Building a Track from Start to Finish Part 2

I see I just put a filter on the master and like sometimes out I'll just go on record and I just started out like this way similar to what he's saying it kind of kind of what they asked about the automation you if you want to route if you want a route say you want around everything through a specific pat and two effects on your master your whole mastered that way you can do that but as far as going between st you can't so let's say you got your whole seen everything laid out you could take the output of each of your groups and route that through another group or another pad and then kind of say you want basically treated as master of fix and you can record that automation you know over that whole output if that makes sense I will get into that automation step tomorrow but it just kind of you know that's kind of what he's kind of doing right here and I wanted to kind of give it as an option but you know if you're going to seeing to seeing there's really no way to transition right now I ...

got home I got a big group h and I just got to see the place e I got probation set up to sample I want to go to internal master taking out of sync putting detect so threshold down here now it's going to play anything that's on here or you know you do anything I do it's gonna get samples so we'll put the threshold I'll start out with that I said we started with with the filter like ahead on the master wayne starting right about there not just e just build it up home on nbc sample I said it upto set up to start sampling they're starting it's just waiting for whatever I do so as soon as I hit I started going go teo, wait now go back to h hit stop and is the way file everything I did I just hear play this's to track wait that's pretty much it I got it to track and I just, uh yeah usually go. Oh, click and this, uh, open saved a sample. Same sample as isaac open it open. Continue forward. I look, I see these disabled is there for forty five open. Contend folder. You know, a little bit name on the numbers a name it right there. And then when you go to open contained for you can actually find it, but they will be the name but does it could attend to the time way all learn here, right? But like this, you know, I'll take this. I know it's not you know I'm not a complete tracking our guy I got a lot of you know, I got different lot of plugging by using different things but you know, for the for the basics I have this and I might even when I put this I might put this induct I forgot some I put this in the dawson times and ask them stuff you play around and don't play around and you play around some of the sense of a dog yes sir, I just had a quick question sometimes when you when you go to to trick like that do you ever do you ever put in effect chain where you're sampling into, like, if for each like, would you ever put like, ozone or something like that on there just to do like a like a cursory mastering like just kind of like to get some kind of phone beef out of it that way? Uh, no, I haven't, but I might try that too said got any, uh, anyone? One question to be honest with you, a lot of the questions being asked are basically leading into a lot of what we're going to do tomorrow, but at the same time a lot of the comments that are being said our not killing it let's just see some or this performance uh well, you know, let me see can't do a sentiment workout, you could do a segment we're going it is seventeen beat make I got the sample you do it with the o g style originally did you say that man I think you like that say that yeah uh ok I knew that you stay with samples, huh next time next time just kicked me you know what you're talking about? You know what you say that e u e o going ah just how does house be there so just we'll see what comes of mine whatever uh see where else e was going whatever cause my grow with this so you can put it over that stuff you already getting no all right you know you like to go back and find something sample I'll never say well project I'll do that I just I just go back and find if I lose that's what that's what we should be stressing out yeah I do college on late night may have lost my project all right uh like a final you know you all right uh okay about bob ten minute workout creative live edition like way I'm a copy thiss one here okay like that put it all up more I think holding it down I'm not getting a button presses not to mention that beauty is like swimming that's not your performance group you want your step great on here you go back in there and he's going to put in a step right here and then changed to step december once again a race advances hit those three and they all come on you think that's loathe clap, clap go by going into that sample a lot of things that cloud that way on the west coast way the club has become this it's like it has a big lead and somewhat custom of it all because this my class right? Ah desa for bars okay, I think the first video past wait. All right, let me see. No, we're doing this way too low. I don't know what that huh. I think is probably in doing that. The whole pattern shows, like quiet as it oh, uh, which one do you like? Pattern? No, navigate batter. Okay, uh, panic turned it all right there, right there they go, getting in and out of my mind all the way off the thing is, it's, not even that kind of what I would do this time was coming really thie quantities? Yeah, you do that way to track may one day I'm sorry together. Yeah, I had I had I took one of the the eyes and I just pissed it to wish and to with it, and I copied it and I just pitched the other one up more so psycho second court thiss copy different wasn't doing different different as usual, I'm probably one on one time doing it the hard way I just getting is all I could ask you just played on keyboard like that, you know so but so then I just like to you know, stand is also I just copied it different notes I could have just had this and played it on you your way. Wait, you know, got an awesome not so I mean, kind of some made this last section I mean, is there any a guiding principles that you, you know, that kind of govern your workflow that because machine you move up quickly all over that man like, you know, howard, if I move to face it's just it's something, I think that's why I gravitated thiss machine so much because I when you have a lot of stuff I hear in my head and, you know, I sit down and I could just put it now you know what I mean? I know it is like me, I should really know, you know, I just sit down internal and I just flow it's like, I don't, you know, like like maybe I'll start like I said earlier, I start out maybe lee sample of something like that, you know, I'm going you two, I'll be watching like a tv show and it'll be like a documentary of something and I'll hear sounding and I'll sample and I've done that like youtube I got a lot of videos why just a sample people saying stuff and I'll cut it up in here and just get inspired by that so basically I guess in enough show whatever if I find something that inspires me that's what I look for something to inspire me and then I start you know, I used it not go from there, you know, so some now you know, I enjoy being like that, you know, you know, I know I'm not that technical stuff but you know, for me I just I just enjoy the music aspect of it just sitting down and doing stuff and and it's funny because just recently, you know, it's you know, on the radio you hear a lot of the same use especially getting like hip hop, even even medium it's like kind of like the same flow, you know, you know, it might be like trap might be big on radio and it's, you know, a dub step big and eating him with something, but you know, I try, you know, you know, I found myself feeling like I had to do these particular styles and then it got it got me feeling, you know, not so happy about producing. So lately, I've just been like I just said, I just have to do a travel, but I just felt like, you know, when I was playing it, like doing a break planet a little thing. I said, that's what I would do that because jay kay was, like, what do you want? Do as I don't know, I don't like the plan. I just like to sit down, you know, and I will do as you do live. Yeah, so so if I feel like doing, ah, trapped when I do it, or if I feel like doing a house beat or just something weird, assist that that that's, the beauty of this, you know, investing with, I'm a sample fanatic, so you can nothing touches this, you know, when it comes to sampling.

Even though it's a bit old now this is still a fantastic walkthrough of Maschine. Lots of great content here!
