Behind the Scenes Part 2

We need to figure out where the backgrounds gonna be if it's going to be here or if it's going to be sitting back and let separately so and then we'll figure out where brian can go because if the sits back through the here on all compact with this background there'll be more room for him there but I need I'm gonna have to reflect us here well first we need toe get the cameras set up so I can see how big the background what we need to do is figure out how big we need to print this background okay so if we can tape it too a poll ultimately if that's the right size and it's going to sit right behind here and I just need teo get that this lighting setup done today so I know how big we need to print depth background um ultimately yeah so it just needs to hang off to stands in a hole okay yep as far as like susan okay yeah yeah I just need to get my focus right um er doctor yeah yeah way just go up a bit on your side judge us up take it up a little bit none of the print down down a bit that'...

s like I don't don't work way have to one twenty macros but I do not see it one twenty all right whatever it is that our use one twenty that's correct looks like I think it's actually perfect no interns at the same time that's freakishly big good just drop it I got a camera and a long drop it it doesn't end up to now anything you say doll option I can have a look not bad if anything it may be a little bit too full my overwhelming but it doesn't mean tio why don't we do that now take it that way and if it's there then you're right there forward so we'll have to see what they're teaching abilities like to hear because they're whatever um rather than ride in the back wait bring that forward yeah if anything we're going to build this up a little bit I'm not sure we're just actually thinking here it might be easier to photograph the mind quite flat and does a second shot with no baby and get that in exactly the right place on and then you can just shop that piece and I just think if I because I had that under there and it's sort of pushes a baby for you're not sure is gonna be here I can have the option to do it you might find it's really soft in here what do you want to win the so when the baby sitting it comes up you know so it's really really soft so they sink in you but this doll's she's gotta wait there's no way you can be more comfortable than this really don't just get rid of that stuff you just unmemorable give you guys doesn't think you can you can shoot it without the baby and you won't have to shut up and then she was back in after you lose a share if you want you might find the shell is actually quite nice but we'll give you a little bit of stick we need to lie should have a look first way I think that looks better than you think with illustration it's better like that doesn't it looks more three dimensional it looks pretty close stone doesn't think thanks thank you actually you know what it needs to just go around that way so it's more on an angle just slightly more um well that happen can you do that? No. Okay, yeah yeah that's it that's it that's great and then it's just swivel their head so that way yeah, yeah let me just have a look a bit more that's it and then this idea needs to go back closer to the two twenty and up a little bit yeah that's about right and just take it in certain says close is it khun got to the to twenty oh, can we get rid of that pole in the back? Because that's that just position of waiting here isa ring flash in there or just a hit is a hit wait with that just bring it bring it this fight but more to the stand yeah across it and take it back as far as it'll go to the okay but that's pretty good just made this booth print bring the print forward as well take a bite of a fly you're right then we'll shoot the disused city on that on that ship with baby yeah that's probably the best mind doing it to get that three dimensional thing okay so what we need to do is put so we need to reflect wait what are the reflective bring four by deflects wearing bring two of those in to be friends too that's what they say yeah yeah yeah you take that around the back so we're just using one here keep going round yeah yep that's it okay and then we got the other one here let's just see what happens to start with just because I know what way print it have a look in their way it would be advantageous if if if it came down to here with you help so it takes him off the tar yeah and it's not right because this is the right size now I think it could be a little wider do you just time looks good on this side that side of it smooth well good for you if you just moved thank you. Yeah why don't we type the stan? Can we get some jaffa and take this town needs five percent way petals what do you think this raise it raise it up to print up a little bit so the record up a little bit so you get what I'm about having to admit that you're right that we get the um painted center of the sun player yeah more of a sense of roundness if you just take the background that won't get you big a lot of brown in the middle well they're no cluttering blamed it on photoshopped blend the two so if she's got like half an inch well that's doesn't really matter it's more that circle of the sunflower what too much too much yeah that's about right it's probably pretty good you know intense in what way so what we need to do john way want um you want your idea at eleven and to start and this at eight and a half carat good idea, huh he was not the original one because it wasn't exactly I wanna watch okay our big good high rise everyone going in a little closer a sight and a half on full power well I did bring lee in this distance what eyes how is that one hundred what's the next one two hundred give us eleven and a half and then we can drop down a little bit you're to hundreds of europe yeah okay. Yes the little one eleven and this feel a right and a half um yeah needs to come forward more no that's too far down it is now up go up good that's it yet yeah they just needs to be yeah I need to have you do the center prop before