Dramatic Portrait Photography

Great class and pack full of information. I have been looking at her master courses on lighting and to be honest I went with this course as sort of a test run to see her teaching style and methods before going with the master classes and I am sold. Her method is not egotistic, if you know what I mean, and she gets right to the point and doesn’t waste your time with useless information. Best of all, she will give you the tools so you can come up with your own creative ideas and not just photo lighting recipes to follow as if you were following a cookbook recipe. Try it, you will like it.

Another great course learned a lot about flash and the different modifiers. Very informative and easy to understand looking forward to the next one.

Even though the class is based around a fairly old version of Photoshop, there are still a bunch of useful tips & techniques that work with the latest version of Ps CC. Aaron is very clear at explaining & demonstrating how to's. Kind of a Goldilocks... not too fast, not too slow - just right! And, I got a kick out of how different his hair looked when this was recorded vs how it looks now!).

I've bought some courses that a pain somewhere to watch because the instructors make the courses about themselves, somehow. What I'm enjoying about Chris is that he is low-key and highlights the things he teaches.

This class was better than I thought it would be. Chris gets into detail on how and why but still allows for your own style to come though. I'd recommend it to anyone who is drawn to this style of portraiture. If you're into light and airy you got off at the wrong exit.

Really fantastic. The thing which i liked most, is how Lindsay gave options on how to do each set up with speed lights, and shoots in smaller home studios. John is also amazing as is his purple bandanna. Hope he gets his own creative live course at some point. I would be interested in what he would teach, and how? He would have to wear the purple bandanna though!!! But not just the purple bandanna? Maybe that would work too.. Maybe we should start a crowd funder "John to teach a creative live course wearing nothing but a purple bandanna" .. It could be the future :)

Great information from a talented and precise artist. Chris Knight is an inspiration and this class has greatly improved my portrait work.

Fantastic class, so much information during such a short amount of time. Knight's photographs are absolutely gorgeous, truly inspirational. Very informative class and pleasant speaker.

I do agree with Kenneth Furchgott that the tittle is misleading, but for a class that is a tad bit over an hour with this much information from Brooke Shaden, I think I got a great deal! Just the tad bit of information on how she would edit these shots is very helpful!

I don't have a ton of time to spare and largely catch segments of courses on short breaks. One of the things i like best about this course Chris's ability to communicate so effectively and efficiently. He covers a lot of ground in not a lot of time, but the course doesn't feel at all rushed. He's just a good speaker/instructor. One of the other reviewers mentioned that this instructor brings no ego to the stage, and I have to agree. He's a confident and competent instructor without being obnoxious. Rock solid course with terrific instruction. I will definitely check out more of Knight's classes.
