How to create a modern look and earn extra income
Dan gave very clear and precise information which will help me bring my best skills to my headshot clients. I especially liked how he demonstrated what poses and positions he places his subjects! This will speed up my current posing processes!
A great course! I'm a commercial photographer who specialises in business portraits. The reason why I did this course was to find a simple formula for studio and on-location headshots. I think I've found what I was looking for. Thank you, Dan.
I wish it would of covered his day rate structure and his pricing structure
Good, concise and valuable information for taking business portrait photos.
This is some good real world advice. Maybe not the most glamorous subjects but it's the stuff you do to make a living!
This was the most efficient course. Dan was not only thorough but quick. This whole course is about an hour and jam-packed with good information. His system is very simple, too. I give it two thumbs up!
Really great course. Not very long but very informative. The instructor knows his stuff. I've already made good money applying what I learned here. Definitely worth the money. I think I bought it on sale but even at full price its worth it.
Loved it! What a great course. I certainly learned form this one and found it to be excellent. I am a full time photographer specialising in Real Estate Photography but I am asked every year to shoot head shots (hence buying this course). I found the information to be really good and was a bit surprised as I did not expect to learn as much as I did! I mainly learned small things here and there but they are invaluable for me!
thank you for this class. It was very useful. So important to choose right gear and know in advance place and people.
Really useful class. Loads of fundamental information in a short class. Exactly what I was looking for.
It’s easy to see why Dan Brouillette is such a successful photographer. He gets straight to the point, wastes no time, gets the job done thoroughly, and then wraps it up. Viewers will discover that in a short period of time, they have covered a *lot* of ground and have some solid ideas to work with. Happy to have this in my library and will check out his other offerings.
WOW so much useful information. I'm going to have to watch this a few more times to get it all down. Was there a workbook or class notes?
Great, no-frills class with most info you’ll need to shoot modern business portraits. Covers posing, lighting and some basic marketing advice (excludes retouching). Definitely recommend this class.
I really enjoyed this class! Lot’s of good information! Thank you so much! 😊
Most of his portraits appear to have a light on the background yet he never discusses that. Hmmm. I wonder if he's doing it in post or adding another light?
This is a great class. It's on a narrowly defined topic which is covered concisely with no rambling or off-topic meanders. Speaking clearly and unhesitatingly, Dan covers what promise to be bullet-proof techniques for pre-prep, lighting and basic posing that will get the task done quickly and satisfy clients. He doesn't cover retouching at all, but that would have expanded the scope and made the class quite a bit longer, so is understandable. I would have liked to see an overhead lighting diagram (eg as extra material) with distances marked in as I didn't catch the subject-to-background distance he prefers which will strongly affect the background light level.
Dan has a lot to offer in this class..but it seems as if several things he talks about in the video get missed on the web version. What's up with video 9 ?? It seems as if he's getting ready to go into posing for business portraits and even says he has 12 different poses he takes people through in video 8 ..then video 9 starts and immediately stops again. It seems as if someone dropped the ball in the editing of this video or it's a mistake. The last thing I want to offer is the fact that he talks about using a 3 light setup but what the picture that's used for advertising shows is a 4 light setup...there's a light on the background with a grid on it. Again...not a deal breaker..but a little bit misleading.
Great class! Lot's of usable information. Loved Dan but wholly cow he talks fast. lol I had to rewind him a couple of times. Thanks Dan - You rock!
I liked it! the class touched on a little bit of everything. It's not going to be Peter Hurley (No Shabangs here). He's right to the point but gives you a lot to think about and i loved how he went through his gear.
I wish Dan would cover how he does the cropping and pasting on group portraits. The Photoshop step by step of this part of his work.
The speaker can make or break a presentation. I like the way he presents very much. It kept my interest. He was clear and concise.
Creative portraiture vs Professional Headshots...which is it? loved the techniques for portraiture but what i'm seeing is not related to professional headshots...maybe creative headshots or branding images for creatives..and use rear sync on your ghosting shots, or explain why you did not use it.
I wish it would of covered his day rate structure and his pricing, especially for the composite work.
Dan managed to cover a lot in this short class about how to do business headshots. Some good tips here and I appreciate how clean and flexible his style is.
Excellent class, to the point, comprehensive, I truly enjoyed it. I am now interested in more classes from this instructor.
