Action - Create Your Own Sample Evaluation Criteria

in this video, we're gonna talk about creating your own sample criteria. So I wish I could just give you all the sample of criteria and just check out the list. That would be amazing. But the thing is all these different products are so different. There is so much different criteria that you have to have to satisfy. So instead you're gonna have to come up with some of your own, I'll provide you with some general guidelines what you want to look for. But these aren't all going to be perfect. You're gonna have to figure out what satisfies your own product. This is really important though. Look at your previous product notes from the last course and figure out is this what I'm looking for? Was the supplier accurate? Did they tell me the right thing, does it all satisfy this? Another thing you can do is check competitors reviews, look at the one star reviews or two star reviews and see does this satisfy their problem? We want to make sure that the product is better and it will satisfy thos...

e issues. Let's make that happen. So I'm gonna give you a couple examples, remember the double dog leash with this double dog leash? There are a couple of things I would personally put in to make sure that it satisfies the sample satisfies it. First of all, I wouldn't want the, it's a phrase by phrase and I mean it curves the edges with Nylon. This just shows bad product quality and I want to make sure I see that you're really one out there and another thing I noted on the low star competitor reviews was that these leashes actually failed, they would say some dogs actually ran away and they were scared about getting them hit against cars. So a simple way to do is link on that leash onto something and pull as hard as you can. Does it pull apart if it does with lilies? Probably not the right product. You have to assume that there's gonna be some big dogs with this and it can pull apart. So make sure that these products satisfy your specific criteria you're looking for. Now it's time to create your own sample evaluation criteria and to do this. Open up your resource packet and open the third pdf called create your sample criteria and here are three criteria that I came up with that are specific to the double dog leash and it might take you some time but really think about what are the most important things that you should be looking for in your product sample and make sure that your sample satisfies those things. So for my example with the double dog leash I wanted to look at are the hinges sturdy and will not break. And that is such an important point because I saw this over and over in my competitors negative reviews where they were worried that the hinge would break or the hinge actually did break and I really put a lot of force on this and I know I already told you this in the last video, but these hinges are not going to break. These are super solid. And even with having someone else pull one side of me, pulling my side, we could not get these hinges to come apart. So for criteria number one, I'm gonna say the hinges seemed very solid. I could not imagine these breaking. So this sample definitely satisfies that first criteria. The next criteria is the material of the leash is not going to fray. Now, one of the things that I was worried about with this double dog leash is the quality of the leash itself. I didn't want there to be any material frame kind of coming apart and having loose ends and I was really looking for a material that feels solid and that's not going to pray for as long as the person owns the product. And after taking a close look at this product, it really seems like this product is not going to fray. I would say the material seems well built. I really, I can't imagine this frame, I can't imagine this frame. Therefore our double dog leash satisfies that criteria. And now it's on to my 3rd criteria for this third criteria. I was really interested in the handle at the top. And one thing that I was worried about with this product sample was that the handle would feel like really cheap plastic. And although the handle is made of plastic, it doesn't feel cheap and hopefully you can see it in this photo in the top right hand corner. But they've used this nice material here that makes the handle feel comfortable in your hand and it's a little bit squishy and foamy. So I'm going to say yes, handle feels solid and will fit comfortably in owner's hands. So we got very lucky with this product sample. This sample not only did very well when we use our general sample criteria, but it also passed all my custom product criteria that I created and so take some time to come up with what you believe to be the most important criteria specific for your product And run each of your 2-3 different product samples through that criteria. And hopefully that will give you some more insight about which product sample is the highest quality. Now, if you go through these steps of creating your own criteria and also using our general sample criteria and decide that none of these samples are living up to your quality expectations, then you don't have to pick one. You can either go ahead and place more product sample orders with different suppliers or in the most extreme case you can consider working on a different product and it's really important that you don't settle before you place and invest a lot of your time and money in that full order. You want to make sure that you've chosen a supplier that you really like and that they're delivering the quality that you're looking for. Take as much time as you need and don't move forward until you found a sample that you're really happy with, Pause This video now and create your own evaluation criteria and run your 2-3 different product samples through it.
