so let's look at julia right here now she does have amazing amazing skin let's see what the light looks like honor it's it's actually not looking bad we've got nice catch lights you know just for fun instead of putting that reflector there let me see what looks like to have you bring it over here there you go see how you're getting that nice we get that pretty shadowing on her face a little bit we'll bring it down a tad because she's a shorter girl and I want to make sure we get it right there beautiful perfect perfect perfect lovely so yulia I just have to ask you a question here we go hold on a second here let me set this down so you could put your feet on turn your legs this way a little bit and I want you to move your booty back over this way keep going you're going almost fall off the chair okay okay I want you to cross this leg over this one girl stop oh yeah love it doesn't look good to you I knew that would work for you now with your chest and your shoulder on this side lean to...

wards me oh hello does she have attitude or not oh yeah go for it sister alright love chin up a little bit love it that is gorgeous chin up a little bit more let me just see what this is looking like I need a little bit more light direction of light in her eyes were not quite getting it we may end up using I might want to use some studio lady but well let's see if we can do something different right here right there that's it tilt your head this way just a little bit julia chin up a little bit though beautiful that's a girl fake a smile I ever saw hey julia what did you say your boyfriend's name wass I know I know I always believed people always think I have the worst memory one reality I have a great one tilt your head that when just like a steel trap with holes in it love it awesome shit up a little bit I want you to lean towards me like like yeah like who's your daddy there you go awesome beautiful chin up a tad more gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous so tell me about your husband what does he do beautiful all love it gorgeous let me have you turn your feet this way I want to see the other side of your face so turn all aware this way keep going and you're gonna do just the opposite of what you're doing right here you're doing great kiddo I want this cheek now is good over that way keep going keep going and let's bring this over this way for you and I think I'm gonna use our clam shell on her I know I think we're gonna get a prettier picture for her oh oh actually I like that yeah I'd love to oh actually I can tell you right now this is her better side of her face I like this better I think this is a really pretty for her and just don't don't make it too high okay uncle john good this is great this is very nice that reflectors probably seen better days you know while we're waiting on uncle john to get that turn your face this way missy beautiful tall with your back don't put a lot of weight on that arm chin down a little bit perfect and now with your eyes look right here love it now do you have any children oh shut up you cannot possibly have kids with a body like that you didn't like really bertha or anything there did you nice as a girl I have to just make jokes and laughing and do crazy stuff that's part of what I do beautiful let's see it can you john oh I'd like that really nice nice beautiful just breathe through your mouth there that's absolutely gorgeous punkin core just um you know she's actually one of those few people who can bring their arms right in front bring your arms like right in front of you and I want you to lock one arm like this chin down love it oh that's nice chin up a little bit gorgeous that's so stunning let me just see where we're at exposure wise I'm gonna pop my exposure up just a tad hey I'm a to eight and a sixteenth of a second can you just shake your head I want to get a messy hair out of you yeah I mean really messy I wanted almost in front of your face yeah oh oh don't move don't move don't move don't move don't move a muscle love it beautiful there's my girl that's what I've been looking for their she is you see her does she showed up yeah there got love it love it love it beautiful chin up a little bit darling gorgeous love it and well I want a bit more expression out of your eyes I want like perfect a love it awesome but uncle john you need to blow it away from her face I don't want to much in her eyes but this is good see that really does make her when she wouldn't want you to see how the act of having her you break it you have to break that that moment that static moment with people you know what I want you to hang on a second what I'm gonna have you do go one two three go gorgeous just the one thing I don't want it is in your eyes love and we're just beautiful just bring your lips together love it oh chin up a little bit stunning darling just on and give me that love that like laughing like you're having a great time I e this's adorable yeah I like her already she's doing great ok I want to do I want to use our clam shell lining on her because I think it's gonna give me something really fun I'm like and where I'm going with her well we'll just move everything over there and then I might need that stand by we're gonna we're gonna work over here sorry about that hey bambi do you have a time for us questionnaire yet because we're going to set we've to supper clam surely excellent do you have and this is from pinky are there any lighting techniques that you can suggest teo help blemishes so that their last post a great question that should be worth a prized by the