and very helpful course, not just for the technical photo experience that he shares freely, but for all of the areas necessary to be the best photographer you can be. What a great class this has been. Thank you Ian Shive and Creative Live! Recently retired, I have set out to learn everything I can about photography and pursue this passion to capture the beauty in the outdoors. Creative Live has served as an amazing educational platform to help me learn everything from how to use my camera, the fundamental technicals, and learn about software and tools. This class brought it all together. At the end of this class my approach to photography and my images are different. Ian shares so much valuable knowledge that will change the way you go about taking a picture; from scouting a location, to thinking through the story and adding elements to an image to evoke an emotional response. My personal growth has been significant and I have changed to the way I approach creating an image from an Outdoor Landscape to an Outdoor Experience. Loved every minute of it, sad the class is over.

This was a great class! I was fortunate enough to sit in on the studio audience. Ian did a great job presenting the material and sharing his knowledge from years of working in the stock industry.

Ian was great! His wealth of knowledge was shown in the diversity of things that he shares in this class. I know that by utilizing what I learned in this course my outdoor photography will only get better.

I enjoyed the subject of drones and thinking of venturing into this area. One of my passions is aerial photography of mountains and I have been collecting shots for years. Drones however is an added challenge although it may decrease the need for aircraft aerials. I liked the list of needed equipment and the cost involved. Great instructor. Peggy

Ian Shive is a dynamic speaker with a wealth of knowledge he is willing to share. He has had a magical path that led to his success. He touches on so many aspects of making, selling and creating images as well as how to market them and make an income from your work. It is so much fun to be part of the studio audience. The Creative Live staff are always so warm and friendly and they feed you like your on a cruise ship! Wonderful experience.

Ian gave so much information I found to be helpful! Outdoors photography is a passion of mine. It is good to learn from someone in the industry and what opportunities there are. It also opened my eyes to adding motion to my skill set. Thanks Ian for teching this class.

Your instagram has a photo of terns chased off their nests in an large nesting area, showing the groupings of vulnerable eggs. Please say you aren't that unethical. I noticed there was no talk of ethics, like most wildlife and outdoor photographers include, especially now that there are so very many photographers. Since you say you are a conservationist, please explain!!

Ian was an amazing instructor.; very fun, enthusiastic, encouraging, and comprehensive. I hope to be able to return as an audience member for another of his classes. It is a privilege and a gift to have access via Creative Live to such a wealth of expertise. Thank you!

I was very impressed with Ian's stamina and enthusiasm in creating this boot camp. The online audience will see this over time, but the creation of the classes took place over a very condensed time frame. As an advanced hobbyist, I got the most out of Ian's approach to location scouting and composition, but I expect this would be an essential tool for someone interested in making a career doing outdoor photography.

Comprehensive and completely engaging. Ian Shive understands the business of outdoor photography/motion picture documentary and covers these topics thoroughly from conception, pre-planning, prep, shoot, post to marketplace. I honestly do not think he could have packed any more into this course and am so grateful to learn from someone who is such an authority in the biz. Great bootcamp!

WOW! So much information packed into this class and the best thing is that it is practical, usable and detailed information. Ian's instruction takes you on a thorough guided tour of so many aspects of being a photographer in the still and motion world and gives you valuable tools to apply to your craft. Such a valuable course.

Being in studio with Ian Shive is fantastic. High energy and tons of useful information that you can't get anywhere other than CreativeLive. This is an experience I would recamend to anyone. Buy the class IT'S WORTH IT!
