Wow! As a new business owner this really took me step by step into the process of being a photography business owner. This was PERFECT for me and exactly what I needed in order to build a solid and successful plan for my business. She was very specific and detailed and covered ALL aspects of running a photography business.

I love this class. Right down to business, she lays it out in an easy to understand manner and walks you through the steps. I really appreciate her knowledge!

This is a very good class, but Kathy doesn't cover taxes, which are a large factor in business costs. She mentioned that she just hands it over to her CPA, which is good advice, but for a class like this, she should have covered taxes in more detail.

No matter the focus of your business, Kathy's tips and standards will serve you well and make sure you are running a sustainable enterprise. She takes the time to pull examples and offer critique from the crowd and also share examples from the family business, showing you where the important building blocks are at each level. If you're just getting started, the strategies put forth by Kathy will save you a lot of wasted time and headaches. If you're experienced but the business side and pricing are eluding you, you will find clarity here. Kathy is practical, humorous, clear and consistent. I own at least twenty Creativelive courses and hands down, this one explains pricing and strategy better than any others I've purchased or watched live. By the way, I bought this one on the first day of watching with no regrets.

I started my business a year ago with little formal technical photography education. It's hard to admit but I've been winging it, figuring out each small task that goes with photographing a session, editing one, and working with clients as I go. I may be doing things backwards, but now that I feel like I'm more comfortable in those small, specific parts of business, I need to figure out how to make this business sustainable and profitable.