way uh that yes that is that is worth the prize because I'll tell you that is a really good question the clam shell like that you see right here this is the best lighting technique in my opinion for reducing blemishes because it fills in any gaps or cracks so it's a really good way because it's a flat light it will fill in those those blemishes or imperfections in the face and it means less retouching just remember that the more the more the more that the light is directional in other words it has an obvious direction it will skim across anything on the face so if you have a mole if you have blemishes it will the opposite of the highlight it'll have a shadow on the other side which means that that will stand out and so if you have somebody like a high school senior boys you know that's a you know we want to try to flat light then that would be a really good way to kind of fill in some of that those blemishes said it's they're not quite so noticeable that's a really good question we have one more question while we're setting up there was another question about a crooked teeth and smiling had crooked teeth and smile well you know what here's my thing about crooked teeth and smiling I used to have extremely crooked teeth I got braces like when I was fifty they told me I'd look ten years younger source that okay let's do it so but it obviously didn't help um uh any race you back to the point and I know for myself that when my teeth were really crooked I would not smile I just couldn't I just really felt so uncomfortable with the way I looked at with smile so I would say that it's a really depends on the person how they feel about it if they're comfortable with crooked teeth and you know let's go for it and have at it um if there aren't then I'm gonna I want them to have a softer mouth I want them to think a smile not necessarily have one it's like you know like you can think about something that makes you happy laredo like like like what does it makes you happy okay daisies okay what else makes you happy boyfriend doing your dishes yeah what's his name okay there you go there's the look in her eye see that's what I'm looking for in fact I will ask dumb questions like what's your boyfriend's name and the first thing they do is they smile but then it's it's not the big smile it's what happens right after that you see it's it's the moment the click right after that that when you get the best one because then you get it in the eyes remember that experiment we did earlier today guys where we where I made you all bust out laughing for no reason without making you laugh and laugh and laugh well if you saw your own faces you'd see that that that moment right after you did that big huge toothy smile you've got this amazing look in your eyes and it's about that so I will tell people I'm going to say things to make you laugh but it's not about showing your teeth I don't want you to get comfortable that because I promise you I will show you respect and I will wait till that moment happens when it's just right after the smile that little girl that you saw yesterday when I showed you her jaw line right here she had braces and she was very she'd just gotten him like a week before so she was very very uncomfortable about her teeth and so I wanted to make sure that I could capture that so you want a relaxed mouth not one that that's really you were there trying to force it because then it doesn't look natural so that's how I handle that any one last question before we move on yes curtis oh do you have any techniques for a subjects whose eyes don't match up like a lazy eye oh yes yeah in fact one of us here has a lazy eye yeah in fact we'll demonstrate that right after this how about that uncle john yeah because many people have a lazy eye and so will demonstrate that after the fact okay let's see how she's looking right here um uncle john I feel like the bottom light is I mean we've got just a little bit too much right there let's try that beautiful on ice loving it okay let's see how that looks oh you know what I want you to do I'm gonna have you hop off that stool honey I want to get I need you move I need to move you I want you to move come right about there for me let's see how that works if I do get you get you get you good okay what I'm gonna have you do is you're gonna put your hands on your hips right there that's it look at her she has got it going on I need to get some movement in you you're one of those people that I see she's not she's not good being just quiet and silent you need ur sassy you probably walk around snapping your fingers like that don't you I bet you I know she does I can tell man you know I got your number you know you're like I bet you you just what's your husband's name yeah I bet you he is just like so he's like your little he's just like he's whatever you want honey just just what I wanted to get right wrap your arms really tied around your right here I love it there you go lean towards me a little bit beautiful in turn your face that way a little bit stunning darling turn your face straight towards me this way chin up a little bit and with your chin I want you to lean towards me like beautiful chin up a little bit gore just loving it let's see how you're looking right here okay now a move your arms away from you what you turn your feet this way good and what I want you to do is on a count of three you're gonna go like this with your face and you gonna go but you're gonna look this way okay so want you to like just like and then look back at me yeah but I want the energy of your body flow in this way