we lock it down bigger bigger than you but I think that's fine dawn it's almost like a zoot always got the outside out of um yeah I could pull it pull it that's cool I think I've got the nicer dimensional thing yeah that's good center it's okay you're gonna shoot from there brian I don't mean now I can hear you teo get everyone out yeah looks nice just put a few extras on here just around the edges making yeah I'm gonna get some history and just um pull a few out so they get now shaggy a jonah just round here they were just on on the top just easy to tackle you and that's good way uh you only need a couple of lives up to my motto I just probably think I slice it with a long ways across the are just roll it a couple of times twice and this could just tell gandhi thought that okay that's fine it sort of sticks with static jones cutting some heads at a phone and covered it with fabric and we slip these underneath the newborn baby and we'll color them so they match the prop so you can't really notice them it's just because they were between their proper babies some um this is the center of the sun flare for the leo I actually made it right from scratch in a wall first of all I crush eight almost a bear a shape and just in one color and now I go over the top texturizing it with different colored walls and different textured walls just a break the callousness it's not all one color um such just stitch it so twisted folded over and back in again takes a long time but it's quite a good term effect and what I've done is out of the depths like these nice and long and shaggy and then I've used a metal wall which is close so we get that sort of contour of the inside of the sunflower going in and out maybe first thing in the morning we'll ship the yeah which makes the most sense anyway still things are gonna run the prints that are down below there do you want those living there the whole time we're shooting and when things are live not that I'm probably guard it well we'll take him out I'll just use them to show the mothers in the booth we're gonna bring it down give way well, just take it down three, three notches and we'll see what happens you're doing recon stick that on the wall with weight now that's down through way before you came back you were trying to troubleshoot some weirdness with the strobes and make sure everything was firing. Why is that woman you just pull us back this morning I was going to warner's calibrated we're going to hit was showing the one image twice it was not showing twist this is our last image this was there oh, this is the last one okay that's good that's not in the right position ourselves to what happens with shadow does kind of freakish e e that's a lot of stuff I think that, um we need more yellow in here. You know, I know it's soon the illustration you said I think it's just a little bit too monotone moment don't you? Yeah, I'm going to think that but not sort of pollen thing on the edges. What color is that? It's appalling and the yellow yeah, I think it needs it. Yeah, they went to see grand vizier god on the public way get rid of that shuttle might get children standing there now and see what happens or somebody want me you're a person. Okay? Go back in not not too close and just don't have your body. Just be aware of where that light is because when jonas and they will cut off the corner of that print so if you just kind of more like like that yeah, just yeah, right okay that's where we need to cut off the corner of that print when we're ready and so she can stand in there or else we bring the light a little bit more you have to have blood on my shirt again just because you've got that certainly here but then if we bring it around anymore where's the other one before that maybe I put it up a bit john you know softer you can even come open up more your what your way no, not your no that's okay I get it straight into the same time we could take the reflector off head to wait that's pretty what's on the front of it you know it's okay let's go come on we're nearly there ok let's have a look and see get back in there I know what I just want to see what happens with them just tell me the other one without the news services previous that's going well, not much has changed in that we can and then we'll shoot it when when this more highlight in him so we leave everything as it is and we can work on the the files for areas and aquarius you know yeah yeah, that would be correct okay, so don that's all good to go you wanna work on you d'oh I don't bring those yet more sort of is it because I'm just used to this I wouldn't put it to you up too much in the middle yeah just more sort of yes it is there yeah okay so we've got the heiress one so we just need teo will have a joint down the middle so you know I don't know it but don't throw ng better and I feel that it hears I've got this file in large to uh we need to just take it and make it twice as wide yeah so is goingto squeeze two and a quarter by three and a quarter meters is that going to be too big that's a doubling its size let's have a look but uh no I think that's probably going to be good because I'm going to light it separately this's anyone where the background is won't feel it separately ok so it's gonna be further way the way is it a sweep with so let's do that one fixture and we were talking when the time comes for this one here is going to remove the border yes game on this one c this is meant to go vertical since we're letting it happen doing it this will be this will be the time scale yeah okay so let's have a look at how did remove we were talking about this yesterday yeah yeah we can carry this I'll cope teo you said look close so does that mean we should put a few speckles on that background. Do you want me to get rid of harry, but you're not. Harry. Met. Myspace is what it is. I can turn them off, which specific area, but what do you think we need to watch the tripod, put it in their background weight out of the booth, surprising that the russians have that edge, just change a lot of assumptions. It was awful, I think.

