Using Push with Audio and VSTs

Take a look at push and audio and v s tease I know when push first came out that was a big question for everybody because people said I hear about all this committee but I work with audio I want to know how that works you know I use and I this or sound toys or whatever and I want to be able to know if it'll work with push so um we're going go through a couple of ways to kind of work with that s o pushing audio you can't load clips with push but you can add it clips with like audio clips with push so once you load an audio clip you have a couple of options so I'm gonna load uh some drums here I was loved this baseline let's see? So put this in here on dh make sure it's not too out first okay, so I have this clip loaded and I just you know, manually reloaded it in but uh one of the features that I have to be able to edit this clip is if you go to the clip button appear in the navigation um we have a couple options so half of these like I showed earlier always available you could set your...

loop start position length loop on or off but with audio before in the middie section this was all there were there was no words or anything here there is now warp modes you could change the war mode you could determine it transpose and gain so turn this town just in case so this changes the clip game inside of the clip not the gain of the track that the clippers in so if I play this clip and so I have the ability to change the clip gain and then I could change the transposition I get gto I could change the world so you have those options on dh then you can still do everything you could still add effects and things like that onto your track so I go over here tio devices had effect let's add an amp was tio base round up that pre set right there is fine then let's add a cabinet and we'll go to the base cabinet preset here and so if I now play the clip I could go to device on dh see I loaded the cabinet over my so I go back to amp they surround press effect press at effect again because if I just go to browse I'll replace it just like the hot swap at effect again and then I'll have the cabinet uh did it backwards there we go and then affect cabinet it's like somebody was asking earlier like well can I swap like well just deletes love it press that effect to turn that off so I now have the base round up and I'm like turn down my base and so I might try wet all that I still have the ability to change effects and things in here which is really nice ah let's see all right, so yeah, everything nice with the audio so you can't load but you can still affect it um aiken you know, change the loop one bar and I could change the loop start put this back to four fires change the loop start and if I want to change it by um beat increments so if you're not ah live person or you're you're like checking this out and trying to understand live and what it offers uh everything in live goes off of bars beats and sixteenth so that's what these numbers are here it's the third bar the first beat and the first sixteenth so I'm just on bar three essentially so I can hold down shift and then go by uh beat increments if I need to so it's not whole uh beholden to just the bar so you could change that loop start position of where it actually starts and turn the loop on and off everybody good? Any questions out there? Any questions here? Everybody cool? All right ah the next thing is pushed in v s tease so you can't load v s tease in through the browser and push, but like I was saying about prepping you can prep your v s t is to be able to be loaded through push so going to give you an example of that so I have quite a few v s tease but just a kiss and you guys were looking like oh, open that one I'm using a demo account on my computer so some of the v s cities don't work because I'm not registered as myself ah, but I'm going to use a free one somebody going my categories plug ins v s teas and then I'm gonna look for uh oh it's right over here combo f so this replicates I want to say fox or the v a is a box of con movies of oxen free at the office might be just in oregon so I just drug this into a new track and if I want to be able to enable this for push to be able to see it I can just click on it right click and then hit group which will make it into iraq and then once I have the rack set ah I could come in and let's say make changes I could open up my view here and open up they configure and I'll go back to device, I'll go on instrument and as you could see, I'm in the instrument rack right now let's actually name this so then live will see it or it sees it but it doesn't it's not really named you you know, if you pulled this out of somewhere you wouldn't know necessarily what I was inside of the rack so I'm gonna put combo f v s t so as you see on the push it says combo fbi state then I can come in and set up a configuration to be ableto for push to be able to see what's inside of the vsd signs to configure and well teo the feet so their sixteen eight four and those two and two thirds and what's to er for broad of speed so just put all those in and then I can do hit configure again and then that it's like if you do many mapping it's the same thing as many math things I turn that off then I can navigate in and see on push that there's sixteen, eight, four two and two thirds in the broad oh speed but if you remember we put it inside of iraq so that push could see it and we don't really want to navigate in because we want to be able to just slowed it and start going weaken just hit map and then rack these up so um just to map to macro one map to macro to map to macro three, four and five and it just hit map again and I can close this for want to minimize this and then just have the macro showing so this hit I'm in session mode right now because I was loading that audio clip and I was hit note no it again because I was just in the step and that's where you come oh oh that's the thing when you set macro sometimes are when you set him they go down all the way so very bright let's go down you have the ability to set those and then you can get to the really important things you want with the eight macron's you could see exactly what they are and then once you're done you just hit save right here this little disk looking floppy if you're twenty you may not know what that is but you hit that and it will put it in the right category for you and your user library so this put it in instruments which it is an inside of instrument racks which it also is and I just put in the default um and then there's uh other groups that you could put it in if it builds out that way but it just put in the default into iraq so now I have the combo f v s t so if I like it just go here and delete it so I should be able to go to my brows places use a library presets instruments, instrument racks and combo f v s t and then I just hit green and then it's in and it has all the same settings ah as I did before if you're using um ones that have presets on them whatever your preset you save in there it will save with the rack which is really nice so if you made this really awesome battery preset or you made something and razor or you have like a sound toys thing and you could figure it a certain way it'll save that inside of the wreck and then I'll pull out when it pulls out into your project it will have everything exactly the way you had it. Um so he talked about the v s t we talked about audio and, um like I said before, uh I didn't actually do on this one but it's good to make sure that you have some organization and also one of the examples I have on here is teo easily locate things in your browser like I had to scroll down a little bit in the brows too get to the combo f if I would have named it parentheses j s it was just showed up right at the top so anything that that you create it's best to put your like initials or some sort of thing on it so then you know, like, the stuff that you did has the highest priority. You know what it sounds like. Also, if you ever get to the point where you start making stuff and you like it, you want to share it with people already kind of has your signature on it, and people like, oh, that's from that guy that I really like and not like, I got this cool pack, and I don't know where I got it from. I wish I remembered who it was. So, uh, that's, just a little tidbit right there.