you ready hang on a minute look at me for a second gotcha gotcha love it good job leaned towards me right here love until oh nice I read that's it that's it that's beautiful just part your lips and go oh really no flashing yeah we're going off dad let me have you turn your feet the other way and now I want you to lean towards me just like this tall with your back oh you know hey john let's try something different can we put that box under her feet I wondered appear right into this little piece right here do you want a taller yeah you're going to stand on that and I want you you're just goingto case wouldn't stand on it punkin you okay and you're gonna tilt your head just like that good can I have you flipped there you go let's see how that works for you let's see how that's working who the only thing I need to do hang on a second I feel like I am I need to back her up a bit john it's a little bit too hard on her but just a little bit that's good and then you know what punk and do the same thing but do it this way you pull it off your neck right there and go don't know look just turn your face like this and then lean towards me right here like you're peering into a pool love it tilt your head that way a little bit more stunning whoa something happened with our oh that wasn't good actually I did that on purpose I did that on purpose you're gonna love it it's really total artistry right here yeah I love it there she is okay what's going on here you know well you know what hang on a second I must hang on us it is definitely into the tactic of champions getting retarded okay uh yeah that's what happens remember me tell you wow wow whoa okay everybody go well totally on purpose yeah did that yeah I do that all the time yeah I love it right there love it that's my girl lean towards me with your chin a little bit and then tilt your head that way just a ted perfect gorgeous turn your face this way a little bit love it awesome love love work there one two three beautiful look at me right here oh yeah chin up a little bit gorgeous that's what I'm looking for oh yeah look at her you little cecil thing I'm liking this lovett and on the count of three just don't dump you here that with gore just not turn your face that way again beautiful and got it wow

I almost didn't bought this course due to low rating and what other reviewers were saying about her, but because it was on sale at incredibly low price that i decided to bite the bullet. And I am so glad I did. First of, for those reviewer that find her offensive, because she talks loud or make some jokes to her models or her audience, i don't think that it is offensive at all and neither did her audience or everyone in the studio. As a matter of fact, they were enjoying it. And I did too, was laughing while watching them laugh and having a good time. There was nothing wrong with the audio. I heard her just fine. I found her class to be the best class ever because she only not answers questions by theory, she demonstrate them live with the participation of her audience and the creative live crew and that's what made her class very interesting and not boring. She also uses real people and not models with perfect sizes or figures and it really helped me a lot because i have a challenge when it comes to posing plus sized people. I love her sense of bluntness, humor and at the same time, all the wonderful nuggets of wisdom she shared to her audience. I had purchased tons of creative class about photography and to tell you honestly, i haven even watched the full content on some of these classes because i get sleepy and bored but with Bambi's class, i watched her class in just 2 days without even feeling bored. I don't write reviews and in fact this is my first time to write a review here on creative live because i just feel the need to say that it's very unfair for her to be criticized liked that. I love you Bambi, I love your personality, I love your style and the information you taught were very invaluable. Thank you.

I’ll be honest. Ms Cantrell moves very fast, but her experience, humor and confidence are infectious. I thought I would check out a lesson or two and ended up watching and listening to her entire program. She is clear about her process and why it works so well. Her portraits are beautiful, whether individual or group situations. I thoroughly enjoyed the presentations, and I am a landscape and pet photographer. But I feel like I learned a lot about seeing, and was reminded of approaches to running your own creative business that are valuable for anyone. I have been very impressed by the professional instructors in every one of the CreativeLive courses I’ve watched or bought. It’s not every professional who can teach! I know. I am one who could not handle classroom situations. So happy I was able to join in on these classes. Thank you, Bambi, for all of your energy, and for sharing your knowledge with all of us. This was quite a ride!

I bought this course at a ridiculously low price (because the audio quality was off and I had read some other comments about her apparent 'rudeness' and not being able to get through the course). Frankly, I learned a great deal about posing full-figured clients, light quality (what works best with which skin tone) and who benefits from short-light vs broad-light. Using the camera operators to illustrate her point about where you shoot from (high vs level/low) is priceless to those of us who learn better with visual examples...I honestly can't complain. Bambi, I think you did a great job and you're personality doesn't bother me one bit!