I just read the other reviews and think people may not have watched the preview video or listened to Kenna's explanation of what was going to happen. I felt the class was exactly what was advertised, and thought Kenna did an excellent job keeping things moving when there were obvious delays or unexpected events with "the talent" (the babies). I felt like I was at Anne's studio and experiencing what actually happens when she is working on a project. You can't script babies and pets, so you go with the flow and adapt. I think that's what they said and did. Kenna was always prepared to discuss Anne's books, or other topics and did a great job getting personal/and professional with Anne-just as they said they were going to. It is Creative "Live" so it could have been Much less organized, and much more chaotic, but I was actually Very impressed with the production and smoothness of the Creative Live team. I did feel like my view was blocked at times when I wanted to see how they were setting up some of the actual shots- but in general I think they did just about as well as you could in those conditions. I am not paid by Creative Live nor do they probably even know me, but I'm very happy to support and actually buy their content-because I don't know another place/format that teaches so many different, practical, and interesting topics as they do and I Love that they take chances like this and really do Deliver. Anne was very clear that she is not a technician. Creative Live has Tons of Great Technician classes in So many genres of photography (and of course other area)- with Anne's class there is Plenty to Learn from her, but the value does not come in the Wam Bam machine gun delivery of latest tech and tools, it is in the methodical, patient, But Driven pace that is anything but chaotic (as one reviewer said). As I said at the beginning, I think they delivered exactly what was advertised and I am very happy with my purchase. There is a wealth of information and frankly entertainment, for someone who is interested in really seeing behind the doors... AND, it is good for new people and experienced people, who are looking to get better in their craft, more successful, or maybe even famous-if they are see that not every day in a studio (or in any profession really)-Even for Anne Geddes- is Glamourous, Exciting and "Sexy": sometimes it is crying babies that need their diapers changed.

I had the honor of supporting Anne in her launch of her beautiful line of baby clothing here in Washington ( as her fulfillment provider ) and her attention to every detail, their willingness to share their commitment to an unforgettable experience for every customer - it was such a pleasure to see the magic on the photography side of the business that I never had the opportunity to witness. Pure perfection, and thank you so much for sharing. Best to Anne and Kel! Michelle Harden

Watched the first day of this event and it was very different than other creative live workshops. Different is sometimes good and sometimes bad, this session was just that good and bad. It really lacked the teaching aspect, they did not go over her equipment, basic camera and lighting settings used to create the look she wants in her images etc...The lady who was interviewing her was terrible Anne seemed really open to share but the questions were very poor and lacked follow up and really diving into what Anne was doing. It was really neat to get to watch her work, she has an amazing personality that really is soft and kind and it showed in the way she worked with the parents, babies, and her team. It was a great overview of how she approaches the studio and a project and the detail that goes into making a top notch image. It is however weak on giving you the info strait up on how to improve your own work. If you want to see what it's like to work with a big team on a major project this is a great workshop. If you want technical teaching it is not so great.
