Yervant & Anie Workshops
Okay, now let's come just a bit of promotion for myself and my wife. Yervant & Anie have been doing workshops for the last 15, 16 years and our base is, the main one, is in Venice, Italy. Venice, Italy is a magic place. That's where I started, it's like my home. I know every corner of Venice. And we have, once a year during October, November a workshop there. It's a five day or four day event, it depends from the year. My wife is an amazing fashion designer. She designs outfits, so she makes special outfits for this event, brand new outfits, brand new designs. We have the most gorgeous Italian models and we go all around Venice to take pictures. So it's an extension of what I did here, few more days. And it's all together, all right? Because in Venice you don't drive, you walk. You'll have parties. I'm gonna show you one of our event. This was, I think, three years ago. Every now and then we have a big one. This year is a 25 people maximum, but some years we have 50 and on other ye...
ars we have even bigger but different events. This was one of the big one. You see I'm always dancing when I see pretty girl. (radio changing channels) And this is the event. We've done so much planning. So Vito and me are the only shooters in this studio. Each one of us does video. When did I get video? (audience laughs) I hope you didn't record that. (laughs) Robert it's your fault. I'm such a positive person, when you leave us on Friday you're gonna cry. (laughs) (audience applauds) ♫ And if ever I am faithless ♫ I can't escape your greatness ♫ From the brightest of places ♫ To the infinite spaces ♫ There you are, there you are ♫ There you are, there you are, oh We started doing these Venice workshops in 2005. So we get two different groups of 25 people, I'd say each week in Venice, and we do these amazing workshops and then we take them to Graphi Studios so they can see the amazing factory there, the production, the quality. And with the photo shoot that they do this afternoon, Yervant and Graphi Studio quickly prepare little albums, and when we visit the factory, we actually present them with the little albums of today's shoot. But it's a surprise, it's a secret, so the people don't know if they're going to receive little albums of the shoot. More casual, go guys, mix with the girls. ♫ And if ever I am faithless ♫ I can't escape your greatness (group cheers) ♫ From the brightest of places ♫ To the infinite spaces That was the first session with the model. Just show you the movement, the expression, so if you start moving the couple, the girl, you will get more natural pictures. So that's the first session. I've learned a lot from him over the years, and the fact that we can work together and put together this amazing workshop along with Amie has been an amazing experience and something I will take with me for a very, very long time. Very simple, chin up. ♫ But I tried so hard ♫ It still broke my heart ♫ Won't you come and rescue me I'm Ari, this is Dimi, and together we just recently got married in Venice at this beautiful location in San Lazarus island which is Armenian monastery. It's been a fantastic day filled with a lot of photographers. Thank you Anie and Yervant Thank you Anie and Yervant for this dream come true. I am SO grateful to CreativeLive as well as Yervant for taking the time to put on this class. So many times while sitting in this class I thought to myself "what have I been thinking?!" I have so much to learn! I loved hearing about Yervant's process for creating images, but what inspired me even more was his advice on how to view, and treat yourself as a professional. I completely agree when he said photographers are creative but we are "terrible business people." But I aim to change this in my business from this point forward, thanks to this class! Yervant's advice on how to value, protect, and sell your art is priceless. I have always valued printing and creating products clients can hold, but I don't think I understood the real emotional value in it until this class. When he pulls those images we just watched him create for the last two days, off of that printer, and they are there before our eyes, I had an emotional reaction to it. I want my clients to experience the same, so I must value it and create opportunities to educate my clients. Thanks for the kick in the pants that we all needed Yervant! And I hope this will not be the last time I get to experience your education in my life. I said this many times to other students during the class, but I will say it again here, I want to carry a mini Yervant with me every where I go! Thank you Creative Live and thank you Yervant!
